Iqbaal is probably the best written male character and best lover in the history of bollywood. The way he makes his newly wed wife comfortable in his house first instead of right away jataofying his rights on her her was heart melting. Also, the way he empathizes with her after getting to know her reality despite feeling the pain and anger about her betrayal is just another level.
Key dialogues that shows how evolved he was as a person:
1. Log bhool jate hai ki hindustan tumhara ghar hai ( when his father is talking about destroying India)
2. Maine kabhi tumpe kaboo pane ki koshish nahi ki, aaj bhi nahi karoonga (when he confronts her after her truth is revealed)
The only other character who comes close to him is Rishi Ranjan from Grahan series. He too had the heart to love and accept Manu's as her reflection instead of treating the baby as a memory of his friend's betrayal.

@@parularya8470 I havent read Calling Sehmat. So commenting based on the movie. Another good thing that struck me about the movie was that they portrayed Alia's sasural as a very healthy functional family with everyone having a normal simple personal life. They did not unwantedly demonize them just because they reside on the other end of the border.
I feel bad only about one thing tht Iqbal died without knowing tht sehmat loved him

In the book he knew that she loved him and the events described in the book differ a lot from the movie.... In the book both of them knew she was pregnant before she got exposed.... In the book her first love was someone else.....
My eyes tear up with Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of Iqbal. What an angel of a husband, so kind/selfless and a tragic end.
Iqbal's life turned into something worse than a nightmare 😟; a gentleman like him, died without knowing🥺 that Sehmat didn't truly betray him but she too had loved him

A girl who devoted herself to her country...I don't know but I have a mixed of emotions about the story of sehmat..I want to be happy and proud knowing that a girl did so much for our country but I also feel sad for her life..I feel sad for her husband who loved her I feel sad for the fact that she had to live a life without the man who loved her so much and also thinking about the things she had done

Their story couldn't be because of the circumstances but I like to think that maybe in another life they had the chance to live a happy life and raise their son together.
I was reading "Calling Sehmat" few mins back and felt so depressed and sorry for Sehmat and then I convinced myself by thinking that maybe in next life Iqbal will be with Sehmat and they'll raise their son .....

As being a huge fan of Indian movies, this edit touched the soft spot of my heart. I have been watching your videos for a while now, and all of them are so beautiful and they deserve all the recognition. Raazi will always be one of my favourite movie even after years and years

Then Aby adopted her baby boy and gave him a Muslim name as he didn't wanted to change his religion. He remained unmarried and supported his adopted child. I don't know why he was not there in the film. He deserved to be known.

I love that you have started watching Indian movies right now. Raazi and sir with love mvs have been beautiful. If you really want to watch something very beautiful movies, the south Indian movies are the best and ahead in that. You seriously need to watch fidaa, oh my kaduvle

You should totally do more Bollywood movies! God knows we need representation haha. I'd recommend Devdas, Bajirao Mastani and Padmavaat. The aesthetics and emotion are beautifully conveyed, they're iconic movies!

The thing not shown in the movie is that Iqbal was not Sehmat's first love. She loved Abhinav(not the real name )and after that she started loving Iqbal but she loved her country more than him and when she gave birth to Samar then Abhinav came to her and he only adopted Samar because Sehmat was not in the mental condition to raise her child.

She didn't chose RAW. RAW chose her. Read "Calling Sehmat", you would know how much depressed she was after these incidents and how her life changed. All incidents shown in movie aren't real.

I was reading this book few mins back and felt se depressed and sorry about Sehmat
People can live peacefully if such good hearted people takes power in their own hands and improve relationship with neighbouring countries instead of following those who wants war and destroyed life of so many innocent people.

Girl go and read the book just judging the whole after watching movie is a plain stupidity
It's messed up but sometimes it's necessary. In the book it's kinda worse considering how she does more or less annihilate the whole family , even if she is carrying the next generation.

I Loved this movies but its portrayal of the aftermath within sehmat is so much different from wat actually happened to sehmat. No she was not fragile, she was not guilty. Rather she was very much proud. Yeah she suffered from PTSD but she knew she put her country first! And was very proud cz she was raised like that.

Man . . . the ONE time I like romance in a Bollywood movie it ends up like . . . this. But a happy ending, as much as I wish it could've been, would've just been unrealistic. Iqbal was the greenest of green flags.
