In this world of warcraft classic video we dive into Mara, but this time we do it to level! We use the solo Mara 1 pull to level from 52-55 with potentially 160k+ xp/hr!!! You can keep using this to speed level to 56 and potentially even 57, but the experience will be less than it was previously. Don't worry though, we have another strategy for those levels coming up soon! This is one of the best speed leveling methods out there and results in incredible experience!!!
We use the typical Maraudon 1 Pull mage route, but supplement it with pots and consumables that allow us to be able to handle the entire run without issue! This allows us to get hundreds of experience from each mob, and when we're clearing 170+ mobs we're looking at leveling in under an hour per level.

As a gnome, when you swim, the mobs start evading, so u can actually just take the normal route and swim it.
how can you not die after the ice block? what skills do you use before the frost nova?

I've been at it for 13.5 hours today, full pots, full Eagle gear and there's no way this is being done reliably at 52... I'd love to see some of your runs when your gnome was 52 because its really really rough.
Same thing, tried all day at 54 spamming prot consumes + magic resist... at 106 NR. Not reliably possible. How?

Yeah, don't waste your time with this, I put about 2 hours and 20g in to this at both lvl 53 and 54 and it's just not doable at all IMO. First if you want to try it I highly recommend just starting purple and having less mobs because the reason you can't do it is because of the poison sprites in purple. Also there is a 2 sister pat that goes from the purple/orange Y to Cenarius and if they are walking up the ramp at the Y and you are lvl 54 you can't get past without pulling them and then it's a wipe. If you can manage just pulling purple from purple then you could extend it but unless you have like 200 NR I don't see how it's possible. You can't even make use of the NR protection pot as it'll get eaten up while you are grouping the mobs so by the time you'll need it to blizzard it'll be gone as you need to pop a resist potion at that point. The poison bolt has on-hit damage as well as the stacking dot so once your shield is down you can't blizz (unlike the corruptions) and thus can't slow the horde of mobs.
I did discover a modification to the Waterfall farm that I think extends it to much higher levels though. I did this at 53 though, but I think you could do it as low as 48. You do the standard worms + turtles then you go grab both packs of elite slimes past Cenarius. Take them back to the dry spot just after Cenarius and then do a nova/blizz rotation on them there, if any resist nova or if you run out of mana you jump off the little waterfall and head back down to the worm area. Once in the worm area you can get 3-4 blizz off on them as they come down the spiral ramp, once they are at the bottom nova them and run back up the ramp, across the bridge and then wait until they are almost to you and jump back down and repeat. You'll need to evo and/or double mana gem but they are a ton of XP each and you have 8-10 mobs.
I had the same issue with the ZF strat at 42, after wasting a ton of time decided to level to 44 and try it, still tough but much easier.

Hi Ogh, you mention at the start about having to go around the lake, or use an elixir of giants growth, these are both unnecessary (I do the normal route as Gnome without problem). The only difference is I have to make sure to stick to the edge of the path all the way pulling the slimes and shamblers, so as to not fall into the water and swim. But the swimming part at the start with the boars is not an issue as they stop at the bank, until you hit the shallow water and run, then they follow. Thanks again for the great content!
I was wondering , so instead of going right at the water you stick left the whole way ? Is there a way to by time when the sisters are on the ramp ?

If you haven’t tried the farm before I recommend staying at 54 first!
Can confirm I started my first runs at 54 still haven't cleared it but have made it like 3/4 of the way. It's not impossible. I imagine this is like goku with weighted clothes on. Once I hit 60 I can come back and it will be simple.

Hey Arlaeus, I know it's rather unlikely that you'll see and reply, but I have spent so much money and so much time trying to do this that I'm at my wits end. I'm level 53, human, and most likely way better geared than you are in this vid. Using level 60 Priest and Druid buffs, and finally, I've even tried skipping several of the parts that you do here to make it easier. No matter what I do... the mobs are just so spread out that even if I do make it back to the kill spot (Usually with less than half mana and 2 of 3 gems down)... they make it up the hill and kill me LONG before all the mobs are out of the tunnel. The biggest difference I've noticed is the part of the video right after Lord Viletongue. You jump down and have so much time to bliz mobs coming down the steps to get them all stacked up. For me the mobs are already massively spread out and I am forced to jump down before all the mobs are even on the steps in the first place. I do have speed on boots. I believe I will have this run down pat if I can just figure out how to get them stacked up like you do. Any help or coaching you could provide would be much appreciated.
Hey man I'm sorry it's been causing you so much difficulty! It's really important to make sure around that room you take wide turns to allow the mobs to group up. The best place is after you run up past the slimes and cavern shamblers into that small tunnel before you jump down. Take a wide route to the pack of satyrs that's on the far side once you run up the ramp then blink across down the straight away. Check out some of my more recent mara videos to see what i mean.

IF YOU PULL THE SISTERS: (5:14 the only frame you can see the tree) on the right side, 2nd tree in the water is a reset spot, jump on the tree and you will leave combat.

You should make a playlist consisting of all your videos of solo dungeon mage levelling guides. I'd definitely use that if I ever were to level a mage.
How are your slimes not resetting? I do even wait like 5 seconds after the drop (and not blinking) and they do still most of the times reset... Do you have a guess? (The big green bubble-thingis also pulled)
Honestly I unfortunately do not. I've heard theories and tested them all to no avail. I can keep some of the slimes, but a good bit still reset.
Hey Arlaeus, love this videos man. Juts as a piece of constructive criticism, I don't think you should advertise this as 52+ especially if you have not tried it at that level. Even if YOU can do it at level 52 having done hundreds if not thousands of pulls, chances are the average person watching the video can not do it. You have to think people are going to watch the video, spend hundreds of gold on gear, consumables, etc. Only to find out after hours and hours of wiping that they cannot do it. Like I said great videos, but something to consider!
Good point, it took me a couple days at 60 to get this down.
One last thing, if you can get a friend to help you kill Noxxion a few times, he drops some good stuff.

A trinket which is not unique, so you can equip in both trinket slots!
Right there you have 25 NR and the drop chance is pretty high. On 5-6 runs today the wand dropped (don't remember how many times, though) and 3 trinkets.
The little I've played in there was mostly when I tried to solo the bosses for the scepter, so I don't know if this will work when you have tons of mobs after you, but at that tree to the right (at this point you are running up the stairs), at 11:21, I randomly jumped between it, and resetted the boss and his adds.

Which of your videos have a pull, that I, as a fairly experienced mage (level 60), with pretty good gear, could follow, but have never done the pull itself? Like which is the best noob (at least in Maraudon) friendly video that I can follow exactly (pause here and there) but the pull is a bit easier than 220+ mobs?
Just this, or because I'm level 60 I should focus on another video for that?
I have just aquired maybe 72 NR without speccing in the arcane tree. Just on gear, that is. Is it enough?

Can't help thinking your experience doing thee kinds of huge pulls is a major factor in how you're able to consistently do it so well and so easily. That said, they've been great at showing me what's possible. Hoping by practicing in some lower level instance with my now 59 mage, I can use the skills to help guildies level faster
As I read comments I definitely think you’re right. I was able to almost pull it off without consumables at 54, but I think a lot of that is from practice. Good luck with the farms man!

Please i have a question mate. I've done Maraudon many many many times, and its very smooth, i have a great reputation on my realm for this boost, Considered the best by many.
But Tonight.. tonight i did 4 runs, and all of them were complete CHAOS. the mobs got too spread out when i used blizzard, EVERY time there was atleast 1 or 2 mobs running straight through my blizzard and didnt even get hit, in one run, i killed every mob & the imps died unfortunately so i got oom, and there was 3 mobs left with 60-65% hp, like i didnt even touch them. What is this all about? I have not witnessed this before at all! Does this have something with the layering? or some kind of server lag? Best Regards, btw you got great content.

Dude, you have to talk about how you get across this water at 6:05, i understand the problem with not pulling the sisters, but this water gap for maybe just gnomes is nearly impossible, most of my runs have boiled down to if i can actually cross this small area of water or not. Most of my blinks here actually reset me into the same spot causing a distance loss
Ive mastered your ZF guide and get almost 2 levels in 1 hour already, at 46 atm. You reckon i should go do this at 52 and then go DM at 55?

Bc i specced out of it long ago and it seemed to have no impact whatsoever.

Yes do the runs without mobs first and just get used to it so that when you go back through it with mobs you aren't worrying about where to run
Took me a whole day practicing the pulls and to get them stacked good enough. With 114nr buffed/potted I still can't kill them. I use the all res pot, Nr pot, SR pot, my barriers. but all is gone so quick and the imps fucking my blizzards up then that it seems impossible at 54 for me.
I have the exact same experience. I don't see this being reliable or even feasible to do at 54.

Hey Arlaeus! I recently published my first BRD pull Video - and was thinking: what about leveling in BRD, pulling garrison and killing it on the ledge?
hard to do with gnome - but could split that pull and potentially do a crazy amount of mobs, which can be around your level (mobs are 49-52, so going in with 52 should be NP too)
What do you think of that?
With an insane route, 1-60 in one sitting might be in reach soon..
It’s definitely a good option! Only hard part is you need someone to open the door with you or you need shadow forge key which takes a bit to get

Hey man!! Thanks for all your guides, I started boosting with my 60 mage 2 weeks ago and thanks to your videos now i can 1 pull pretty much everything, so really a big thanks to you!! Since i really trust your experience, i'd love to have your opinion about this: I had a request from a guy to boost him from lvl 10 to 60 going through deadmines, stockades, scarlet monastery and maraudon. On my server the boosts costs 2g for dm, 2g for stock, 8g for cath+armory, and 10g for maraudon. What you think would be a fair price to let him pay for a boost till lvl 60 if we go just the two of us? And if we get a full party everytime instead how much you think i should ask him? Hope you can figure out a fair price, you're the only one i'd trust for that! Thanks again for your work here on youtube and on twitch, you're doing great, keep doing it!! :))
Hey man so for a fair price 10-60 i'd say somewhere between 1500 and 2000g. That being said, Mara will only get you to 50-52, so you'll have to include strat in that figure. Without strat (stopping at 50) I'd say something around 1.2k. Thank you for the support :)

For anyone who might be reading this around the time this was posted or beyond. They NERFED the protection potions from 1 hr too 2 mins. Do with that information as you will.

If you get your main to be in your group, you can open yourself a portal. Just have a friend invite your main+alt to a group.

What does this mean? You can get into mara through the portal without the sceptre if your main is in the group and has it, even when logged off?
@@scunnered5745 Correct. Get on your main, make the portal, log onto your alt and enter it. You will have to have someone else invite you and your main to a group however. Once you log out and reset yourself, you will be at the waterfall.

Finding this near impossible at level 54. The pull itself is easy but I'm being melted by the poison bolts - my nature pot disappears almost instantly (I have the MR pot popped too). I have 87 nature resistance.
Yeah man, I've tried this pull a dozen times at 52,53, and 54 with all the right consumes. I just don't see how its possible to resist enough. I'm also sitting at 116 NR with MR pot. I get to the kill phase and they just burn through the shields and NR/SR pots. Wish you would have had a video that had you at 52-54 to show it can be done.

Experience wise or selling wise? You do this solo and so I'm assuming experience. At 52 it's around 40k xp/run
8:45 I've had hours of failure running up this ramp and clumping with blizzard because there's a tree mob walking along this path. He's always somewhere from the ramp to my blizzard spot. I've tried to nova him to keep him off but it's just not enough time. Ideas? :(
The tree is handled by blinking through it if not near the standing location for blizzard, and using nova to hold it off if nearby.

Would getting a level 30 in the group help or hinder exp? You won’t get solo exp but average level will be closer
It will hinder the xp as soon as you have another person in the group

Just a warrning to you all who think you can get easy levels. NO! This is not possible! Unless you have years of experience as a mage then... maybe. Otherwise stay away form maraudon at low levels. I tried to do this at level 53. The scale of difficulty is out of this world. You will NOT be able to do this. I wasted 2 days on this, died so much a broke my gear completly multiple times. You cannot "counter" the level difference with a potion, you will get mauled so hard you will get maraudon nightmares like i do today.
Level 54, now with 108 nature resistance, with all the best gear i could find on AH and all the consumables - NOT possible to do Maraudon at this level. Its been 5 days of struggle.

Finding this impossible right now. Level 54, 2.7k hp, 4.6k mana, 128 NR with resistance pot active. I am able to get a few blizzards in on the kill phase and then the poison sprites get through my normal nature protection potion and ice barrier, start interrupting blizzard and it's game over. I have no potion CD at that point due to having just popped the resistance pot. I can try resetting but some of the spites and borers get low from those blizzards, lag behind, and make it impossible to reset.
I have no idea how your nature protection pot stays up. Gonna test if I can do it with a greater nature pot, but they're 7g each on my server, which makes this horribly expensive.
Update - tried again, this time pre-popping GREATER Nature & Shadow protection pots. Got a good pull minus a couple of packs. Full HP, half mana to start the kill phase. I kept back a bit further to let the sprites come up the ramp, hoping this would slow their damage down a bit. Got several blizzards off, some non-elites start dying. Greater Nature pot breaks, re-cast ice barrier, it breaks to sprites a few seconds later, game over.
If you seriously only successfully tested this at 57, and died on your lvl 53 attempt because you didn't have pots, I'm not sure it's a good idea to be posting vids like this claiming it can be done that low.
I guess I would have to kill some of the sprites off; but how can that be done whilst maintaining blizzard debuff on the main pack?
Make sure that you’re stepping to the left during the kill phase and not hust eating all of the damage from the sprites. When I was 54 or 53 (can’t remember which) I didn’t have consumables or glowing bright wood staff so 30 something NR and got them all to around 5% on my stream. That being said I do have practice with this pull. The kill phase it’s very important to get the imps in the middle of the group and by the time you have the elites getting to 25-30% all the imps or the great majority will be dead
I do not enjoy this video, because it's not solo leveling if it requires an attunement with multiple people first. What is a good way to level from 52+ without Mara and the sceptre?

doesn't mention that borers can hit you from 30feet away when they aren't above or under you or that the tree's can stun you and KO your run

You can buy you need swim speed pots or giant growth!
This is pretty much impossible at 52. your Icebarrier breaks to fast, you get dazed, you body-pull mobs really early and take a ton of extra damage
It's the same rank of ice barrier as well as the same armor I had in this video. Slightly less damage due to the level difference, but a minor difference
@@arlaeus9491 when you body pull the green slimes by the sisters they dont even notice you until your using frost nova. When your 52 they see you early and run towards you and hitting you for huge damage. you can maybe nova a pack or cone of cold a pack but its very hard to not die- I use everything, potions and stuff. I once made it to the kill phase and just died due to damage. I have resist gear on and everything. im 54 now and its much more easy mainy because of reduced aggro range.

for me there are way to much factors that can go wrong. did about 20 runs and had about 15 different reasons for failing.

I tired this at 54 with 110 nature resist and the imps hit too hard even with nature protection pots on. Maybe if you could kill some of the imps at the start it could work.
Ok, I tried it again, killed all the imps at the end first (5 green ones) then started the pull as normal. I also didn’t pull all the packs that had imps, I probably left 3 packs. I will try again tomorrow but I want to get more nature resistance. 140 resistance with the magic resist pot would be helpful.
What do you do when you die? Am I able to port in the same way I entered with scepter?
Unfortunately not, you have to go back into purple and then go to the scepter from there
So ive got a 60 mage that I do this on, I fail maybe 1 in 25 runs, doing this on a 54 was almost impossible but at 55 it was fine, had 50 sr and nr without using the magic resistance potion, but the amount of damage that comes out of the imps without getting a perfect grouping and re-positioning is so hard to deal with, using greaters would obviously make it more possible, but its insanely hard and I absolutely wouldnt recomend trying to learn mara 1 pulls with anything but a 60, maybe if you level a second mage like I am it can definately be of use but its ridiculously hard even having done 100+ runs as 60
Still a great guide, and good strategy.
Yes I wouldn’t recommend learning with this strategy either. This is for someone with experience with the run. It can be done for someone new, however it will take a while and a good amount of xp loss to learn it

Can this be done after nerf?
trying all these out - I have bad news. It all good and shiny to see mages who is used to it do it like its easy. For now zulfarac the easiest farm spot. As for the SM - slow gets me killed too often and having a lot of mobs on you does not help). As for the Maraudon princes kills and other mobs farm is not so easy too. Probably it is because I am missing speed enchant and some understanding on proper rotation and kiting techniques. Well gotta git good )

You need stam int for sure. Of the eagle
dont waste your time, or money people....im trying this with 89 shadow resis, 95 nature with my magic resist pot up, i instantly have 6 corruptions on me after i block off the first 5. just go AOE grind....itsll be faster. i promise.

i just did this at 55 but i had to go around a few times and the xp was about 1.4 bars. I had only of the eagle gear and no resistance just potions. Ive done this at 60 about 200 times so that was the only way I was able to pull this off. Not worth the effort at all.
Is there no repairbot in classic for engineers which you could sell to?
There is but they cost about 20g to make

I am lvl 54 now and i get interrupted by poison bolts and corruptions. I have 78 natur resistance (+50 from pot) and i used nature and shadow protection potion. I cannot cast a single blizzard without beeing interrupted. When i use icebarrier, it breaks in one global. Am i missing something?
Same. I think it'd be good if he explains where we're meant to keep the poison sprites; letting them sit at the bottom firing away gets me killed within a few blizzards. I guess the idea is to kill them with the main pack but get enough mana back from them to deal with the rest? It's kind of what he does here.
Make sure that you’re LOSing the sprites to bring them into the pack. I didn’t go into all the specifics of the strat in the video because I have a couple other videos diving into the minute details like that. Step left after your first blizzard to start dragging them up the stairs. They group with the rest of the mobs and you can get them down. If you need to wait for ice barrier swap to rank 1 blizzard because as long as you get a tick off you’ll be good. If you’re overrun use the smal reset to wait until you have pots or barriers up
I tried this for about 5 hours, i was able to get the pull down but the protection potions are just not enough at level 53. I have 104 nature resist.. ill try again at 55 lmao
The video title was a little misleading, disappointed as you were 57 doing this while suggesting a 52 can do it. :(
Sorry I didn’t record it at 52! I was doing the ZF leveling but I’ll be live streaming it with my undead mage once he hits 52! I wanted to get the strat out though for anyone who wants to do the farm. The difference between a 52 and 57 isn’t massive if using consumables
