    well, ok, but the main response to helminths is by Th2...

  • @FarmersKnowScience
    @FarmersKnowScience 3 года назад +4

    What about Th2 cells ?? They are a major recruiter of Eosinophils and mast cells. Th1 cells shut down the IgE pathway, so this is also incorrect.

    Hi!
    Thank you so much for making this video!
    Could you explain which cells get rid of the parasitic parts after lysis? thank you so much!

    Hi, thank you for your video. I'm just wondering why you incorporated the classical pathway as the mechanism that leads to the lysis of the pathogen (which is the helminth) when the main Ig that's activated here is IgE. It's based on literature that IgE doesn't activate classical pathway. I hope you can elaborate as to why you included the classical pathway here.
    Thank you

      It s true that IgE does not activate the complement. But there is indeed some generation of IgG from Plasma cells which are not effective in removing th parasite and actually lead to chronic inflammation and persistence of th infection. Hope this helps.

    When parasites or viruses seek a host to invade or infect the habitat and environment for that organism to survive in has to be ideal for the host to survive hence the reason most parasites die if the environment is not ideal for them to live or survive in that host being human body

    how does the immune system react to tapeworms? would it ignore them as they can live in us for years? is only the innate system a defense against tapeworms

    • @johnnyblaze9217
      @johnnyblaze9217 10 месяцев назад

      No, the immune system is 100% capable of detecting and destroying tapeworms
