- Bob i Harris (Duet) - Czar gitary [Spell Of The Guitar] Tango (V. Scotto - Z. Maciejowski) Ork. taneczna” Odeon” pod dyr. J. Gerta, Odeon 1936 (Polish). Repressed in 1945
NOTE:This tango was sung by Tino Rossi • Tino Rossi - Loin des ...
in a French musical comedy "Au son des guitares" [To the Sound of Guitars] about a young Corsican fisherman who falls in love with a tourist fascinated by his velvety smooth voice and follows her to Paris. There, he becomes a busker who sleeps in harsh conditions along the Seine and tries to make a living singing in nightclubs - until a happy ending, of course.
The Polish pre-war singing duo BOB & HARRIS consisted of two male singers: well-known singer Albert Harris and his friend, also a singer, Stefan Bober (aka "Stefan Bob"). Bob was also a lyricist and banjo-player who led a university jazz band called "Szał” [Frenzy] in Kraków in the late 1930s. The Bob & Harris duo recorded quite a few dance records for Odeon shortly before the outbreak of World War II.
The slideshow presents several vintage Polish paintings and photographs with a guitar.

Piękny tango
Beautiful Tango and Melody. Great voices and video. It's nice to hear the Great sound of violin and plucked guitar. Thank you so much for sharing another gem 💎 Dear Grzegorz. Have a blessed day 🙏🙋♂️🍀🎻🎸🎶🌺☀️
Thanks to Polish uploaders like you and a couple of others, I already knew these two amazingly refined vocalists in solo performances, but here, in this precious duet, they are outdoing themselves. Their performance of this lovely tango (well-known indeed in Tino Rossi's version) is absolutely exquisite! Thank you so much for presenting this gem :-)
Rumor has it that they were les amis amoureux in private, so perhaps this is a secret of their so an emotional performance...
