@@NGRevenant ...it's a recording studio for a, as you said, failing tv show (it was a great show - don't get me wrong) so I doubt they ordered in resin designed, ceramic simulating mugs. Have you seen how low production value really is for some of these shows?
I thought Rizzle Kicks handled this really well. I would have expected them to kinda freeze and wonder what to do when Huey was not paying along and getting more and more agitated. But they didn't give a fuck and stood up to him and just carried on pushing him, which was quite funny I thought. They weren't intimidated by Huey at all, which I think Huey was maybe expecting them to be. He was obviously having a bad day, but smashing a mug like that with bits flying everywhere was dangerous. Phill was NOT impressed at all!
I think ultimately, in that environment, you can just keep on pushing, whatever he does will be caught on camera in front of a full crew and audience. I suspect the whole thing may have worked out differently if it happened in a dark empty carpark...
eg why were they getting narky with Laura Whitmore and giving her a hard time when she was trying to diffuse it? also, Huey was already acting the knob from the first question so it wasn't even the fun lovin criminals questions that set him off

Quite a lot of people are jumping to the aid of Huey Morgan? He was the one who went Hulk on everyone! There have been hundreds of musical guests over the years who have taken this lyrics game with a sense of fun and friendly competition. Rizzle Kicks being "annoying" has nothing to do with it! They were simply doing their duties as hosts on what is essentially a comedic panel show.
Actually I applaud Rizzle Kicks for keeping the show going and not getting caught in the drama of it all.

Love how at the end Huey tries to pat Phil Jupitus on the arm in a chummy way then tries to look him in the eye and Phil just blanks him completely. I don't think Phil enjoyed being so close to his child tantrum with the mug. Huey is a mug.
What would he have done if a shard of the mug had hit Laura or Phil in the eye? Hopefully he would have been sued and then prosecuted. Needed to just calm down.

I can remember this when it happened and everyone thought that rizzle kicks were going to be terrible hosts. I quite enjoy rizzle kicks anyhow and remember that they not only managed to prove everyone wrong who doubted them and then managed to keep their cool in this situation! Absolute stand up guys!

The guy wasn't trying to be funny, his massively inflated ego just got the better of him and he evidently just isn't used to people making jokes about him. Well played Rizzle Kicks who handled it well and didn't let it stop the show and make it all about Huey (which is obviously what he wanted).

My experience with him was that he didn't have a massively inflated ego, and even if he did, I took the piss out of him many, many times, he took it like a pro, and laughed, and then got me back LOL! I have seen him at his best, and sometimes close to his worst. But he never behaved like an arrogant shit with me. I still have incredibly fond memories from the time I knew him. Whatever was up with him that day, that isn't a true representation of him. And I will always have his back because he was unfailingly kind to me.

I believe Morgan said he's been on their show "like, nine times" so if that has any grain of truth to it Morgan certainly understood what he was walking into. He's just an arrogant, entitled child who never matured emotionally.
Never been a fan of Rizzle Kicks but to be fair, they handled it really well. It's not easy making a sour situation funny.

Rizzle Kicks were great in this episode. They were funny, they were great quiz-masters, and they held the show together when it all went crazy.

The two lads hosting did as best as they could given the situation, I remember watching at the time and it was such a surreal episode. I don't know if Huey was having personal issues at the time but that was a real moment of weakness for him and he should probably have walked off sooner.

To be honest the show had become such humourless bland garbage at this point in its run I’d probably have a mental breakdown if I was on it too.
I honestly don't get why people are hating on the rizzle kicks guys in this situation. If you dont like them, fair enough your entitled to your opinion. However, in this case they were following the format of the show, which Huey clearly knows about, and weren't trying to wind him up. Smashing that mug was unnecessary and could have hurt someone, how someone can defend that is stupid to me.

It's obviously not scripted. No health and safety team is gunna sign off on somebody exploding sharp pottery within a proximity that close to the talents faces.
