If I want to buy donuts I'll get a 12 cinnamon & sugar for $4 from the supermarket. 10 seconds in the microwave & yummy with a cuppa. Mum would buy us fried donuts as a treat. I'd watch the dough be poured into oil & they'd be sprinkled with cinnamon & caster sugar. Had to wait until they cooled down
Krispy creme is still going but not many around they have some drive ins around melbourne and you can buy them from all 7 eleven but the problem is we have better donuts around that krispy creme same goes with starbucks we have way better coffee than what starbucks serves up
I live in Penrith Australia where the first Krispy Kreme's opened it was crazy the place was packed but as you said the price was outrages and people realised that it was just covered in sugar so people just stopped buying them same with Starbucks terrible coffee overpriced now we have Five Guy's another US burger joint that is over priced Five Guys - Cheeseburger. Popular. $21.50 ; Large Fries. Popular. $11.90 ; Bacon Cheeseburger. Popular. $24.50 ; Regular Fries. Popular. $9.50 ; Regular Cajun Fries. it will fail also. Peace out.
American cakes and donuts are mostly sugar. So sickening and they aren't even a proper donut like we are used to. If you use a US cake recipe you have to use 1/3 of the sugar. Krispy Kreme are sold in 7 eleven servos in WA.

I agree we also have five guys here and the one near me is pretty much always empty as the prices are outrageous
