I know this is an old video but I watched it and just build my own..came out pretty good. My cuts weren't the best it still came out decent for $25 I cannot complain..Thanks man you saved me alot of money!!
@@DJLoStax It did man I used it this last Saturday and man it really set the tone.. I bought the Led light strip from Amazon and it worked like a charm..I just subscribed so I'll be looking out for more vids and tips..Thanks again!
Just what I am looking for. Fantastic. I will be building a slightly bigger version, a 4 panel unit (4 feet tall by 8 feet in total) The issue I have is that hardwood timber is extortionate to buy in the UK. So, I'll have to find something recycled maybe to keep cost down.
Thanks so much for the tips on building your own dj facade! I started a mobile DJ company recently, and I’m struggling to get a pro looking facade for cheaper and this might fit the bill! So where do you all DJ?
Hey, love the video, but the amazon link to the lycra fabric does not work anymore. Does anyone have a link to this material? I can't seem to find it on amazon
Hey man! Thanks for this great video. I plan to build one this size, and a larger one that can go in front of an entire table. Can you post a link to the fabric you used?
Hey thanks for the sub! There’s a link to the fabric I used in the video description. It’s only about $6 a yard. If you re going to make a full size one I’d say you’ll probably need 3 yards or so since this stuff is super stretchy
I have a question about what type of screws you used to screw the frame together (where you said you used gorilla glue then drilled a hole and put a screw in there). Covid is going to make this project harder because I’m ordering my material and doing a curbside pick up
Thank you sooo much. I’m currently in the process of building my facade now. Just started cutting. Got all my 18” pieces cut. On the the 36”s I ended up buying 1x2s instead.
How are you keeping people from knocking it over? People (drunk people) want to lean on it. Otherwise, it's perfect. It somehow needs weight or clamped down.
I actually have a 5 and a 6. I would say I use the 5ft most often though and I would recommend highly that you pick up a wood banquet table instead of the folding plastic ones. I picked one up last year and it was such an upgrade. No more shaky plastic table. Actually I think I might have to do a video on why I switched!
oh man! my old facade was homemade also but out of heavy 1x4 wood and it was in two section with 2 panels per section that i had to connect together before standing it up. it wasnt impossible but it was delicate at the same time. I have a rockville facade now and i love it
+DJ Kel thanks man! The middle panel is 3ft wide and 20 inches tall. The sides are 17 wide and 20inch tall.. the sides stay connected and I ended up adding Velcro so when I fold in the sides the stay in place it it all lays nice and flat

Hey man, old or not it’s still relevant information. I’m glad I could help you out.

what cracks me up is all the questions people ask that are clearly answered if you just watch the whole video
Thank u for this video I've been looking for something like this

The good thing about this facade is that it leaves the table corners open for people to set their drinks on.
Good video and explanation 👍👍
Thanks Ian!
my setup for my wedding gigs same LD lights too haha DOPE!

I have been a Dj for 54 years been a mobile Dj about 46 years and am still doing and I am 72 years old
Nice.
What metal did you use
Awesome!
Right on!
Nice vid bro!
+Supreme Team thanks!
Where do u staple fabric too? The outside of the frame facing audience, or inside of frame facing you?
Inside of the frame
Thx for the reply. But wouldn’t that look weird to the audience, having the fabric on inside of frame? Are u sure it’s not outside?
You don’t wrap the fabric around the frame. You staple it to the back of the frame.
Hey man! Thanks for this great video. I plan to build one this size, and a larger one that can go in front of an entire table. Can you post a link to the fabric you used?

DJ LoStax thanks man!! If you ever make it to Portland Oregon I owe you a beer!

Just some 1 1/2 inch construction screws.
Also are they actually 1x3 or did you get 1x2? 3” seems thick ? Just checking because I’m going to build this. 3” seems massive
1x3 and I ripped them in half on a table saw.
Thank you sooo much. I’m currently in the process of building my facade now. Just started cutting. Got all my 18” pieces cut. On the the 36”s

So it’s actually 1 inch x 1 1/2 inch????
NICE!!!

Where you get your Frames? Or you made them? Gonna try this!
I made them out of 1x4’s that I ripped in half with a table saw.. you can buy 1x2’s then just cut them to length..
Okay cool! You use all the fabric?
No not even close.. you could easily get away with buying 1 yard of it.. i way under estimated how stretchy it is
You just earned a follower and a Post Notificationer!! Keep up the videos/DIY's!!! You can get some good $$$$
Alright, thanks! You have any social medias?
Great Video!!
Where did you get your frames from?
+DJ Wildkatt I built the frames out of 1x2’s from Menards.
Usually don't hit the like button but when you save over $100 man too bad I can't give it two likes
What is the fabric material called that you used? Thanks
+Adam Looze Lycra.. I’ll add a link to the video description tonight after work
Ah Lycra. I couldn't figure out how to spell it when you mentioned it in the video. I did find it now. Thank you for the quick response
Hey man! Is your table a 5feet? 6feet? Or 4feet table? Thanks.
I actually have a 5 and a 6. I would say I use the 5ft most often though and I would recommend highly that you pick up a wood banquet table instead of the folding plastic ones. @@DJLoStax Ok, thanks bro. Could i use spruce instead of pine. Aparently yes but im not to sure.
I don’t see why not. They are both soft woods so they are light.
DJ LoStax thanks bro. You are very helpful.
DJ LoStax Hey! How exactly did you put the wood together for the middle and side panels? Is it with a screw to hold them or L brackets? Thanks.
like where did you get your frame?....crickets chirping....answer...watch the f3cking video again...he built it
Try pcv pipes
Great job mate.
But I'm not sure what you mean by you can't setup a full size facade on your own...
oh man! my old facade was homemade also but out of heavy 1x4 wood and it was in two section with 2 panels per section that i had to connect together before standing it up. it wasnt impossible but it was delicate at the same time. I have a rockville facade now and i love it
how do you clean this?
Luckily I haven’t had to clean it yet.. I think you could probably spray some cleaner in it and rinse it off in the bathtub..
Nice job! I'm interested in building one of these. What are the actual dimensions? Thank you! You've just earned a new subscriber. #Salute
+DJ Kel thanks man! The middle panel is 3ft wide and 20 inches tall. The sides are 17 wide and 20inch tall.. the sides stay connected and I ended up adding Velcro so when I fold in the sides the stay in place it it all lays nice and flat
But wouldn't all the wires be on the table?
No, I have a slit in my table cover to run the wires through.
I make my own facade
