For 61 years I've lived in Moore, OK and have never been down the entire Route 66. Going to do it in the spring, thanks to your inspirations. Thank you
Thank you so much for the kind words @kahuna_okie !! I’m glad I could inspire you to get out there and see it with your own eyes. Please keep me posted on your journeys progress.
Thank you for the trip back in time. Your 1955 Chevy Wagon actually reminds me of 1959 when my father was the President of our local Fire Dept., with a 1956 a Cadillac ambulance, a 1959 International Harvester Fire Truck. My 2 younger sisters were in the local majorett crop with my brother & myself carrying the banner announcing the majoretts & the Fire Co. ThFire Chief enjoyed going to parades and we had a blast. Your '55 Chevy brought all of that back to me. Thank you.
You're welcome @earllutz2663 !! Thank YOU for watching & coming along for the ride with me in The 55. Got any pictures of that 56 Cadillac ambulance???
Thanks so much @kentspangler3401 !! I had no idea how awesome Route 66 is through Oklahoma!! That's the only state I hadn't done all the way. Now I cant wait to go back and explore more of your great state.
Thanks @sibman77 !! It was rough - but nothing compared to Arizona where I blew out a wheel bearing. That's coming up in a future episode so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!!
A fun trip into Oklahoma on Route 66, small classic stations (Cookies, Conoco, Marathon), Will Rogers Highway, the Sidewalk 9' wide Highway, the Pryor Creek bridge, and a walk through the Blue Whale roadside attraction!! A new look at the USA and a great ride in the '55!
Thanks Kitty - @user-fw2hg5dt1x - I love the history of these old places!! Yeah... the ribbon road was rough!! But you aint seen nothing yet - it gets way rougher in AZ - that's where I blew out a wheel bearing.
I'm lovin' riding along with you on Route 66! Did you drive around back at Arrowood Trading Post in Catoosa? There were some great old cars parked in back.
Thank you so much @UkuleleBetty !! I really appreciate it. My goal in the videos is to make you feel like you're along for the ride with me in The 55. I didn't go behind the Arrowhead Trading Post... Thanks to you I've now got an excuse to go back and check it out - Thank you!!
@@jeffthisted I was cruising 66 in the late 90s, so I was comparing notes. Ya done good. I went to Waylan's in '99 and again in 2020. Ya don't get a burger much better than theirs. I remember watching people pulling into McDonald's and thought "For a buck more, you could really get fed!"
Thanks@@johnbroughton3401!! I'm looking forward to going back and checking it out for myself!! If you like burgers give Rodeo Goat in DFW a try - they're awesome!!

Sweet 55’ Oklahoma has a lot of Route 66. Some better than others. People love to see tourists driving vintage cars. Enjoy!❤

What a gas! You're narrations and little anecdotes really make watching your personal down-to-earth videos worthwhile Jeff. Thanks again!
Thank you for the kind words @sibman77 !! You just made my day.
Pretty brave of you to take your old classic wagon down that rough, original stretch of highway. Hope ya didn't find any new rattles! ;-)
Thanks @sibman77 !! It was rough - but nothing compared to Arizona where I blew out a wheel bearing. That's coming up in a future episode so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!!
@@jeffthisted Oh wow!
Right@@sibman77 ?!?
It was crazy and I was out in the middle of almost nowhere...
You have to love the bat wing station! Seeing all those buildings makes me sad that structures today have no souls.
Yeah John. I love all those gas stations but the Batwings are my favorite.
You find the coolest old gas stations ⛽️ - love it. Reminds me of a bygone era in my life. Thanks Jeff 🙏
Thanks so much @garygentzel7924 !! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! We've got some amazing, abandoned gas stations the further west we go so stay tuned!!
@@jeffthisted I’ll be here (wishing I was there again)

Thank you so much!! You just made my day!! You definitely need to come over and drive Route 66 and experience it for yourself!!
Most Oklahoma roads are terrible, hard to tell between the old roads a new ones lol. Great videos, I'm from Tulsa's Route 66🫡
Thank you so much @honda90084 !!
Oklahoma's roads are in much better shape that Illinois roads are.
Illinois has the worst roads in America!!
I love how it says ETHYL on the old gas pump. those were the DAZE!
I dig that too @sibman77 !!
Love It Jeff..!!! Very nice old Stations and Buildings..also your favorit Batwing Phillips 66 Station..."Did your teeth chatter on the Ribbon Road??
Thanks Ingo buddy!! You know I love this old Batwings right. Yeah that ribbon road was pretty rough. Thanks for coming along for the ride with me!!

Pretty cool right @marysalazar421?!?
Have you ever been on it?
@@jeffthisted I have not.
If you go@@marysalazar421 be sure your suspension is up to par. It’s a really rough road. But it’s sooooo cooooool!!!

You look like actor Dennis Quade who played as leading man in the movie Twister original 1st movie with leading Lady Helen Hunt.
Thanks @anthonybanker6479 !!
What'd you think of the video?
What type of camera do you use to take the still photos of your car in front of the Route 66 stops?
I’ve been using a Sony A7c @vanishingpoint with a 16-35 lens. Why do you ask?
@@jeffthisted The still pictures you take come out good and they looked more rich and colourful than an IPhone photo.
Thank you @VanishingPoint !! It’s a good little camera but I can mess up any picture with the A7c. The iPhone not so much.

I think your car would look great without the yellow head lights.
Thanks Tracy!! I think it looks great with or without the yellow headlights. But the yellow ones are my favorite.
@@jeffthisted just saying .
Thanks @@tracyraley4003 I appreciate it. Why don’t you like the yellow headlights?
@@jeffthisted I just don’t think they look right on that nice car.
What about them don't you think looks right@@tracyraley4003 ?
I had regular headlights in it for the past 10-years and wanted a change.
Is this going to be your last two clips on Route 66 or is there going to be more?
It’s not the last episode of Route 66 by a long ways Jeff. We’re going all the way to Santa Monica baby!!
Hahahahaha!!! That is great to hear.
