So, pedal s manufacturers created their own version: faithfull copies, more handy maybe, and obviously affordables.
Let s compare 3 cheap - klon centaur - copies, with 2 versions (silver and gold modes)
Ehx Soul food has golden mode only. Silver Horse and Horseman have golden and silver modes.
Gear Used: Fender Telecaster with bigsby and Seymour Duncan pickups (vintage 54 neck, Hot Lead STL1). Laney LV100 Amp

One thing you have to take into consideration are pot tolerance variables. All the volume and tone pots have slightly different tolerances. No two are identical.

I Swear by the NUX. Best tone I ever had. It made me stop widgeting with pedalboard and just actually play more.

I lucked into getting a used Meat and 3 modded SoulFood. So I think I have the gold and silver style sounds. Either way wouldn't take mine off my board for any of these. That being said these do sound good.

Got the Mosky. Sounds ok but the power plug comes out too easily so can be very annoying

I've read of some having this issue. I got one off of amazon recently. It was dodgy at first (cutting out, work the FS a few times, on again, etc). Disassembled it, scoped things out (I'm a former electronics tech, now doin' IT). Put it back together (that was "fun"). Now it seems to work properly and steady. Guess some of the wiring was getting pinched er somethin'. On mine, the jack is solid and the the feed from my PB PS fits snug as it should. I've also read of some earlier ver's of this model having issues with the pump pwr supply crapping out. Maybe these later ver's have addressed that and the jack issue. IDK. Gonna run mine thru some gigs and see how things go. Amazon gives you a pretty good window to return if there are issues. so........
