I love the glazee and glazer terms 😂 Would love to see this as maybe a set of pastel mini skeins (hyacinth, pink, yellow, peach, aqua, blue) all glazed in this purple!
What I do is make a small amount of dye stock, thicken it a little to it settles, don’t stir the dye bath after adding the yarn. I also use an old Tlingit method that works really well but I’m not sure if I’d be allowed to share it but -wink- hope I can find an email address for you lol.
Unfortunately adding red pigments to blacklight blue will kill the fluorescence. I have a video all about this dye coming out on Tuesday (sponsored by Jacquard! Super exciting!) I do plan to try to mix it with reds to see how that quenching happens at a later time.
I'm not a big, "glazer," but you're making me want to try. Not with black. I glaze with all the blacks. I have...lemme think....between me and acid dyes...10 of them!! You should get, me cotton black, and speckle. So many colors! 3:28 Edit, hot plate with stir bar????? There is a chemists supply in Ann Arbor, where two of my kids live. 28 miles and I'm planning to visit them and hit my chemistry supply! Edit 2, I only glaze 100 grams at a time, in my steam panels, I use 6 steam pans for my dyeing in a steamer, like a restaurant. 3" H2O + acid. Not like I'm a great glazer, again.

Ooooooo!!!
I love your enthusiasm, it makes me smile and make my day better 🦊🦊
Thank you so much!!
The ONE long strand!!!!! I turn into, "The Scream!" Lol
I HATE it when that happens. I'm so glad that it re-ordered itself. I get so stressed
Same! It is soooooooo frustrating!
It came out lovely! Super pretty in person 😊💜
I'm so glad you like it!!!
Oooo, i really like the glazing❣❣❣
Me too!!
Love love glazing! These colors are the complete Chemknits trademark look!
They are!!!
Can’t go wrong with blues and purples! I’d love to see a pink glazed next. 😊
I need to do that again 100%.
Oouh ! Purple over brown sounds lovely !
I don't know why this one has me so excited. I just did some DOS of pecan brown, and that would be so pretty with purple.

Those are pretty 🥰
Thank you!
Love this! I want to try this with a Sand Dune base with purple!
I was just saying above that I should use pecan brown at a low DOS with a purple glaze. :D (Super similar to sand dune)
@@ChemKnitsTutorials Totally!!!!
Maybe the yarn felted? That has happened to me when the temperature changed quickly.
The yarn wasn't felted here. Sometimes it gets snagged or bunched at one end and then I have to just snap it back into place.
Just beautiful! I wasn’t sure it would turn out this good. Will have to try this.
Thank you!
I finally decided on my yarn base and put in my first order. I am getting the spring mini set. It was so much fun watching the last series.
YAY! Thank you so much, Cindy!
Wait. What? She takes orders from people like us to sell to?
I'm wondering about the royal purple over that new neon blue you've been testing 👀

Jacquard is sending me some more of it. I still have a few grams of my orginal sample, but I have so many things I want to do with it!
@@ChemKnitsTutorials fascinating! Science is weird lol
@@newmoonjlp It sure is!

I need to do more cotton dyeing. I keep meaning to and then it's been a while and I haven't done it.
