Stan has been a game changer for my health. I watch a lot of his interviews and the information is the most useful of anyone in the business. Hands down. Sodium, sleep, all the micronutrient help made a huge difference for me.
Would like to see Rippetoe on the podcast in the future and have him go over his novice linear progression and why is his recommended squat form is often criticized
Well...You have famous instagram influencers (not mentioning his name), with doctorates, claiming (while virtually rotating the floor angle to the body) on a quarter squat, is 90 degrees and that this 90 degree angle squat will stave off all forms of injury while also providing the best stimulus for strength, power, and muscle growth. "Now buy my $350 dollar book!" A book that says all that Stan, Louie, Mark B, Rip, Meadows, and Tate teach is completely wrong.
I appreciate the honesty in admitting that fitness and health are two different things. Things like admitting that a high protein diet will actually decrease your life span should be said more often
@@zaahidmuhammed7770 Stan explains it better than I can at around 27:50. In short it would seem that high protein diets are optimal for performance while not being so good for longevity
One of the few coaches who applies the findings by the best researchers on nutrition, cites their name when explaining their concepts and doesn't marry to a label diet. Great to listen!
Stan the Rhino Efferding - say no more; Mark Smelly Bell - always the people’s coach; Andrew Keep’n it Reel’z - keep’n the rest of mortals tune’n in to the next installment... amazing content, the world owes this cast a debt of gratitude 🙏🏻
As someone who uses primarily chicken and Greek yogurt and protein powders as a source, this was definitely helpful. Gotta start eating more beef and bison for that added iron, zinc, and b12.
Thank you for this! I sprang my knee mid February, about 3 weeks into my new years resolution 😂. I'm finally at a point I can squat and went over for the squat cues on juji, no pain in my knees even though my sprang knee is still tender. I was squatting wide for the past 3 years and always dealing with aches and inflammation from an old injury in my left knee.
One friend is allergic to red meat. She is now eating all the things that do not give her allergies. Her skin is amazing, she lost weight easily and no bloat. I'm a natural vegetarian. I don't and never did like the taste of any animal. I don't eat fish, chicken, meat, shell fish etc. I love cheese butter and eggs but only egg whites. I wish I liked meat and egg yolk. Im happy to eat mostly vegan (vegan protein, no whey) and do not feel like I'm hungry or low energy. I'm often viewed as energetic and I have good fitness ( I was an aerial acrobat for 13 years) but I feel I cud be even better with meat (good grass fed meat). My sleep isn't best and I tend to get injured if not careful because of how naturally flexible I am (lifting in gym helps so much). I'm thinking I need to do 30 days if meat daily to just try and get over myself but I start to get nervous and I chicken out. My dad was a huge meat eater including liver, tripe, beef tongue etc. He tried feeding me every single thing including sashimi (raw fish. I am from hawaii). And the fish here is better according to visitors. I think my friend is just fine now that she isn't doing red meat (yes she's sad). But guessing I shud try and force feed myself??? For that 30 days as I mentioned... What wud u do short of tying me to the dinner table
Days that i eat lamb i feel powerful in the gym and bedroom. But moderately low carb. Carbs only around the training session - thats very important. High carb = tired and lazy, and also the benefits of meat i m sure get diminished.
For the normal, athletic person who does not do high level competition but wants to hit a happy medium between health and fitness, what do WE do? I'm quite a bit older than the guys that I work out with (65) and I'm still fitter than most of them but it's gotten nearly impossible to add mass and I'm just getting close to the squat and deadlifts of my 30's. What are balanced goals for the senior athlete?
You're getting close to squat and deadlifts of 30 years ago you're doing great, and you're an inspiration. Testosterone replacement therapy might be safe and a good way to go if you got a good doctor that won't prescribe too much or too little.
You would be surprised how many People lifting half of what he does at much more than that. The problem is jealousy and comparing human 1 to human 2 when humans is so different. Theres million of People taking anadrol but not many can be Stan Efferding
Not nearly the size he was, stop being such a fanboy. He's still huge. But just in the shoulders, there is a big difference than before. Ya can't keep that type of size forever.
I am 5'5" and about 165lbs. Do you think I would benefit more from the competition pad or the regular fat pad? I didn't know if the 14.5" might be too wide for me.
When he said most people can’t do 60 sets a week....Serge Nubret did 30 sets for one exercise in one session for one body part. I know he did a lot of speed lol.
Serge was a high volume work horse eating pounds of horse and as a lot of lifters in the 60s and 70s did amphetamines :) not recomended to try to emulate xD
Lets get these guys together to talk this out! It would be a pure Blood bath- Rashid Vrs Who?! I wish we could just sit back and relax our way through this crazy situation ,this, but it just isn’t true in my opinion. There are so many warning signs it’s just not funny anymore . We are being lied to. Pass along the message! It’s a small action you can take right now that might save your children.
@@MarkBellsPowerProject oh I forgot about that too! I rarely mention his name because it feeds into his delusions but I have been reading Mark's new book and my wife asked me if mark was jason blaha out of nowhere. I was like wtf no I only watch blaha parody videos lol there is no comparison. Then she said that he had 3 times as many subs as this channel.and I was blown away.
only because his channel is older and been around since youtube started, but not many watch it anymore, its a dying channel whereas this one is growing.
Stan is the one single person I trust in the fitness industry.
This podcast is like a classic album, I can re listen to it over and over again

The end of roasting Mark and Stan was the best. "Nothing's changed he is still a pre-madonna". "You really never saw any of my lifts?" CLASSIC s**t

Another great one from Stan. I'm doing strict carnivore for 60 days and I'll surely add white rice yogurt and orange juice after

What squat video are they referring to around 10:31 time?
MrBtbomber he often posts videos of him squatting 500+ lbs on instagram
Excellent

So this pertains to elite or aspiring elite athletes, right? So chicken and broccoli is still on for the dad bods?
Why does Stan look huger than ever?

You can tell stan is rich." 70 bucks an hr 5 days a week that's a good living ". I get by on 1/3 of that. I do ok.
30:34 - For anyone wanting a better understanding of this topic I recommend reading the book "Health at Every Size" by Linda Bacon, PhD.
Great podcast!
Told you Andrew how many times have I said we need Big Boi and the Strength Cartel on the podcast bud - co-signs from stan and Mendelson
So much for the bodybuilders being dumb meat heads stereotype. This guy more intelligently and informative than most doctors.
Seems to have an average IQ.
