I have both of these and was happy to come across this video to hear your thoughts and share mine in turn. For me, Bana Banana is the superior one. It evokes elegant, creamy, comfortable vintage classics whilst having that fizzy, champagne-like effervescence and the oddball candy note all at the same time. It settles into a surprisingly well-rounded, elegant, creamy and mature fragrance. I headed to Fragrantica to see if anybody else on planet Earth felt the same desperate disappointment as I did after trying Vanille Banane. I was thrilled to see that almost everybody had the same sad complaint: that opening is UNBELIEVABLE, there's nothing else like it, it's genuinely addictive and uplifting. But holy smokes, it says 'hi' and 'bye' in the same sentence. That extraordinary banana note evaporates and the entire thing turns into the cheap, basic supermarket toiletries kind of vanilla. Once that unusual, special note leaves the show, I'm left with an old vanilla Little Tree that I found under the front seat of the car. All of us wanted this fragrance to live up to its promise and the reason we all whine and give it low ratings is because it hurt us with this performance: nobody needs another crappy vanilla fragrance! It's all about the banana, that's why we all bought it!! I'm almost angry about how close Comptoire Sud Pacifique came to creating a classic and how lazy they were, failing us all.😢👎
Anybody that’s finds joy in someone else’s pain needs therapy. These fragrances are beautiful and remind me of all the kind smells.

I am more drawn to Vanille Banane based on the notes and scent profile.. been wanting to try that for soooooo long ! 😁 but i do know that The one from L’Artisan Parfumer is beautiful too.. i can imagine how beautiful a floral banana is 🍌

Oh Paola, get back to me when that magnificent banana 'hook note' in Vanille Banana evaporates after 30 seconds and you start the period of mourning. I will provide some 'cyber tissues' here online as I console you in your terrible disappointment. ;D If there were some way for Comptoir Sud Pacifique to incorporate that UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS AND UNUSUAL first 'hook note' into the main scaffolding between top and heart notes then it would be the superior banana fragrance, no question. As it stands, once the actual banana has evaporated cruelly the fragrance just remains as a very dusty, dry, ordinary 'supermarket vanilla' body spray in vibe. It reminds me of those dangling cardboard air fresheners that people have in their cars, the Little Trees. The attempted seduction by deploying that amost weaponised note (the delicious alluring banana note, you'll know it when you smell it) is part of rather mean trick, boo! WHERE'S THE BANANA IN BANANE VANILLE?!
With all this taken into consideration and if it were a showdown, an 'either or' situation, then my vote goes to Celline Elena's kooky but surprisingly elegant, well rounded and creamy 'Bana Banana' for L'Artisan Parfumer. It kind of reminds me of slightly unripe plantains mixed with expensive hotels, ice cream and those foam banana sweets. It also reminds me of YSL's 'Yvresse' for some reason. There's a mild echo of past effervessence, like champagne and bon bons. I was lucky to buy it when it was on sale on the brand's website. I'd love to know which one you ended up liking the most and why. xo :)

I have 3 comptoir sud pacifique scents and while they all smell yummy, they don't last. That's eau de toilette for ya. I have been eyeing Bana Banana.

I saw BiG Beard talking about Vanille Banan the other day. I was actually shocked. In my opinion Bana Banana smells more unisex than Vanille Banan. However I didn't want my man smelling like either of them 🤣🤣😂
