My interpretation/understanding of this show are the memories of the man on the table. As the time gradates from slower to quicker, is their romance growing. As it get faster there is conflict, as with all relationships. Life gets hectic. There is something wrong with her. The last is him rocking in the chair, reminiscing about moments of their lives together. She is lying dead in the mortuary to be prepared to be embalmed. It’s amazing what each individual gets from the same show. But what do I know? I’m an IA judge.
Maybe you could interview Karl Lowe or another staff member to have them explain the intent of the show. That would be FUN to watch!!

Omg I love it. I didn't even CONSIDER this to be a love story! I totally took this as a societal story! That's awesome. That's what I was saying when I say "art is subjective".

As a drummer this is great content. Guard is alien to me.

I couldn’t tell you anything. I’m dumber than rocks when it comes to understanding concepts.
Scholastic champs are a good source of material too. James Logan, Carmel, Avon.
Would love to hear a more repertoire focused analysis/review of anything.
Excited for more content through this lens.

Jenn, I was a theatre costumer. Have so many questions about Corp costumes.

@@jenniferduenke1803 Are they wearing jazz shoes on the field? They must wear out fast walking on a variety of surfaces. Does the corp wear special shoes? The modern fabrics are so different than the old wool uniforms. Reminds me of costuming CATS. It was the first time the choreographer required dance belts for the guys to prevent injury from movement...and provided modesty. Do the corps wear dance belts with those spandex looking uniform pants? (Horror story: one of my theatre students lost a cajones due to a sports cup injury. After hearing that tale, all the guys eagerly wore their dance belts.) And kudos to the crew that keep white uniform pants clean and repaired!!!

@@DebbieWolgemuthso yes uniforms and costuming typically are no longer the old wool or even cotton blends. They tend to be more breathable athletic materials and spandex/Lycra types. Many of them can be screen printed now as well. Of course accessories and trim are still a variety of fabrics and materials. Most corps due utilize dance belts depending on the tailoring and fit of the pants or bibs. For the horn and drum lines, shoes are still an athletic marching shoes but with more flexibility than we had. A souped up jazz show with greater support. Guards may still wear a variety of dance shoe depending on their styling but very commonly it's still a jazz type shoes. And to dispell any rumors, the really money in uniforms is at the high school level. Corps typically don't pay for their uniforms because they are walking billboards for those companies who are trying to capture the thousands of high school band programs in our country.

You're the second to see this as a love story which I didn't even think of as the main through line but just an aspect of a societal story as a whole!
