Paul Bäumler no Dragon Quest 8 is better for the story. The musics are very beautiful in both of them but Dragon Quest 8 has Remembrances which is the best music in all dragon quest games
Dragon Quest 8 is fantastic. The remake is even better. But no DQ can beat this game out. The story is fantastic, and this game rivals it easily IMO. This game has a sprawling afterstory if you got the DLC back when wi-fi servers were still up (like an entire extra game) and the music pieces obviously rival each other.
I played this game for the first time when I was 10. Now I'm 22 and every now and then I still go back. I finished all possible grottos and quests but I'm still leveling up all my heroes as far as the game will let me to fight the legendary bosses in the grottos. It's so full of good memories and I still love it so much. This song was my favourite of the whole soundtrack, it's so magical. Made me feel like an angel in heaven.

You should really Play Dragonquest III. It was my first one and I gotta say i loved it. I recommend getting it on a Gameboy Color rom or a translated SNES rom.

But there are no cons for this game. the graphics are at the limit of what the DS can handle, but as games like Chrono Trigger teached us, a game doesnt need good graphics to be a good game, but that is sadly getting forgotten...
Dragonquest IX was the first video game I ever played. I remember tearing up multiple times and looking back whilst listening to this, I can see why. The wight knight story makes me sad to this day.

I remember seeing the advertisement on Nintendo Power and being very intrigued with the franchise bc of how much it resembled Dragon Ball, and just like that, the years went by. It wasn't until years later in 2021 I downloaded the emulator on my PC and gave it a go, and let me say it truly would have been a game I would pour hundreds of hours into when I was a kid.
I love this game, still haven't beaten it though, I remember all the commercials for it and my mom got it for me so I would have something to play while visiting family in California :) Good memories!

But I used to go to the Observatory just to listen to this music. Breaks my heart every time I hear it. But thank you for uploading it, it really means a lot.
There is something special for me about this song. I remember when i played for the first time this game i was 8 years old. I remember being mesmerized by the beauty of the characters, each storyline and each arc marked my soul, from the Dark Knight to Corvus. This game made me love JRPGs and fantasy, and introduced me to it. The solemnity of this song makes me gather all the memories, they joyfull evenings with my friends playing 4p together, the nights i've spended playing as an adult with my cat as an only companion. I miss you a lot, i hope them celesteials are taking great care of you.

I managed to finish the game last night (10/8/17 to be precise or 8/10/17 for you American folk) after owning the game for about 5 years and always struggling with the final boss, I think it's safe to say I cried, a lot. I now feel so sad listening to this now that I probably won't go back to it ingame now.

(SPOILER ALERT) Actually, you can listen to the Observatory music post-game. Talk to Jona Jones in Porth Llaffan. Finish that quest, and you will be given a fygg. You will then get Sterling's Whistle, and the ability to see Stella and the Starflight Express. After that, complete all of Stella and Sterling's story quests (146-150). After the completion of Quest #150, you will gain access to Stella's room in carriage 3 of the Starflight Express. This is where you hear the music.

imagine your character saying "goodbye polygons" then just turn 180° and shout "make me beautiful *again!"* imagine the monsters, more creepy, just as the Bacilli Boss (the puky-phantom thing) or the Knight Karbon with a new armour that makes him looks like a REAL badass (if you know the anime "KonoSuba", you might see if i say "Dullahan" ) oh, for the "too early" thing : this game's pretty oldy, keeping the same universe with the same story (with more shit that making the game more attractive, like mini games or else) but changing some dialogs, add some monsters and bosses should give this jewel a second wind, don't you think?

Brings me back to camping in the forest, sitting and playing with my friend on his DS. This game was my first fantasy RPG and means so much to me personally as RPGs introduced me to some of the closest friends I have. I managed to finish the game last night (10/8/17 to be precise or 8/10/17 for you American folk) after owning the game for about 5 years and always struggling with the final boss, I think it's safe to say I cried, a lot. I now feel so sad listening to this now that I probably won't go back to it ingame now.
I restarted I finished it once and was close to the end on my 2nd time and decided to restart

This game was a DS exclusive. That's why it hasn't come out on any other console. I wish it was remastered though. My DS is slowly giving way....
Thanks... my sister played this game before me, and the whole time I played, I was so sad to know that at the end I would never be able to listen to it again. Now - thank you thank you thank you, I can actually enjoy completing the game knowing I can listen to this. It's so sentimental and full of memories, just beautiful.
(SPOILER ALERT)
Actually, you can listen to the Observatory music post-game. Talk to Jona Jones in Porth Llaffan. Finish that quest, and you will be given a fygg. You will then get Sterling's Whistle, and the ability to see Stella and the Starflight Express. After that, complete all of Stella and Sterling's story quests (146-150). After the completion of Quest #150, you will gain access to Stella's room in carriage 3 of the Starflight Express. This is where you hear the music.

imagine your character saying "goodbye polygons" then just turn 180° and shout "make me beautiful *again!"* imagine the monsters, more creepy, just as the Bacilli Boss (the puky-phantom thing) or the Knight Karbon with a new armour that makes him looks like a REAL badass (if you know the anime "KonoSuba", you might see if i say "Dullahan" )
oh, for the "too early" thing : this game's pretty oldy, keeping the same universe with the same story (with more shit that making the game more attractive, like mini games or else) but changing some dialogs, add some monsters and bosses should give this jewel a second wind, don't you think?

I was 8 when this game came out the feels they hurt can't believe it's been 8 years since this game was out and I always started a new game just to replay the story I'm doing it right now. :'( I love this game so much my very first dragon quest game then after this one I played 8 and VI the feels I'm sorry I'm just so emotional right now I'm just gonna leave.

Played this game’s story half a dozen times over a decade ago and can still recall every story boss in order (and 90% of their names)
Brings me back to camping in the forest, sitting and playing with my friend on his DS. This game was my first fantasy RPG and means so much to me personally as RPGs introduced me to some of the closest friends I have. Back when I first played this game I could never get past Angel Falls but now I've invested a good 10+ hours as this is such a good game.
Actually me and my sister were going `NUTS as we found out that you can hear this music in the last part of the 'Sky-Train'
