Looks like you had a lot of fun doing the intro. 😄 Fantastic build too. I would like to do something similar, but with the 32-core 7970x which is more in my price range. Looking forward to seeing some CPU+mobo combo discounts before I pull the trigger.
Let me tell you, you are on another level compared to all the RUclipsrs who make videos on hardware. Top notch quality! Watching your videos is always a pleasure, even if I will never spend €9500 on my next PC. Warm greetings from Genoa, Italy.
The problem is Premiere Pro, not the GPUs . The same setup on Resolve works perfectly fine, since you can arrange the utilization of both (or more) GPUs as you want. I have dual RTX 30 series + ARC A380 just for AV1 encoding and the Quicksync does all the Hardware decoding without letting the NVENC/NVDEC interfere. You need the Resolve Studio though for such flexibility.
I've used TP to clean off thermal paste for about 20 years now. It's never had any negative effect. Just have half a working brain and remove any excess lint if some happens to stick around (which hardly ever happens).
YOU DID IT! results pretty much as expected, but it's an abomination with potential. can't really blame developers for not supporting this much, as it is uber niche. hopefully they will down the road
Best option for encoding/decoding certain Intel exclusive formats on a system running amd cpu's. I have heard that QuickTime is kinda...uhhh...funky on those ARC770 GPU's, but it's an option with a 16GB frame buffer as a 2nd GPU.
You need 11 slots on back to support these threadripper boards properly. Case designs need to get much bigger to accomodate more pci slots with larger cards.
The Fractal Define 7 XL has 9 and there are some niche cases meant to work with multi GPU's that would probably work but an unfortunate truth is these boards are designed around blower style GPU's which is why you usually get 2 slot spacing.
@nadtz plus you'd have to add a new motherboard standard to accommodate the 2.5+ slot GPUs. Like, even bigger than XL-ATX, amd those are already rare. What we really need are more AIO variants of these cards (Sapphire, Gigabyte! 🤬🤬🤬), or more exotic cooling.
After watching this video, one thing I now understand is that ignoring Adobe's general unwillingness to better optimize their software, the threadripper, while it may not be the best at these workloads, can do all of them AT ONCE. This is hugely important because I push my i9 13900k, 4070ti workstation at work to the limit with Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, and After Effects, sometimes with all or most of these open at the same time.
You can get a torque wrench for installing the CPU but the included wrench makes that a lot easier since a decent small torque wrench can be kind of expensive for something you might never use again. You can also get 256gb DDR5 rdimms but they are like 3k+ a pop. Interesting case and nice try working with 2 different GPU's, hopefully that gets supported at some point. Beast of a system, even if I'd slap it in a boring workstation style case myself.
I was thinking to myself "let me check out the links to see if I can afford to somewhat build this..." just the CPU alone cost more then my entire set up lol
how would this pc do when running 80 vsts in fl studio? i bought the MSI Titan 18 HX with 128 gigs of ram. I still have bottle necking issues. want to be able to build a pc that can compile all the data I have when creating/ mixing and mastering music in real time.
One thing I don't understand is WHY other case manufactures don't have their front I/O on the bottom if they are designed for Desk Top use Like Thermaltake's Tower cases that you have to get up and stand to connect to the I/O. Love the case except for the Top Panel as I would rather have holes for exhaust or for the price they have add a mesh top panel with the case.
