      @9Johnny8 2 года назад +3

      @@juniorsir9521 RESURRECTION of non life is dead things coming BACK to life. That's a christian claim (as well as quite a few other religions).
      The universe magically creating itself? If god is a part of the world that's the creation story.
      If god is not part of the world he either doesn't exist or he may just as well not exist.
      Neither of these things are atheistic or scientific claims, so the answer has to be:
      "Never, but what does that matter? I never claimed that happened."
      The exact mechanisms of abiogenesis and the formation of the universe are as of yet unknown, so you're welcome to assume a god in those gaps.
      Just don't try to replace the things we DO know with your god or tell me I should also assume that (specific) god. Or I might ask:
      "When did you see god pray for light and create the universe? Or build a golem and kiss him to life?"
      That's more accurate to the bible's claims about creation than your questions are to any scientific claims. Though still purposely inaccurate.

      Now what a typical person might say is:
      - you don't religion to do nice things: you're right
      - that doesn't change whether or not a god exist: okay, it's not evidence im arguing
      - religous people are hypocrits: yes, some are but that doesn't mean the principles changed. It means the person was at fault, not the entire community

      - is it to prove you're right?
      - was there some type of abuse/ wrong done to you growing up from a church?

    Also, you’ll notice that the poem at the beginning of Genesis shows a clear pattern of being poetic because days 1-3 are mirrored in 4-6. The Earth is said to be without structure and empty. For day one we have light, day two we have the sky separated from the water below (with the firmament) and on day three land comes up from beneath the water. The next four days we get “lights” to fill the (role of providing) light, though they are described as being within the firmament or as a decoration on the dome itself consistent with astrology. They still fill the emptiness of something given order and structure according to the poem. Day five is concerned with life that inhabits the air and the water as that’s what the poem said was separated on day two. And finally, day six we get the land animals, not because anything about this poem should be understood as being an accurate representation of reality, but because day six fills the day three land. It ends with humans being created so that humans can take over for the god(s) and that’s where it’s humans not gods who make boats, buildings, and places to cook the “sacrifices” that ultimately become the meals for the humans who made up the rules that the general public was supposed to follow.

    As a former believer of about 20 years, all I can say is thank you. Thank you so much for your time you have spent on videos like these for over a decade. While I owe you an apology for all the dislikes I left on your videos previously, I can honestly say that even when I was a die hard believer, your videos helped me open my mind to other beliefs and ideas, which eventually lead to me accepting science and facts over religion and fables. It's hard to believe I not only read, but memorized and defended passages such as "God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night" and took them 100% literally, when in obvious reality, the moon is not a light, but is merely a reflection. Please keep up the great work!

      @scyz2807 2 года назад +1

      @@chasep5539 I guess you haven't seen all the videos that explain why and how that "experiment" does not prove the moon has its own kind of (cool) light. What's actually happening is called radiational cooling. Place a thermometer out in the open on a clear night (the kind of night where you can clearly see the moon) and the air will be cooler because the heat of the day has disipated into the clear open sky - and even into space. But put that same thermometer in the shade and the temp will be a little warmer. Why? Because the shade blocks the radiational cooling holding warmer air near the ground. Think of the shade as if it were a blanket. Now, it's not the shade that does this but what causes the shade.

Even within the realms of its own simplistic nature, the creation story in Genesis floats about as well as the six-masted schooner - the largest wooden vessel ever built - the Wyoming. And on the subject of that ship and how it relates to the feasibility of the ark in his magic fairy-tale book, why doesn't this guy ask them at the preposterous 'ark encounter' why they didn't make their ark an actual water borne vessel? Spoiler alert, if he has a read about hogging and sagging on the actual real-world largest ever wooden ship - the aforementioned Wyoming - he will then know why they didn't make their replica ark an actual ship; because it would have been a physical impossibility owing to the limitations of wooden ship construction, thus proving the ark story is complete bullshit even if you could manage to fit about 7.5 million breeding pairs of creatures onto it and have eight people look after them all.

It just take minutes or even seconds for the plants to be lifeless when exposed to such bitter cold in our current environment. How much more if there's really no sun for an entire day. All the land, water, plants would be in ice. And even if the have the sun the next day, melting the frozen Earth would still take hundreds of years cause there will be dense clouds blocking the sun's light and heat to penetrate on the planet. Next god will create animals which will also be dead afterwards cause there's no plants for food and its still freaking cold.

    As a Ph.D. candidate in astrophysics, I have rarely had a chance to correct Aron Ra... The word "meteor" does refer neither to a solid body in outer space nor a solid body flying through the Earth's atmosphere. Meteor is generic label meteorologists use for any phenomenon in the Earth's atmosphere. Astronomers and astrophysicists use the word "meteor" for one specific atmospheric phenomenon caused by a meteoroid or an asteroid entering the Earth's atmosphere. A long tube of ionized gas formed along its trajectory glows for a short time while gas particles recombine and deexcite. Emitted light we can then observe in the sky is called a "meteor." The difference between meteoroids and asteroids is purely semantic. A meteoroid is any rocky, metal, or icy debris in outer space below 1-meter diameter. Anything bigger than that (and smaller than a dwarf planet) is an asteroid. As a meteoroid or an asteroid flies through the atmosphere, its outer layers gradually sublime away (the vast majority of meteoroids sublime away altogether). Excessive heat changes the interior of the original meteoroid/asteroid into a metamorphic rock we generally call a "meteorite." If a meteorite retains excessive kinetic energy during its impact, it can form an impact crater ("meteorite impact crater").
    So while saying that "the atmosphere is protecting the Earth against meteorites" is not precisely correct (it should be "the atmosphere is protecting Earth's surface against meteorite impacts"), replacing the word "meteorites" with "meteors" turns the sentence into the utterly nonsensical statement.

      No; everything you asserted is horseshit.
      Disclaimer:
      What atheists believe can vary. The only thing consistent among all atheist is their disbelief in the existence of gods/deities.
      But, for the sake of keeping this rebuttal simple, let's refer to the common atheist...
      Now, I'm going to knock out every one of your stupid claims...
      Firstly; the common atheist does not believe in magic. We base our understanding of the universe on scientific discoveries. The Big Bang theory is based on the observation of objects in space speeding away from each other; and scientists calculated when it began, which gave us the age of the universe and the theory of all matter, energy, space & time starting from a singularity point.
      Secondly; the common atheist does not believe in resurrection of any kind.
      Thirdly; ...surfing monkeys? Rocks coming alive? Fish learning philosophy? Magic stardust? ...What does any of that mean? Just a bunch of incoherent nonsense.
      This is the strawman argument I was referring to. You deliberately make false assertions of your opponent's position.
      You argue that atheists believe in magic, when in fact, your religion's creation story is supernatural (i.e. magic).
      Dishonest theists project their own failings onto others; and what's worst is that, by doing so, they inadvertently admit that what they believe in is rubbish.

    I seriously wish I had listened this when I was Christian some 5 odd years ago and before. I probably would’ve denied it fervently for awhile but it would’ve planted the seed. You make so much sense Aron. I’m sure I would’ve done the mental gymnastics to convince myself otherwise, at least at first, but would’ve ultimately craved truth as I do now. What’s ironic is if you ask any Christian if honesty is one of the most important things to them, most would say it’s in their top 3. But to deny all of this clear science just to hold on to a belief that was engrained within due to pure geographical birth place, is very dishonest. One could claim ignorance rather than dishonesty but really, if we applied that logic to any other situation, it wouldn’t work. Something so simple as having the belief, “drinking bleach is a good way to kill viruses,” when clear evidence shows the contrary. Reading Genesis and thinking that it is literal is as dishonest as one purporting that drinking bleach will kill viruses. One knows deep down that it’s not true but they’re clinging on to the obvious lie. No wonder our country is going the way it is. Opinions have become “facts” because one says so-the only “evidence” of such “facts.”
