That truck that you seen at the blue beacon in Des Moines that had a 8 axle trailer was made for hauling steel girders. It is one of our sister companies with The Rassmussen Group based in Des Moines. Be careful Capt. keep the videos coming.
This look is called "BETWEEN THE STORMS". 16" of snow is expected here in Kansas City tonight ... Something tells me my rig is not going to look pretty in the morning ;)
Some municipalities have building codes of covered area (buildings, access and parking lots). If you go over then you have to have retention ponds and stuff for your runoff. Or they don’t allow it at all. King County Washington does this.
Welcome to my home town Captain ! In a different time ( not covid ) I would have offered to meet you and buy you some famous Kansas City BBQ. We are famous for it.
South Dakota wants to make sure companies don't over load individual tires/axles. Unfortunately some companies/independent drivers use general freight trucks for oversized/overweight loads.
Captain Sergei you must be at elmwood and east 87 street . just west of the CAT dealer . I see those little things with R R wheels on them when i pass by there , don't know who makes them or what they are used for . Watch out for the weather and have a safe trip back to Canada .
Good ole Landstar double brokering ! Agree with you on it should be $1000. Probably is what shipper paid...sticky finger brokers did a grab of that. Throwed 'ya a bone. That's why $300 without asking. Might as well do a sales call on that shipper while you're hanging out. At least accidentally leave some business cards. (yeah , yeah, I know one is not supposed to back solicit, all brokers do it, but don't want "you" to do it)
Yeah, it should be US$100 per AXLE. So, if I'm sitting here with a 9 axle rig for one more day, it should be me 9 x 100 = $900 a day. This is no Dry Van.

I was taught they’re called a critter, but they’re used in yards for shunting cars and such. Some of the historic/tour RRs use them too.
Absolutely flat out they probably only do like 45.
the one I'm picking up is rated for 40 cars.

You know your cost per mile and fixed cost per day. It seems reasonable to charge what you need to recoup your costs.
