Well I wasn't going to put this on (totally un-edited) like this but a lot of people have been saying they like this sort of stuff. I do need to sort the camera out next time, water drops, angle, sounds haha.. yes its not the best but here it is anyway. South East Wind, Mareta Beach, Sagres, Portugal. Not usually the place we'd sail but we gave it a go anyway. First session 5.6m and 99 Quantex.. which is the Biggest wave gear I've got... probably the biggest wave gear I've ever used!! It actually felt pretty good.. but it soon got windy and I changed down to the 5m and 85 (part 2)
Modern windsurf gear is so efficient, we don't need to subject ourselves to awkward contraptions. You're showing that the windsurfing fun keeps rockin' in light wind - busting loops and moves. That nice squarish tail area is also adding to your planing. And you haven't even tapped their 109 with a 6.2 to lower the threshold even more! Foiling and winging have been cancelled. 🤙
Really like the raw footage... is like to be live in the water and let observe and understand things... love to watch my home-heart spots through your videos💙thanks🙏...This time you seem to talk less than the other day in Martinhal 128×128 png 7,1 kB 😜
Very nice to see raw footage. Thanks. Eh, this time no talking while riding :) I guess it must have been much more intense than your previous video. I use a portable keyvault/lock box. It locks around the door handles on the van. It's really convenient not to carry keys in the water :)
Cool Ben. Not sure if it is a good thing for windsurfing, but this helps inspire me to post vids. Apparently I say faaaark a lot. 🤪 And I would think my vids are boring, but I could see how you might think this one is boring as it is like a level 1 out of 10 for extreme action for you but you posted it anyway. 👍
Really like 2 things: the non-cutting and the fact you left the insta360 at home. So much more relatable. I can see where you make different choices then I would do. Really insightfull. Who is your mate with the Simmer gear ?
Interesting to hear.. thanks.. The other guy is a guy called Justin. He's been on the channel before... stay tuned to Windsurfing Tv Channel... as he's made a Drysuit video! :)
Hi Ben, so Mareta works in South Easterlies? I actually came down to Sagres just before xmas, as there was a strong SE (having been nothing for ages around Lisbon, typical winter). But tides were high and Martinhal looked like it was ready to eat somebody. Never checked Mareta though.
Wow, the speed at which you ‘recover’. At 8.59 you recover instantly from what seems a sketchy landing with a foot seemingly painfully bent in the front strap.
@@Ben-Proffitt yep, there are few pleasures in life comparable to the unpacking and putting straps on a new board, let alone using it, however this week it should be used indeed appropriately 🤙🏻💙🤙🏻thanks again for all you do for our belittled sport
I actually haven't tried the 109... but I've heard people really like it. Actually the Quantex has gone down really well and im finding I'm using it more and more as my around wave board. I think the 109 might be a bit big for me though.. but maybe I should give it a go!
im about 85-90 kg so for me its perfect, worked much better than i thougt for that volume. much more sailing with a board like that in your quiver. @@Ben-Proffitt
@@patrikandersson8428 yep that makes sense... same as me at 78-80kg with the 99... and totally I've found myself using the 99 a fair bit and it works so good for it's size!!
Well this is the biggest wave kit I’ve tried.. and it was working super well! I’m only 80kg.. wind strength.. errr… I’m not sure! … not a lot at first but it got stronger.. and I changed to a 5m
@@Ben-Proffitt Yes exactly! You even said yourself how important color-coordination is the other day!? Should trade sails with Justin to make the address this issue. Hurts my eyes, really.

...very nice Ben! great skills. love this kind of videos. more of it pls.
My morning coffee + your video = I’m happy ☕️🌊😃 Enjoy Ben... Dejan 🤙🏼
Like the raw footage. 👍 find myself picking a line through the waves..
Great raw footage. More please

Enjoyable watch Ben. Got some good height on those back loops! 🤙🏼
there was thinking 'that doesn't look very big!? YOu were not talking about the waves, but the gear. Excellent content as ever.
Great video Ben😊
This was really enjoyable
Awesome run bruv

Indeed really nice to see this kind of un-edited first person view movies! Thanks Ben!
First 2 moves are backloops?
cheers mate.. yes.. back loops! Although not super clean as they were a bit forced!

Well I guess sometimes it’s nice to show the real side of windsurfing… not all epic action and amazing conditions!
oh yeah the go-pro reverb. relatable lol
haha.. I need a new camera!! :)
WOW this instant planning is insane, bit of overpowered Ben?
well not at the beginning... but that big gear has loads of bottom end in it! surprised me.. I thought I'd be on and off planing!
Nice. Come to north Portugal ;)

That's the key to learning new moves and tricks.. ' get good at recovery!!' haha
Nice !
nice 360 for the lulz cool
Great Ben, we like raw footage, just got delivered Quantex (92) myself, can’t wait to use it 😍💙🤙🏻
Great to hear... happy NEW Board. Fingers crossed you get some conditions to get it wet!

Good to see the winger finally got out 😁. I have to ask, how do you keep your key from rusting?
haha... nothing... and no rush yet! Although the key to my Freelander is proper rusty!! ...but that's 20+ years old!!

are they bad?
