Been in this since 1959 ! I am a Jazz Historian and seen most of the big guys in action over the years ! I am 65 now and retired in Melbourne ! Glad to hear that the younger ones are still interested in the world's second reconized music genre ! Keep going !
Great groove from the Jeff Lorber Group. This same group rocked the Columbus Jazz and Ribs fest on Friday July 18 in the rain no less. All these musicians are fantastic.
The tracks in the video clip are "Pixle" and "Dr. Moy" from Lorber's 2010 release, "NOW IS THE TIME" .. Tracks 3 and 2 as they are ordered on the video clip. Thanks for bringing me back to the CD, I had forgotten it, having not played enough to burn the tracks to the brain ... very nice CD in retrospect
Born in 1956,grew up with Miles, Basie. Would watch old (1930's 40's movies With But Band's Artie Shaw, Woody Herman etc, excellent music man, Smooth Jazz has the same effect. Good stuff dude, may it never die 😎😎😎
A world without Jeff Lorber is just too dire to think about. His music is like everything in my soul and his expressed it all through his music...The guy is a lengend and the people who work with him are just as amazing. I've been into this kind of music since I was 13 and I'm 19 now and its just so hard to find young people digging this. Gunna have ta re-educate some people when I start working on my music ;)
Thank you Jeff Lober !!! Been playing your music since 1984 . Now that my kid ( 14 years of age ) jams in his band, He says all his funk comes from you and George Duke, and Greg Karukus. He imitates your riffs and grooves. He plays a Motif 6, Triton le and a Roland. His band plays four of your grooves!!! his band is " On the One Band ( on you tube) or IBJAMN4U on you tube . . . Thank you for your Awesome music
Jimmy's groove (on bass) is super solid! But what am I talking about?! These are ALL world class musicians. Arguably the best of the best. If you've ever seen them live, they display talent that just makes me shake my head in amazement.
At the Lighthouse? I was there. 2 feet from Jeff''s keyboard! With Kenny "G" Gorlich. Katherine, Black Ice, Soft Funk, Tune 88, Toads place, Wizard Island, Country, etc.... He's a legend.
Man i am glad i got with him as he first started this cut is very nicely done yup 2022 with all the crazy stuff going on i can find peace with this kind of jazz and very well put together band too
Seen these guys live at Kuumba Jazz in Santa Cruz this passed Monday. Words cannot describe how awesome these guys played. I'm still in shock after what just happened. The guy at the front was right. "buckle your seat belts guys".
Cool...except for the initial reversed image of Jimmy playing right-handed. I was fortunate enough to see Jeff when Kenny Gorelick was in his band in the early 1980's - twice at the Agora Ballroom in Atlanta. Smoking!
Q-F, who the F cares how many did anything on this "social media"? Brainless, witless, self-important pinheads who have too much time on their hands and care not a whit about anything other than to impress the denizens of "social media" that they have more taste, sophistication, or savvy then them. I say F-them.

Jeff lorber, half of Yellowjackets, and a member of chick coreas electric band... huh?! Nasty combos
very well orchestrated... as usual for jeff...
Such a smooth band because of the mastery of their talents together.

There are actually 30 people who gave this thumbs down, stop listening to what you know nothing about
Lol. There are now 38 who only have taste in there mouths. They prolly own the Miley Cyrus Katy Perry collecter cd set.
