Always such a pain. 40 turns into a game, thinking this is going surprisingly well, happy, checks the exit menu... and it's set to prince... pain, just pain.
Blame the developers for the game not having the ability to remember settings in the year 2023. It's the thing that frustrates me the most of Civ6. Because more often than not, I want to play with the same settings I do every time. With maybe 1-2 things tweaked like Leader and Map Type. But when setting up a game I have to go through EVERY OPTION and set them EVERY TIME. Contrast this with a game like Humankind, which "gasp" *ACTUALLY SAVES YOUR LAST SETTINGS AND LOADS THOSE WHEN YOU START A NEW GAME!!!!!* It's SOOOOO FUCKING GOOOD to know that everything is already set up the way you prefer it, and all you have to do is change 1-2 things to get into the game. Meanwhile with Civ6, I'll habitually forget 1 option, get a dozen+ turns into the game, realize I forgot it and then restart. Only to realize 12+ turns later that I forgot a different option this time. It's so fucking frustrating and there have been days where I've just given up after a few attempts and played something else instead.
I know devine spark is always strong especially for Korea. But man it actually kinda hurt me that he didn't even consider the goddess of the camps with the amount of honey and truffles on his screen.
After he explored a bit more I do think devine spark on Korea will be better in the long run. But he could've had 6 camps with 6 food and production extra already. But that was most likely all the camps he were gonna get
Divine Spark is only effective in the early game. It's good when you are trying to get a prophet or the first scientist. It falls off hard when Great People start costing 1000+ and your pantheon gives you an extra +1 per city.
@@Shogun_38 early production is so overpowered. You almost always want to have a pantheon that benefits you immediately to start snowballing. Same reason why you should always chop your entire empire clean just to get those district built faster

I genuinely don't understand what is interesting about sejong, I'm not trying to insult anyone for liking him but I mean one culture boost per Era just seems kinda mid. Maybe I'm just not giga brain enough to understand but could someone help me figure him out?
It's just plain boring.... doesn't matter how good the boost is in some cases... I'll just never load a game of civ and say: "Hey I'm dying to play with Sejong today"
Im curious on this as well.. all I know is that part of the advantage is that you can specifically focus on science but still get culture from it. Whereas seonduk youre just getting a culture multiplier so still needing to develop the underlying base culture of cities in addition to the science
To make it atleast a mediocre leader's ability you have to play around it well. Like running grants to boost science before 1st era technology. Delay technology research if you are about to make a library or university or smth. On Diety at around 80th turn I had 150 science (was already at the top) and I got 80% of enlightenment civic as a boost. So it is like an inspiration but once per era which is a joke. Korea is already overpowered civ and you would win even with no leader ability whatsoever.
It's boring but it's fun if you're the kind of player who enjoys that kind of micromanagement. As far as how strong it is, you can occasionally roll through two whole civics when you do the conversion, so you can keep up on culture without having to actually build the culture. Every time you have a choice you can just smash the science button
This is exactly what I thought. Plus a ToA in his cap. So much momentum. Though DS does have long term payoff. Might have thought with the war, too tough?
I really like seeing those volcano fertilized tiles. I also think you benefit more from them in the early game since volcano erruptions dont really destroy infrastructure then.
I just played a Diety game where Chadragupta conquered 3 other civs, I had never seen a civ do domination so well. He had nearly 200 science at turn 130ish
Regarding Culture > Science early game. I can see the argument. You still need production and/or gold to make use of anything you unlock via Research. New Units, new Improovents, new Districts - all costs resources. Civics? Governor Promotions? Those you can basically use for free. You get them - they benefit you. Culture also can save you money, because you need to buy fewer tiles. And the only cost would be unlocking a Civic change. 20:30 For defense, Gwanju has a nice lake. Ranged ships there would be stuck. But they also would be perfectly save from melee enemies.
