Man .... That Rhythm Section .... Nate is the Groove Bass Meister ... And Bright SUNNY Sonny E on Drums so TIGHT ... can’t even fit no thinnest sheet of paper in between 😆🤗👍🏽
Jeff Lorber has been one of my favorite artists ever since I saw him live back in the early 90's. I remember Kenny G was his sax player back then. He produces great to this day.
This band is killer! Love groovie fusion like this! I just recently got my eyes up for Sonny Emory, what a groovie beast, not to mention Nate Phillips! Marienthal and Lorber for me, speaks for their self... long term fans of both. Amazing stuff!
I still have this on vinyl. The original. This is fantastic seeing the Jeff Lorber Fusion playing live three decades later, and the sound is authentic. Seems when you are before your time.... Awesome. Glad Dave Koz is on his own now.
Got nearly all of Jeffs albums..really is a superstar , and what a great career..stil putting out those badass licks..I could listen to this all day long.Thank you for the music..... Jeff youre a boss
Der hat wirklich die Lorbeeren verdient. So einen konzeptionell geschmackvollen Pianisten und aufregenden Solisten habe ich keinen Zweiten. Master of Jazz Rock Funk Fusion.
Yup! By far the best live performance that I have seen. All the guys really delivers grest musicianship and interplay. Have seen this video show about 10 x's by now. Bloody awesome playing. Really cooking and steaming!! You really feel the music here!!
All I know is Sonny Emory be killing it on the drums...Dude is just SOOOOO sweet....He drives the bus ain't no doubt!...Get cha' some Sonny Emory!...and Nate Phillips formerly of Cool'R fame is sick too on the bass!...Damn good players...Sick stuff!!!!
Jeff Lorber is a new discovery for me as long as I've been familiar with his success, watching this show has inspired me to look deeper into the mind of Jeff's artistry. Thanks to Frank Colon and cybersnake64 for getting my attention. in Return I hope you enjoy this Artist I discovered a few years back.Rudy is killer on the set..get paste link, just look up Ben Allison Band 'Man Sized Safe' with Rudy Royston on Drums
insightful, humble comments from jeff at 15:13 about his keyboard influences. For his not being able to emulate Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea (Jeff's own words), he put all the more effort, and success, into taking his own style to further place than it would have, had he been "able". A more enjoyable place.
Yeah! Fantastic show and great sound on this video. This music needs good recording. You hear all the cats clearly. Thanks, Cybersnake! You did a great job on this.:-) Respect from me.
Thanks for uploading, saw him in san diego back in the 90's. I used to play a couple of his tunes in a band to include tune 88. His music is both great to listen to and extremely fun to play.
American Heroes , So fine. Top honors. Head of the class. You all make US proud. Lucky world too. I was able to play jazz in Europe when I was a kid. Europe loves jazz. But often they play it a little off. There are some swinging cats there. Maynard Ferguson got a lot of guys there for his band over the years. America doesn't know how good we have it. They push non music on the unsuspecting public. Motzart didn't play written solos the same over and over. They were superstars...the king and gang came every week to see the impromptu solos. Classical jazz. I like Jazz fusion ( jazz rock mix......4/4 rock beats with the jazz. Very strong).......Go back and look at Glen Miller. Very weak rhythm section.....no electric....few mics. Now we have the boss rhythm section to syncopate against/with.
Jeff Lorber is one of the greatest piano players in the world.
Yes of cause
drummers too~!! and that bass! that horn player seems to know the material fairly well too huh! respecto!
