    Great Talk About again 👍🏼
    Great skills 🤩
    Your inside speed jibe technique looks efficient, foot in the strap before shifting the sail, maybe a video about that ?
    And then also talk us through your, first hook in, then get on your board technique 🤔

    Really fun video again Ben 😀
    It would be interesting if you could explain the size of the waves as you're riding/jumping them as they get flattened by the camera.

    I had some fantastic sessions at Melkbos back in the mid-1990s. It was one of my favourite spots on the North side of Cape Town, especially for jumping. This video really reminded me of them (although I hadn’t mastered push loops back then😊). Still, it was great to see you cranking it there. I have a big smile on my face! Thank you for bringing back some great memories. I loved that place.

    Just to spell this out: For those on African Safari, the 'Big 5' consists of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.
    When you go on safari, in search of these, you quickly find you just enjoy being in the moment.
    And that is how fun also works with windsurfing, as here. The stoke comes in mysterious ways, whatever goal you might set yourself.

    I love Melkbos as a windsurfing beach, but watch out if you don't like being sand blasted.
    The walk to the water is bad enough but the sand gets everywhere - even into your car as you rig or de-rig.
    Don't ever leave your gear on the beach because on the windy days sand can destroy a new sail in one afternoon.
    The weird thing about the waves there is that there can be a shore break close to the beach, and then a second area of close out sets further out.
    The beach works for windsurf wavesailing, because of these variable sand banks, and the unexpected shallows.
    It's bad for filming because of the sand - but also because there's nowhere to stand with a camera out of the wind, or high enough to see the waves. And that's why we never see photos of Melkbos waves.

    Really great video series. I noticed that you hook in before lifting the sail for a beach start. I guess that makes it easier to wrestle the initial force of high winds?

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  6 месяцев назад

      Well.. not sure it’s advised but helps me get the power down straight away and get up to speed and ready to do a trick. If I have to worry about hooking in, sometimes you lose focus for the first ramp..

    Hi Ben, awesome video! Best one of this type!
    Just an odd question: my harness keeps slipping up. At all some point it is more a breast harness than a waist harness. What do you do to keep it down there?
    Thanks, and yes the big 5 counts 👍🏻😜

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi mate.. could be a few things.. do you have any shape in the harness.. how flexy is it.. how bigs your ass /hips ? Haha.. no but seriously if it doesn’t fit with your ass it will push up. If you have a high boom , short lines.. if your using it wrong and sitting down in it? So difficult to say with out seeing you using it. Maybe you have it too right.. then it can’t drop back down once it rides up? Because they all ride up a little bit.

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  6 месяцев назад +2

      I guess you are talking about coming in? I actually don't realise I'm doing it most of the time.. but it's for going up wind. getting the weight forward on the rail.

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  6 месяцев назад +1

  • @frankstrobel4350
    @frankstrobel4350 6 месяцев назад

    you dont have issues mounting the 360 mount over the mast sleeve ? I always have mine in the boom cutout.

    • @Ben-Proffitt
      @Ben-Proffitt  6 месяцев назад

      Yep works best on the mast in the boom cut out. But it’s not too bad where I have it on the sail in these video but have to move to let the sail fill properly
