    This is still one of my favourite (and in my opinion, one of the best) solo shows of all time. He was doing vulnerability before it was cool, and when it was definitely off brand for him. What an amazing thing this show was.

      This is an old comment, but seriously, Simon has always been an introvert. He's also an actor in the mould of other insult comic personalities like Barry Humphreys, Julian Clary, Caroline Aherne etc. All intensely private people off set, but able to muster a wicked alter ego to enliven a recording.

    "But when I danced people heard" so hilarious

    • @MrSlothJunior
      @MrSlothJunior 4 года назад

      @Qiqi Wang It probably doesn't mean anything. Dancing is not meant to be heard that's why it's funny. He wasn't good at the things he did, but when he danced, people heard.
      It's just an unexpected and partially nonsensical remark with good delivery. Not to say that you can't dance loudly by stamping, being vocal, or the like.

    • @SubZXD
      @SubZXD 4 года назад

      @Qiqi Wang Some people never get any attention from the public untill they do one big act. And they often use the line "when I did this, everyone heard" as if to signify that people are paying attention to them now. He's parodying the line by saying his dancing was so uncoordinated and loud, they all heard it

      +Dan V. I don't think he goes on about his sexuality per se... His anecdotes deal with failed relationships and dodgy intimate encounters, which are pretty relatable to a lot of people regardless of sexual preference. His whole shtick, to me, is just a (very humorous) flux of social anxiety and insecurity.

    I have actually never heard someone speak about things in a way that resonates like this with me fuck man me and Simon amstell are like .... the same... the thoughts about not living in the moment and describing that "memory" to someone else in the future and liking deathly skinny people and so much in between. Simon is charming by showing his weakness. I found surprising that people now talking about self awareness, buddhism and such stuff in the stand up. Seems like it becoming more common. Am I understood right that he is 30? Than wow. Thank you so much. I had a pleasant time watching.

    I'd go gay for Simon. However, it seems like I'd also have to lose about 25 kilos. I think that may be the greater challenge.
