- This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 73rd anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. This parade would introduce Rosgvardia units and the SU-57 fighter. Taking the salute is Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu. Commanding the parade is Supreme Commander of the Russian Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleg Salyukov. Music performed by the Central Military Band conducted by Colonel Timofey Mayakin.

Unfortunately, the title of the march "Да здравствует наша держава" has not been translated correctly. The word "держава" is more correctly translated as a "state" or a "country".

I have to express my reservations when it comes to the 'drill' at the end of the parade.
It just doesn't sit quite right with me - especially for this sort of parade.
This 'majorets' show (excuse the term) is just one step away from contemporary tunes being introduced - something I would dread.
I am just glad to see that the President also didn't seem too impressed.
I hope this part of the parade gets scrapped with immediate effect.

I’m impressed by the late Soviet-esque uniforms of the Saratov Military Institute from 50:39 onwards. Peaked caps, jackboots, shirt and tie. Anyone have any insight into this?
They are part of Rosgvardia, these troops are directly subordinate to the office of the President, not the Ministry of Defense. In essence, they are Putin's Praetorian. Their primary mission is to secure borders, take charge of gun control, combat terrorism, organized crime, protect public order and guard important state facilities, while directly reporting to the President of the Russian Federation.

after I saw the Minister of Defense make the sign of the cross, I realized that there is a State that will save us..
In the rehearsals of April 27 and May 4, the speaker of the parade commented about the Great Patriotic War after announcing the passage of the Flag of Russia and the Flag of Victory (as happened in other parades). However, in the general rehearsal and parade this didn't happened. Does anyone know any reason for this? Greetings from Brazil!

a point of interest are the one part of soviet era uniform accoutrements that are still being worn , that Is the officers parade daggers, belts and hangers , I was interested to know however if anyone can tell me about the dagger worn by the air forces officer( 1.20.03) and the one worn by the officer in the black uniform( 1.22.42) . I saw five daggers in all that were , or appeared not to be the usual issue sidearm as Putin moved along the rank at the end of the parade. they might possibly be private purchase or special presentation pieces but I would be interested in more information if anyone knows.

I really love Nakhimov March (starts at 36:30)... was it last played during the 1960's? Also, it would be nice to get rid of those berets, peaked caps looks good, even berets during Soviet times are better.

A lot of Tsarist/Russian imperial symbolism such as flags, cockades, music, and barely some uniforms are representative of the on going revival of Russian imperial heritage.
