Ayushmann in a masala movie! This idea is a bit of both, scary and exciting.
Rohit shetty never going to cast him a flim like Simmba, Singham. Myb flim like dilwale, golmaal, he will be fit.
Meri nazar me to almost every film he's been in recent times has been a masala film; Dream Girl, Bala, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan. Yes, the topics doesn't scream mainstream, but if you see the films, all of them have an easy to follow narratives, dance numbers and a very set mainstream narrative format.

I really commend Ayushmann for his achievements. Unlike self claimed “outsiders” like Ranveer Singh, this man actually beat a one in a million odds to become a leading man in the industry. He literally pulled an Akshay Kumar in the sense that after he wasn’t considered “worthy” by nepotistic production houses, he became a one man industry and survived solely on his content and maintained superstar status with his script selection and great acting chops. I think he knows his social comedy formula is reaching a bit of a saturation point, but with films like Article 15 and wonderfully calibrated performances like AndhaDhun to his name, I think this decade will hopefully see him reach the same heights as Ranbir and Ranveer. Ayushmann can sing, write, act, and even direct if he ever felt like it. So excited to see Chandigarh when I get the chance.

@@gladys829 I can, I just chose not to. Got tired of the excessive hype train that the general public and the media throws at one person and basing their evaluations on false information. Ranveer is a great actor, but his background is a lie. Everyone fails to point that out. My main intention was to highlight a key difference between two actors that are looked at as outsiders in the eyes of the media

Ayushman is breaking stereotypes because he gets opportunities and the audiences are ready to see their heroes playing various characters. It's difficult for the female actors though, most of the audiences still want them to do pelvic thrusts. So I'll give more credit to Vaani Kapoor for doing this movie and not caring about the so called image.

Thankyou Anupama Mam🙂 it's so lovely to watch Ayushman and hear his thoughts .. I am feeling actors like Ayushman, Vicky, Abhishek bacchan and Sidharth malohtra are not only good actors but very intelligent, thought ful too. Some of them are never considered as An Actor but now they r coming with Amazing scripts and brilliant performances. I m really happy to see these changes in bollywood. Where scripts and performances are REAL HEROS. and all the characters are recognised now a days...still we are really far behind from south indian cinema and South korean Cinema too( i personally love SK cinema, i hv been fan of them since 2014-15)
I have a request if you can invite people from the film Andaman or some marathi or bangali cinema too. I would love to hear people who work behind the camera too. We never got to know how they work. They never get appreciated.

I think for you to be able to sell masala movie, you must be likeable.
Of all the heroes in the current generation, he is the only one capable of pulling such a feat coz he has immense likeability.
Just today watched chandigarh kare ashiqui and again was impressed by this man. But the scene stealer was Vaani kapoor without an iota of doubt. After watching the trailer i was like phewww but film was really engaging and important. Abhishek, Ayushmann and VANI kudos to you.💙

There's nothing wrong with making, doing or watching a masala film. If that's an itch he wants to scratch, why not? Even if he turns out to be a disaster in that, he still has a very impressive resume that he will continue.

I love you as an actor and always look forward for your movies. Rohit Shetty himself said for his movies people should keep their brains at home and his recent releases are exactly what he said. I have stopped watching his movies but I don’t want to loose you. So look for nice scripts instead of these masala movies. You don’t need him.

Ayushman need not to work with directors like Shetty and make no brain masala films regularlu, we need ayushman to do what he does best (in turn also have improve his skills which are getting a bit jaded) we need him to grow and be big but not huge or the biggest like ranbir and ranveer.. to me ayushman is where aamir was in early 90s he was a big khan but not as big as the other 2 more famous khans then gradually over a period of a decade he king of outgrow them(not salman but atleast srk in terms of Box office clout) even akshya kumar did this.so ayushman shd keep working like this and may be then in a decade he can be huge ,for by then the audience would have become more mature and as aditya chopra had said' aaj ka multiplex audience kal ka mainstream hai' and then a new ayushman would emerge and the cycle would continue

Some key observations in this video
1. You need 3 phones+ tripods - no fancy set up needed always
2. What makes you stay up at night? - AK didn't get the meaning of this question I reckon and that innocence makes him who he is
3. Mujhe aur mehnat karni padegi - why directors love working with him and why is he is Mr. ROI.
4. It will be amazing to see him play a negative character in a Rohit shetty movie. Imagine.

Nothing against a full-on masala entertainer. But knowing Ayushmann, he likes to maintain the substance as well and would not go cheap just for the sake of box office number. So I'm doubtful about Rohit Shetty being the right director for it.

Don’t do Masala movie like Besharam, that Ranbir Kapoor did and he could not come back after that massive failure. He is still struggling, but he is a good actor. Choices play a very important role.

Films like Chandigarh Kare Ashiqui should not price their tickets at 300...That's the reason why people are not showing up in huge numbers. Medium range movies should price them below 200.
