I mean it makes sense that the stones are reduced to energy beams in Uatu's realm, since it's going to take the stones' energy to simply be there in the first place, in a place beyond space time and reality
It's also important to note, the mind stone in Vision's head was slightly disconnected due to Shuri trying to remove it so Vision wasn't at full strength when Thanos arrived in Infinity War/
One thing I thought was interesting about Strange's line about breaking oaths is that Strange broke his oath to do no harm when he devoured all of the extraplanar beings. And Strange broke his oath for the Heart he lost in Christine and Uatu said this story breaks his Heart (foreshadowing that he'll break his oath not to interfere but in the same way that strange failed Uatu won't be able to repair the multiverse).

All the things Ultron did with the stones just shows how humble Thanos was with the snap. Didnt abuse them more than what he intended, and destroyed them when he finished

Romanoff's "Need a hand?" pun at the beginning of the episode might've also been a slight nod to Tony Stark's "Veronica, give me a hand" line from Age of Ultron
I think if you look at the multiversal timeline as something nonlinear, the watcher being seen by ultron happens for the watcher after invading party thor land, but for ultron before the invasion, The watcher seeing the invasion prompts him to look at the story of where he came from, and is startled to realize the origin of the infinity ultron. @@IsabellaCV And we don't know the true outcome of episode 2 yet.
Yep they made him the Vision in this series.
@@elijahulrich2023 ah yes find flaws in a simple joke
I find it weird that no one even considers Thanos sacrificing Nebula instead of Gamora.
In his own twisted way Thanos loved both his daughters.
You spoke my words.
Sigh. Wtf
His biggest problem then was malfunctioning phasing.
Oh shiz, I love this analysis. I'm eager to see if they follow through with what you've described here!
Ultra vision probably would’ve “ used the stones to destroy the stones .“ hadn’t watcher said anything I really think of this as a Peter quil moment on titan
The watcher needs to narrate, also it was nebula who caused the peter quill moment on titan
All the things Ultron did with the stones just shows how humble Thanos was with the snap. Didnt abuse them more than what he intended, and destroyed them when he finished
Yeah in mcu lol the comic he’s ruthless
@@Ninjersey1 who cares...this isn't the comics.

Dr Strange Supreme: You cannot live with your failures, where did that bring you? Back to me
Watcher : I know that reference
OMG!!! Great catch! End Game reference! Nice!
During the scene where Hawkeye sacrifices himself, you can see nat kneel down almost the exact same way Clint did in endgame. Also when ultron try to Crack open the watchers head, it looks like the scene where Thanos cracks open ultras head.
I'm still shaken from watching this episode. Ultron hearing The Watcher made my heart sank. OMG
That Ultron turning around and saying “I see you” may be a reference to that fourth wall breaking image
This makes that stare just a little more frightening lol
Basking in the boundless silence of his universe, Ultron ascended to a previously unattainable level of consciousness. He became aware of another. He became aware of the-
of the what? the watcher?
Yea
Yeah, isn't that obvious?
They're really out here killing my favourite characters the dumbest ways possible 😭
And Hawkeye gets to go with a BANG
He really can't catch a break from puns can he
Dr. Strange Supreme: "I did the worst thing ever, I destroyed my universe!"
Infinity Ultron: "Hold my 🍺 beer."
I heard that Infinity Stones lose their powers outside of their own universe, but the MCU stones seemed to just reduce their usefulness to energy blasts. So they seem more powerful than other stones.
In the beginning of the episode, in the intro, where he says “I am the watcher,” his once white outline, it’s now somewhat brown.
If the next episode isn’t called “what if the watcher interfered” I’m gonna be very upset
love that title
Indeed. Great idea.
Or better…. “What if……. I, intervened”
I think the watcher has seen like the "Sacred timeline" for each universe and so when he speaks, he speaks at the time of the event happening but then sometimes a branch occurs and catches him off guard.
I love Uato's reaction when he realized that Ultron was talking about him
(You could 100% tell that Uato was freaked out)
Yep, it’s also creepy as a irl viewer. It’s like he’s reading a book/watching a movie as normal (kinds like how these episodes are self contained) and the book/movie mentions you or actually affects you irl
That whole “it’s right there” by the Watcher had me cracking up…lol
When someone goes to the cinema for the first time in their life, and starts giving notices to the character.
"Super efficient robot brain, master the stone to full potential, wield the stone so perfectly" I love these!!! .
Marvel trying to break the multiverse in literally every way possible is giving me anxiety

The Watcher Vs UltronVision putting up these hands were just absolutely so thrilling to watch legit
I underrated his attacking power
What if Nebula was the daughter Thanos loved in this universe which is why we see Gamora alive. Thanos sacrificed Nebula in order to obtain the soul stone.
i think erik's point was that thanos didn't love nebula, but i guess maybe in this universe he did.
@@satansapartments that’s what I mean though- in this reality nebula was the one he loved. Potentially, I mean. Since it doesn’t specifically say that I’m just speculating
Or worse, Thanos threatened someone to sacrifice a love one then take the stone from that person.
@@nocturnal7345 I can dig it
Do you think the whole series could've been the watcher showing Strange Supreme the different realities. Which then would lead to Strange and the watcher recruiting everyone to fight Ultron
Watcher recruiting Multiversal Avengers. Damn!
That would explain the Watcher going "This particular story breaks my heart" right? because he's saying that to Strange Supreme
I'm always amazed at how insanely fast you guys get these high quality breakdowns out after the episode! Fantastic job as always!!
17:59 it also makes Clint look like an angel descending from heaven to fight the many devils of hell.
What I also noticed about the Clint vs the whole army shot was that it looked very similar to hella versus the valkaries
Tony and Uatu using the same “you don’t have to do this” blew my mind! Another amazing video!
I think it would have been just a little more believable, Ultron killing Thanos, if Ultron had shot the beam directly at Thanoss brain and sliced him downward. Plus it would align with Infinity War when he says, " You should've gone for the head!"
Agree
Then he would’ve dodged it?
He didn’t dodge it the first time
@@MartinG-zk1px a beam coming at your head? Might be easier to see. This. It came up from under him...
@@genghisgalahad8465 it took exactly 1 second to kill Thanos, if he aimed for the head he would’ve killed him instantly. I doubt Thanos would be able to dodge it
Ultron couldn't use the nukes in sacred timeline because jarvis was stopping him, not because he thought throwing rocks was cooler.
so in terms of tech stuff Jarvis is stronger?
Didn’t think about that, you have a point
@@justsomeordinarywatcher3146 Strong, maybe not stronger. He did enough to change ultron’s mind, but it took the combined efforts of the Avengers to defeat him
I feel like the watcher kept talking because he was reading the script of the story but it was altered for some reason and he didn’t know until it was too late
“One IBM from Texas…”
Me, a Texan: heh heh
“Is heading for Wakanda”

another endgame parallel: clint and nat being greeted by zola similarly to how red skull greets them on vormir

yeah, 2 blinks in quick succession is a crazy amount more than 0 blinks for 6 episodes
10:27 basking in the boundless silence of his universe, Ultron ascended to a previously unattainable level of consciousness.. he became aware of another... He became aware of the Watcher. -- Woopsie!
Now that I see what ultron is doing with the stones, think about how humble Thanos was being
Not comic Thanos lol he killed billions, every hero and cosmic beings except Surfer,Warlock, and Strange
That’s bc ultron has Tony Stark in him, much more arrogant than Thanos.

So what this episode ultimately established... There's a very real possibility a genocidal robot and a CeeLo Green/Caillou love child could burst into our reality at any moment.
This episode was top tier, we need a the watcher spin off 💯
This is basically it 😂🤣 Uatu doesn’t do muchhh more in the comics than he is now so I’d say we have one
@@J.O.R.D we need a spin off spinning off then😂

This was easily my favorite episode of What If so far. The season finale is going to be EPIC!
Romanoff's "Need a hand?" pun at the beginning of the episode might've also been a slight nod to Tony Stark's "Veronica, give me a hand" line from Age of Ultron
Ultron: " I thought you'd be bigger. " "Your definitely the one "
The Watcher: " leave my HOME! "
I get that reference
Ultron: "What is it, what do you think you're afraid i'll find"

@@ghst8219 Yup. Honestly it's literally one of the most iconic sentence/quote in the game. It's hard for people not to know what game it's from.
Ultron punchin Watcher thru all the multiverse was dope as hell…
I think if you look at the multiversal timeline as something nonlinear, the watcher being seen by ultron happens for the watcher after invading party thor land, but for ultron before the invasion, The watcher seeing the invasion prompts him to look at the story of where he came from, and is startled to realize the origin of the infinity ultron. Kind of like a grandfather paradox situation
The Mind Stone may have been so powerful in this episode because ultrons mind was literally the size of the Internet
Exactly...I contend that the power of the mind stone is in proportion to the "intelligence/knowledge" of the stoneholder...who is gonna be more knowledgeable or intelligent that a walking talking internet?...I think that is how he took out Thanos in one shot.
That's not how that works... Well suppose to.
Tony: there's a timeline where I died by zombies when I'm fully amoured, can't you believe that?
Thanos: said it yourself, I once died by a laser beam, when I have 5 infinity stones on my hand.
6:20
I like to think that Thanos sacrificed Ebony Maw for the Soul Stone. They seemed to have a very close relationship and Maw would’ve been far more willing than Gamora.
But how will thanos know the soul stone is in vormir but gamora only know the soul stone is in vormir
Ultron was absurdly powerful. Can’t wait to see the finale. This is absolutely insane.
10:51 when the Watcher is narrating, it sounds like he is reading (like a comic book) and that's why he stumbles when he reads '... the Watcher'.
It's pretty funny to see The Watcher have a more 'human,' less unfazable-cosmic-being reaction to something. "What the hell was that!?" And I swear I heard an "eep!" 😄
It doesn't necessarily need to be Thanos that sacrifices a loved one, it could just be a hostage with a family from somewhere, possibly Xandar
