A great idea Chris. I love hearing your justification for each selection - great stories. I’m going to give this some thought and see if I can come up with my own list. Cheers
I love the stories behind your selections. Especially the Let It Be story, I can imagine your disappointment going in to buy it and then finding it had been sold earlier in the morning. What a sweet ending to that story! I was just thinking after Let It Be that I would comment and say I don’t have any of those albums, but then you held up Elephant, and the remarkable thing is that just yesterday, Three Dimensions of Music mentioned that album in a video, and I commented saying that it’s my favourite White Stripes album of the three or four that I have. So what a coincidence to see you pull it up and mention that it’s your favourite!
Haha yes! Elephant is an excellent album and I actually gave it a spin yesterday after making this video. Sounds so good. And yes I was really blown away when my fiancé told me in the hospital that it was HER who had purchased Let It Be Naked earlier that day. I couldn’t believe it! A great ending to that story. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great to hear the stories behind some of your records. I'm a big Dylan fan, so I'd have a hard time selling off that record, but I appreciate your strategic thinking in using it to fund other purchases!
Hey Chris ! Great idea, and I like your strategy w your Dylan LP 👍 Awesome choice on El Dorado, I love that band ! Teaser & The Firecat is my favorite.. So so good ! I need Them Crooked Vultures, I guess..streaming will have to do and / or a Cd. I have an OG " Elephant" and " White Blood Cells." Dude.. I love your channel, and I'll visit again soon 🎵 Have a great rest of the summer !
Life's good here in the west part of the lower 48. Summers short, so we make the most of it, don't we ! Speaking of.. Do you know The Gourds " Lower 48" song.. If not, please stream it, Chris. It's an amazing rootsy Cajun rockin' little number that's similar to ' I've Been Everywhere" I love that song ! Cheers 🫡
Oddly, this morning, I saw a video from the Chromium Dioxide Radio channel. He was showing the ten albums that he was preparing to bug out of the Labrador City area with as a result of wildfire evacuations.
Hi Chris, Really liked this one. I've never thought about what albums would be most important for me... maybe one day I will. I'd love to have been able to obtain my dad's collection, but unfortunately he gave them away over 20 years ago to a friend.. the stories I'd have from that. Cheers, Darryl.
Hey Darryl! That’s a bummer about your dad giving those records away. I remember, long before I had a turn table or had even moved out of my parents’ house, they told me they were going to get rid of all of their records. I told them that I wanted them some day and so they held on to them. They stored them in the garage for many years and luckily they all survived (although very dusty). I got lucky that I was able to stop them. If not, my collection and record journey would be very different.

Nice list! It’s hard to remove any albums that were gifts, let alone gifts from loved ones who are no longer with us. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much the album actually costs, just that it means a lot to you. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you’ve got an amazing collection! Way more impressive than the records I saved. Let’s hope we never have to deal with any fires involving our collections!
After the fire ravages my home and takes all that is important from me, my life will lose all meaning. I will only want to listen to boring music, so it works out.

Gerry’s version of Harvest gotta be a first ballot S.M.V hall of fame!!
Oh yeah! Great family heirloom!

It wouldn’t be easy to do… but if I lost all of my other records I think I’d be eager to replace them and that would be a good starting point.
A fun idea.I guess my childhood 45s would be it.
Hard to resist the nostalgia of our old records which were so important to us for so long.

You’re the best JT. Thanks for stopping by and the kind words. I hope you are doing great down there in Nevada!

I love the stories why your keeping each record
Awesome, thank you! It’s hard to beat the sentimentality of an album, even if others don’t consider it very special.
This was a clever thread/can’t even begin to imagine narrowing it down to ten!❤
It was definitely though to narrow down… I left some good records behind!
Oddly, this morning, I saw a video from the Chromium Dioxide Radio channel. He was showing the ten albums that he was preparing to bug out of the Labrador City area with as a result of wildfire evacuations.
Wow, very coincidental!

Financial considerations must be considered!

Love this man! Im going have to make a response. 10 might not be enough though 😁
Ten was tough! But that’s the fun of it- narrowing down the list. I’m looking forward to your response!

I appreciate it man. Nah man, I don't see it that way. The main thing is that your collection makes YOU happy. That's how I feel about it.
boring picks
