Consistency with skating is definitely a good trait - with social media it's easier to land tricks 1 out of 5 times but give the impression you land them every time. This method or approach to training for skating where if you drop a trick you practice until you land it three times crosses over to an approach I use with climbing. When you're working on a really hard long climb that might consist of multiple really difficult moves in a sequence - we call that a crux move, you might always fall at that crux move. It becomes easy for the brain to remember falling at that crux move and if you fall on it more times than you get it when working on the route, when you come to pull it all together, your brain remembers falling, more than it remembers doing the move. So one recommendation for climbers is that for every time they fall on a specific move, that they get back on and execute the move in isolation 3 times to 'grease the groove', which is a term used in other skill based sports like golf, so that the brain remembers executive that move successfully. To me, this totally makes sense in inline skating - greasing the groove to build up those trick 'engrams' in the brain and make them really consistent.
The spin part I found out the other week. I do a bit of mountain boarding and was going right side first, I tried spinning but couldn't. I decided to go left first and woop now I can spin. Anyway I have roller blades now and lots of learning. Great video 👍

Yeah wrist injuries suck. I honestly have broken my wrist multiple times. For me, I feel limited in my mobility when i wear wrist guards. Our hands and feet ar connected and i just feel off wearing em. I work on ground drills at the gym from mma to help strengthen my wrist and catching abilities. I will be h=going over some of these drills on my Patreon this fall, Maybe check it out 🙏

But just started to learn all the switch soul variations as well once I got the feel for switch souls a few weeks ago and switch acid really feels very weird to me as well. But its great fun to switch it up! Also: Heal up from that nasty fall on the face - ouch!
I got all those but the switch backside. That is terrifying. Same with topacid. I could switch topacid better than regular topacid actually. Top soul was the reverse. In my old age I dont really do alot of topsides anymore.
I’m all over the place with my dominant feet. I’m left handed but right footed and most of my tricks are right foot dominant but some things, like Makios, I’m completely left foot dominant, in fact, just the thought of trying a Makio with my right foot is freaking me out. Great video as always 👍🏽

jeah, i also builded a prail and we train on rainy days in a circus tent :) i got a trick - question: i am learnin a (self developed?) grind i never saw in my life. it is nearly a backside unity grind, but the front foot is in royale position while the backfoot is in position from the unity. is there a name for it? :D i am kind of strange hypermobility so maybe it is hard for people dont have that, but it came very natural some day and i think its gonna be one of my standars soon ;) thanks for all the how to's! This is news to me. I been skateboarding for 15 years. I just started learning Aggressive skating. I didn’t know there was a switch for aggressive skates. That’s pretty dope. I’m starting to like this a lot more the. Skateboarding and I love skateboarding
Blade is a brutal sport, I have been blade for years but objectively I see a big problem: beyond the physique, the position and the balance required to endure a grind, the issue is in what I call 'the eye of the eagle' 'Millimetric precision when nailing the trick is one of the most key factors and if you fail and fall, the fall can be legendary because this is not like skateboarding where the skate goes and you have time to react. In classic skating the swing is always present and in moments of falling it is very difficult to react to put your arms or move to the side of the fall because everything goes very fast. If you land on your feet in the fall, you are still in a bad state because you are almost certainly going to go backwards or forwards or go down the stairs horribly. That is why a falling rollerblade can be fatal or death even if protection is worn. I will never skate at a hardcore level for that matter. It's not fear. It's knowing the tragic consequences you can have with the blade. The few falls on your belly or chest that leave you without breathing. eggs ankles or sprains is the bread. I know that if the majority thought like me, there would not be great people like Broskow or Chris Hafey, but the reality is that it is easy to get away with it.
Hey Acosta, I built my p rail a few days ago and tried to get my first grind sesh in yesterday while watching this, I hit my first frontside (my first real grind) and i was pumped and wanted more since it was a bit slow so I went at it faster and harder this time, i must've locked in leaning too far back or didn't get low enough and i slid out instantly like a cartoon and landed right on the rail and fractured my humerus hahaha. The PVC pipe is really slick with no wax and just stalling on it i felt like i was going to slip and do the splits. My b for the long winded story but i was just wondering if you had any tips on how to slip out less, how to approach and how to fall when doing p rail sessions? I'm willing to fall and bust myself like this more I'm just trying to prep myself for the next time i hit the rails so i dont eat it right away haha. thanks for all the knowledge and helping me get to hit my first grind and hope your injury is healed up. 🙏
Ouch! That sounded rough, i would suggest wearing pads to help protect your self while learning new tricks. Its hard to say what exactly to do when it comes to falls because every fall is unique, but try leaning more forward than backwards in grinds and slides to prevent sliding out. Keep your arms and hands ready to catch. Another good tip is to get good at putting your wheels back under you before you fall so you can step and roll away, Thats a bit more technical but after falling for years you learn this trick. Hope you find these tips useful and get back out and skate soon!
Also, i teach people to stand both feet together, then i walk around them and *gently*, push them enough they take 1 step tocatch themselves. That foot they used to catch themselves is what I understand to be their instinctually dominant foot. Im right footed but spin left...

I was never so happy to be that guy who ALWAYS got his helmet on when rolling; cause the side of my skull bumped SO HARD on the concrete that day. Been blading for more than 20 years. I was not even flying & spinning. Just pumping hard in this local pumptrack I've pumped so many times.Bad falls just happen.To anyone (tip though: avoid agressive inline in them pumptracks, buy freeskates instead; I believe small wheels helped me slip that day). So here's my point: where's your brain saver, bro'? You may not consider yourself a master, but you got 26,4 k guys following you, that's huge. My kids are into skateparks too (scoot, though, snif). When I started insisting on this helmet thing, they started replying about trend and how other guys around don't wear helmets. I love your caps and they fit nice on you. But you'll look cool with an egg protector too, 'cause you're cool anyway. Bravo and thanks again for the content you bring here.
