I love it when one of your reactions to John pops up when I'm scrolling YT for craft and other videos. Jimmy Barnes - there are interviews, documentaries about Jimmy's career on YT - really worth viewing. And yes, anything by John always makes me happy as well... There are many singers I really like, and have got their albums, but none of them gives me the "happy" vibes. . John Farnham is one of the best Australian singers ever, in the top 3. I felt insulated when you thought he would not have a strong voice! Australian singer are at the top of natural talent and do not get the recognition they deserve!

Being a Catholic Primary School these children would have really heard the message ' :I'm standing with you' I've heard it said that one of those little ones thought it was about 'God telling them they are not alone' how gorgeous is that. John and Tom did a concert tour of Australia to sold out shows...they have performed together on Award shows wtc &the First time they met they sang this but John was so overwhelmed he was so star struck lol. It's hard to believe that John used to still get nervous singing in places like this....Never in his own concerts etc as well he mostly recognised people and thought of them as family lol much more laid back....but here where he is singing before and after other great singers etc....he still has that shyness and about...which is something to love.... This was one of two songs he performed....open air and oceans of faces with their candles burning bright.....a gorgeous site...

The thing that probably hurt most was being treated as less than by veterans of earlier wars because there was no actual declaration of war, so they weren’t considered’proper’ veterans by the others, let alone the government, until much, much later.

I understand you saying you can't get enough of him. I've listened to him every day for 50+ years, and I still can't get enough of him. His voice transports me to a magical place.

ACDC play at end of year school social. 1975 or something. I saw Split Endz play about 1973-4 only about 4 people there. I brought their first album Mental Note and got the whole band to sign it.

My grand father lost a leg in the First World War. 2 of his brothers didn't return from the war, he was physically and every which way knocked around so much that he took his own life when my dad was only 11 years old. War is never easy.

As per a lot of comments here, this list is really subjective and hardly representative of Australian music overall. There are many great Aussie songs not mentioned, which really need to be included. No doubt your individual taste will influence which Aussie songs should be included, but I am sure that your opinion will better help represent Aussie music overall than what appears here.

For anyone saying Crowded House aren’t Australian actually check out where they were formed They were formed in Melbourne And one founding member was from Zealand Neil Finn is a Kiwi Spit Enz was a Kiwi band but Crowded House are not If they’re considered a Kiwi band then Cold Chisel is a Scottish band And I guess Australians Nick Seymour and Paul Hester don’t matter

The RFDS are the only reason I'm alive today. I was pulled into the water by a 13ft Saltwater Crocodile and had my right hip basically ripped off. My mate had his shotgun (he had a permit) and shot it while it was death rolling me. If the RFDS didn't come and grab me, I would have died for sure. I always donate to them every month now.
