These are my old stomping grounds, I grew up in that county and drove past all of those buildings in Villa Ridge and Pacific on a daily basis. Sometimes I take for granted the awesome history behind it. It makes me sad when I think of how it used to be back in the day.thanks for the video!
You're welcome @andrewnovak6591
I'm glad you like the video. Thank YOU for watching!!
1:30 HEY, WAIT A MINUTE! I work for CR, What truck number is that? And what's he doing there? BUSTED!
What’s CR @ereznok ??
And why’s he busted??
That was not the garden way. The garden way was about a quarter mile past the old diamonds hotel on the left. You were at the diamonds hotel
The boarded up building was the old tri county truck stop.
Thanks for the correction @jamesnaquin79 !! Other than that what’d you think of the video?
Missouri seems to have quite a few abandoned motels. Great video, Jeff!
Thanks Mace!! Wait’ll you see all the abandoned gas stations!! They’re amazing.
Hi Jeff!! Enjoying your video series so far as you travel The Mother Road. Just wanted to share some information about the Gardenway Motel segment in your video. The abandoned building you videoed was actually the Diamond Inn Motel and Restaurant which was being prepped for demolition at the time of your visit. Unfortunately, the Gardenway Motel just to the west and on the south side or Rt. 66 was torn down in May 2023.
Thanks for the correction @williambarnes6011 !! It's too bad they're all getting torn down instead of restored. I went to the Glancy Motel in OK just before it was torn down - it was amazing. Thanks again for watching!!
Hi William
This is Penny Black. I was just going to share the same info but, I see ya beat me to it😊
Thanks @@illinoy Penny!! What’d you think of the video??
Jeff - Did you skate the pool at the Gardenway Motel? Shhh - I won't tell anyone...
6:39 - Drain that pool!!
That would have been pretty cool right Steve buddy?!?
Wait'll you see the pool out in AZ in the middle of nowhere!!
You can almost smell the old motor oil in the old gas stations.
Almost right @smocko61 ?!?
What'd you think of the video?
Great video as usual, thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks so much Keeb!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Another awesome trip and video! Thanks for sharing Jeff.
You’re welcome redgoat!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
That looked like my Corvette on the billboard.
Which billboard are you talking about Brett??
Great to see you, Jeff! Keep bringing us all this good stuff!
Great seeing you too Brett buddy!! More Route 66 road-trip adventures to come so stay tuned.
The clock over Danny's Service Center's door has been in continuous operation for over 50 years minus a few times it received repair.
That's awesome!! Thanks @Jdub6580 !!
How do you know this??
@@jeffthisted spoke to the owner about it. It's pretty awesome looking. Thanks for uploading something from my home town!
Thank YOU for the cool history on the clock@@Jdub6580 !! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos.
The building past the gardenway motel was the Diamonds restaurant.
Thanks @dennishogenmiller4456
How do you know so much about this area?
@@jeffthisted I live in St. Louis county, MO. I have relatives in nearby Washington, MO. The roadway on the right side of the old Diamonds used to be MO100 highway. I also belong to the Route 66 association of Missouri.
Awesome!! Thanks@@dennishogenmiller4456 - I hope to see you out on old Route 66!!
Missouri must still be the 'Show Me' state... at least for old abandoned motels? :)
PS. Glad you made this one with a clean windshield.. :)
Wait’ll you see all the abandoned gas stations in the next few states Gary!!! I cleaned off the windshield just for you.
Thanks! :) @@jeffthisted
You’re welcome Gary!!
A 55yr Guy and a Hot 55 Chevy and always awesome places...first time I saw rain in your Video..👍👍👍🤠

The Shamrock Motel is being restored by the new owner who is also president of the Route 66 Association of Missouri.
That's great news @dennishogenmiller4456
Thanks for sharing. When will it be ready for visitors?
@@jeffthisted He is a busy person. He lives in St. Charles county, MO. He owns a paving company.
Maybe late in year (wild guess)
That's awesome@@dennishogenmiller4456 Thanks again for the heads-up on it reopening. I can't wait to stay there on my next Route 66 road-trip adventure!!
@@jeffthisted The owner of Shamrock Motel and President of the Missouri 66 Association can be seen on RUclips using the name "Roamin Rich". He finds and travel old abandon portions of old 66.
Thanks@@dennishogenmiller4456 Last year I drove all of old Route 66 in my 1955 Chevy. Have you watched all of my road-trip videos?
I remember back in the 50s and early 60s often traveling old Route 66 from St Louis to Rolla then south on 63 to visit family in West Plains, Mo. Wonderful memories.
I’m glad I could help bring back those memories for you @mikeywid4954 !! What’d you think of the video??
@@jeffthisted Excellent video and as I said it brought back a flood of fond childhood memories. I'm 74 now and my memory ain't what it used to be but there was a lot of roadside stuff for a kid to gawk at along the "The Mother Road" Oh and let's not forget the Coral Courts (no tell) Motel. Lol
Thank you so much@@mikeywid4954 !! I heard the Coral Courts got scrapped a little while back... If you like what you saw would you do me a favor? Gimme a like & subscribe to my RUclips channel if you haven't already. I'd appreciate it.
@@jeffthisted Done. One of the two-unit buildings from the original motor court was carefully dismantled by volunteers for use as part of an automotive exhibit at the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis.
Thank you so much @@mikeywid4954 !! Now I've got another excuse to go back to the National Transportation Museum!!
Love the video ..
