Its great but you could have just used par lights for lights instead of all that work. Plus the whole thing looks heavy. Well done though. It looks very professional.
Looks fantastic! I'm looking at designing one but with a DMX decoder for use with Soundswitch. I'm curious, could you comment on the weight of this facade?
@@cutlernj yes it is an option I thought about. Or thinner panels like 1/32" would also help, I think I used 1/16. I am thinking about an update video on evening out the light disbursement using reflective tape just haven't had time to try it.
Hey chief sorry to bug you again but I'm having A LOT of trouble getting a straight answer from US Plastics in regards to shipping cost & etc... and before drop 60 or 70 bucks first three sheets of polyethylene I want to be one hundred 100% sure I get it right on the first shot... So you bought 1/8 inch sickness HDPE for your facades correct? and you're sure that this thickness won't be too thick to show the colors of the LEDs well right? Again so sorry to have to bug you with the same questions over and over but I can't even tell you the headache I've gone through with them over this... Thanks for your help
Here is what I ordered. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheeting 1/16" x 24" x 48" HDPE Sheets $9.91 ea equaling $79.28 and yes shipping cost me $45.10 UPS Ground, total was $124.38.
DJ T-Roy B gotcha.... So 1/16" thincknes ...that's crazy expensive.... I found another company (tap plastics) that sell hdpe and cut to custom sizes for free. They are sending me some samples of I can get exactly what I need. Thanks again for your input it's been invaluable!
Yes I use it every once and a while. If I remember correctly the cost was about $250 - $300 but you could cut that way down by using 4 plexiglass sheet on the front only instead of 8. I thought about this about six months ago. Just need to figure out what to use to block the led light in back. Maybe 6" wide strips of some kind for a border. Just a thought.
@@t-royb I was thinking about that as well. Could use just painted plywood. That would keep light off of your face while djing. Paint it white at least on the inside to reflect the light toward the audience.
update: I ended up buying from another company tapplastics.com they custom cut them to whatever size you need for free, they are cheaper than US Plastics, and the shippings cheaper...only drawback is the HDPE's are less limited in their selection of thicknesses...thinnest they have is 1/8 inch...but I got a sample and it will do the job...with my led's
Naw it would be waaaay too long.... I had to go back and make some mods to increase strength/durability... So I'm good... Thx for the inspiration though....your video made it possible 👍
Yes, but be careful to get a power supply large enough to power all four panels. I just recently purchased a 50 watt. I will probably make a follow up video explaining why.
Built mine and it looks great, have gotten many complements, Thanks and hats off to DJ T-Roy B!!!
Cool man, It would be cool to see what you came up with!
My man. That looks awesome! Great job. Still not sure if I'm building or just buying one. But if I diy this may be the way I go. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Best on iv'e seen by far! Can you provide a parts list, with dimensions?
Thanks I will try to get the parts list soon.
Great, looking forward to seeing it!
Hey what a great idea. One problem I can't seem to find any link to the LED lights . Can you please help I would love to buy some
I got them on Amazon 4 around $15 ea at the time I purchased them. Good luck!

Thx, it is a little heavy probably 40 or 50 lbs. I will check and let you know. If you use 4 plexiglass panels you'd be looking at half that thou.
@@t-royb Thanks. By 4 plexiglass panels, do you mean having one side only as opposed to having plexi both front and back?

were you able to get a parts list together yet
very cool
Thanks Man!
