The Dark Empire audio drama was a full cast audio adaption of Dark Horse Comics' Dark Empire comic book series. It was adapted by John Whitman from the source material by Tom Veitch; It was directed by Arthur G. Insana & featured parts of composer John Williams's classic score along with authentic stereo sound effects; The adaptation was originally released in the form of two Cassettes in 1994 by Time Warner Audio Publishing, & later in the form of two CD-R0Ms in 1997 by HighBridge Audio. (Btw, a Vid Part is not the same as a CD or Cassette)

I spent many nights passing the time as I was driving across the country listening to these Star Wars tapes. Still have 24 of them in my attic in storage. My kids loved them, too.

This is the true legacy of Star Wars and continuation of the heroes crossing the galaxy to wipe out the dark side.

I remember this when it came out over 20 years ago. This story line is so much better than the Disney sequels (Po, Rey, Finn, Snoke, et al). Just my humble opinion.
This is so awesome. This is a proper send off for the Star Wars movie franchise. With the tech we now have this could have easily been produced. Fans would be talking about this for decades.

my first ever sw expanded universe story and first sw comic ever back in 1997
My first introduction to the EXPANDED UNIVERSE was with Ep 1 - The Phantom Menace {Video-Game} in 1999; Which ironically was like a 3D GTA Star Wars without drivable vehicles & it was released before the first GTA in 3D, which was GTA 3 in 2001.
This has more views than the new movies. Lolz.

This cover art for DE II is much better than the original one. It at least showed how it they really look like. Palpatine's clones should look like original palpatine, which means, like Ian Mcdiarmid.

Why couldn't of these be made into feature films, I always wanted that.... But we got the last Jedi instead. I loved the force awakens ( it took me back) it set up so much premise, a defected storm trooper, a girl who gets force visions when she touches relics, and obi and yoda are talking to her!!!! I thought Luke was building a Jedi army on the island that's why he hid the map in r2 ....I'm looking forward to ep8. Gotta be optimistic

These are the true canon sequels as far as I'm concerned Disney sequels are infinities set in alternate universe or timeline legends timeline will always be the true ending for the Skywalker saga with true proper Skywalker/Solo lineage Disney should concentrate on TV shows like the Mandalorian & retcon the sequels or give us 2 universes legends timeline for true fans who respect star wars lore & the original timeline & the sequels for the ones that don't care what ever they watch .if Disney don't bring back legends timeline then star wars is finished & will only watch TV shows & fan fiction which is far better than the sequels because they are made with passion by people who understand & care about the originals & star wars lore @least we've got plenty of novels like this to keep us going but there should be more novels in this timeline but it would be great to see these stories on the big screen.cheers for the upload

So lets see Disney had this as a guide, and all they came up with was luke the 8 tit green milk drinker, and ww2 bomber fights...... It is literally like some one handed you a mansion with full solar panels, and you go NAHHHHHH THATS GARBAGE, knock it over, and rebuild a shack powered by a rusty diesel generator, that leaks diesel all over.
We have been so cheated. The movies that we have seen with the exception of the very first three have been crap. Because I have listened to the audio books I have a new appreciation for the star wars universe, especially stories from the Old Republic and by the way Darth Bane makes Vader look like a Boy Scout.

This is what we could of had if they didn't make the prequels first...instead we got jar-jar and now these horrible sequels..I couldn't even finish the last jedi in one sitting. .it was that horrible and disappointing..I cant believe episode 9 is gona be any better...

It's a shame people pushed Lucas sign away star wars . People complained about Ep 1 and 2 and Jar Jar so much he gave it to Disney. Those movies were awesome!!! Now look at the shit we got . Rogue one was good . Mandolorian is amazing and I even like Solo . But Ep 7,8,9 were absolutely 💯 trash . Horrible storyline !!! I liked Rey and Finn but the rest were shit . With all this material its crazy to see the shit they came up with .
