- Dr. Wallace moderates a panel of pastors discussing the State of Black Church in America at the 6th annual Black Conservative Summit. The panel constists of Dr. Gleen Pinckney, Bishop Garland Hunt, Pastor Shando Valdez, Pastor James Ward, Jr., and Pastor Bryan Reeves.
These men are discussing the issues of the entire church, not just the black church.
Many Pastors are hypocrites!! Many are worldly. We need scripture in our lives!!!
I am a black pastor in the state of Ohio getting ready for today’s Sunday service. I have been teaching these things for years and I am getting weary because I feel like I am all alone in the black community. These men have encouraged me to keep fighting the good fight of the faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the sufficiency of the Scriptures.
I have to believe God in His sovereignty allowed me to come across this post.

The people's understanding of scriptures is exceeding that of the Pastors. The Pastors don't understand the Bible.

The church should be light and salt not just talk and panel discussion. And, the church should not be biased and compromising to the world. Using the homosexual issue as THE issue is in itself dishonest since there are so many other issues killing the church.
Yep, Satan has moved on to transgenderism and the NUMBER ONE MORAL ISSUE OF THE DAY, ABORTION. It just so happens that those issues are pushed by one particular party. By the way, these pastors didn’t actually address “homosexuality”, the issue is/was gay marriage. Pastors understand that people struggle with being attracted to the same gender. But to CELEBRATE changing God’s law by lighting up the White House! It’s CLEAR, professing Christians who support these policies need to examine themselves.

I’m soooooooo grateful, encouraged, proud of these black men first and pastors for so many reasons, but most importantly for their standing for Christ Jesus, our righteousness. Though they know they will be on the devil’s radar for speaking the Truth of the Holy Christ, the holy living and, uncompromising lifestyle.
I’m so proud of them for eloquently elaborated on the true nature and facts of what’s going on across denominational in the black churches across the US.

And if there is … why ?
Obviously there is THE CHURCH
and there are Christians of every tribe and tongue …
But if a church has all one race in it primarily … how does that reflect the diversity of the community? And does this indicate that city wide missional evangelism isn’t happening

I remember before I landed where I am currently with my wife for the past 10 years, I was in a church that was predominantly Hispanic and I thought it was hilarious because the community of where I live was a mixed race community of all kinds of nationalities.

Brothers: Your leverage in the Black community will be limited. I kept listening for balance and objectivity. In short order your conversation skewed a few minutes in. You framed things in a biblical worldview, but as you kept speaking, it became clear that you were advancing Republican ideology- especially when Trump is considered misunderstood and attacked, when he is the most amoral, ungodly and low integrity person ever to hold office. I kept listening for balance, and you never got there. By the way, there are pastors who are able to support Harris and maintain a biblical view on issues. Can you do it with Trump. It is possible to be anti-abortion and pro choice. Whenever the church uses the power of the government to enforce a personal moral decision, means the church has abandon the moral high ground, and decided moral persuasion is longer viable, so now morality has to be forced, which is not the way of God.
What is biblical in the democrat party? Should believers not run for elected office?

So encouraged to see black American Pastors standing for and on the word of God!! And I agree with the brother regarding the nomenclature of ‘The black church’. There’s only ‘The’ church. The church has become so culturally led that the word is second place. Thank God for Men of God that infuse ‘kingdom culture’ first.
"The Black Church" is simply shorthand for the historic African American Christian tradition. There are various ethnic expressions of the universal church and there's nothing wrong with that.
Culturally and politically centered. There is no such thing as a Christian Democrat or Republicans. There is no such thing as a black church. The Jews are HIS chosen people, and the rest of us are Gentiles saved by grace.

What we know as the Black church represents a particular Christian faith tradition rooted in American Protestantism (predominantly the Baptist, Methodist, and Pentecostal denominational families) that originated within a particular historical context and has an identifiable cultural character. It should be regarded as a primarily ethnic designation. Folks only oppose it because of the tendency of White Americans primarily to regard explicit racial descriptors as inherently racist and divisive although "White" and "Black" have historically served distinct purposes as self-described racialized labels.
There are plenty of somewhat similar examples of this within Christendom, such as the Anglican Communion (which today, ironically, has a majority non-Anglo constituency). African Christianity is a distinct thing that is identifiable, and even within the Black church are individual denominations such as the African Methodist Episcopal Church. No one opposes these labels because it is more or less intuitively understood that they have historic and cultural import. It's no different at all with the Black Church.

The Women's Right is not just about abortions. True life begins at conception, but some pregnancies are not viable, and this can happen at any time during the pregnancy that may call for an abortion. Most will opt to carry to full-term, praying for a better outcome. Most women want to be pregnant and to be mothers, but ectopic pregnancies are dangerous, the idea of a child being born with some debilitating congenital birth defects some parents may not be able to handle emotionally, mentally, or financially. So knowing these factors are in play, a woman should be given a choice. If it is a pregnancy conceived of of rape or incest, no woman wants to carry a child conceived out of violence. Women's Right also includes access IVF/IUF for woman who are not able to conceive naturally, mammograms, PAP Smears, OB/GYN access, genetic testing etc. All of this is on the table for women and their rights.
Overall I agree with these men. But nothing about tRump. No women on the panel? It’s all onesided. Why not have both sides of the Black Church? Come up with a solution. What they fail to realize is the United States is not “Bible-Land”. God has only sanctified one land, Israel.
I'm a woman of color and abortions is not an ACT of God. Abortions is not health care. It's death of an unborn. I've seen documentaries of real babies being aborted sucked out of the womb of mothers. Many babies parts are being used for so many things. Some abortions are considered sacrifices for wicked rituals.

The titles used within your churches-bishop, pastor, preacher-carry a great deal of authority. However, from a Gnostic perspective, these roles closely resemble Archons, beings who maintain order and control within the material realm. The Archons’ purpose is to keep souls bound to worldly structures, preventing spiritual liberation and direct connection to the Divine.
The challenge is to transform these roles from positions of earthly authority into guides who help others find their own spiritual path. Instead of ruling over a congregation, the role of a spiritual leader should be to facilitate direct encounters with God, encouraging inner exploration and self-discovery over compliance with external rules. The first thing I want to say is that I am extremely impressed by the biblical stance of these distinguished gentlemen! However, I do think there were two oversights: The first was not having a few more denominations represented. Particularly because denominations like the Church of God in Christ, for example are so filled with Black folks.
That’s not a plug for them. I am not COGIC. 😂. I just thought about them. Secondly, I do think there should have been at least one woman on the panel. Even if some don’t agree with women pastors, there is still leadership from women in Black churches. They could have given a wonderful perspective. Finally, I would have liked to hear a more well rounded discussion of how the cultural deception is actually exhibited in the black church, and then how to combat it. Those are just observations; I was tremendously blessed by the determination of these men of God to stand on the truth of God’s word! Amen & Amen!

Yes, I considered passing by this discourse because I saw the term "black church" thinking that this was going to be another bowl of liberation theology and black preachers who are tucked in the back pockets of the left. The quote given in the discussion says it all "Any ethnic group who puts their ethnicity ahead of their Christianity, that's idolatry" Yes!!!!!!! So encouraging to hear the discourse by these men, grounded in the actual Bible. I was truly discouraged, beginning to think that all if not most predominantly black churches were doomed by ethnic idolatry, unyielding support of the democratic platform and a lack of sound theology. Teach your communities that each of them carries a Divine Spark, entrapped within the confines of the material world, and that their journey is to awaken to this truth. Encourage inner reflection, contemplation, and the pursuit of Gnosis-a direct, experiential knowledge of God that leads to true freedom and transformation.
Rather than emphasizing rigid doctrines and moral codes, emphasize spiritual practices that foster inner awareness, such as contemplative prayer, meditation, and the study of alternative scriptures like those found in the Nag Hammadi library. Spiritual growth is not about political affiliation or allegiance to an institution; it's about reconnecting with the Divine within and seeing beyond the superficial structures of the world.
When you call yourself non denomination and operate churches, that's where the first problem starts, because God doesn't like divisions but unity. God adds, Satan divide. 2nd, a lot of churches here in America don't preach sin anymore but prosperity, God doesn't bless when people sink in sin's, God doesn't bless when people rebell and disobey. You go to Africa any denomination pastors don't have problem to tell you who you're upfront whether you like it or not, if you're sining they'll tell you going to hell, no holding back, therefore people have fear for God. Here, pastors are worrying numbers other than making true disciples.
The other problem i see is pastors pass to the leadership to their family or son as passing inheritance whether that person is called to preach the gospel or not. This is very wrong. Being a pastor is a calling duty from God. You don't gain anointing from bible college or theology school. The true anointing comes from heaven and heaven only. A lot of these statements these Pastors said were too general. The issue is there seems to be a shift towards the idea that the people need to be “taught”. But God gave the instruction to “preach” Christ crucified! It is the work of the Holy Ghost that truly transforms, not knowledge.

When it comes to personal sin that is where preachers need to do their job and love people like Jesus Yeshua with his love and show the way of Christ. The Black church in the 60s understood the necessity if racial justice. The govt. neutralized them politically with the 501C3 status. We need this again!

We need to preach and teach the whole counsel within our church communities, and have a clear justice focus as we engage with the world and its systems. There is too much focus on imposing Biblical standards on society, and this is incredibly dangerous. Our broader influence comes through caring for the widow and orphan and the poor. Offering clear exposition of the life-giving word is key, but particularly within our professing communities.
Challenging societal trends and norms is important…in the context of justice. Why no focus on this here in the conversation?

As a follower of Christ and a health care professional, it saddens me to hear people of God speak of abortion in such a narrow way. Seemingly, without any knowledge on the complexities as it relates to health. I believe life starts at conception, and abortion is wrong, period. I also don't believe women should die because providers are afraid to provide them the care they need at the time they present. Regardless of what happened to bring them there, at the time they present, they NEED care. The Jesus of the Bible does not spew hate like so much of the republican party do. In other words, the republican party is certainly not the moral compass or chosen representatives of Christ. The rise of "christian" nationalism is real. The brother made a good point in that we are not to differentiate between wheat and tears. That's God's job. We should be bringing people TO CHRIST. He came for the lost world. Not so people could tell their brothers and sisters they don't know God if they support a racist in one party or a liberal in the other. The government is not the kingdom of God and God will not stop being God regardless of who the president is. I pray for Donald Trump and all the others we're supposed to pray for. Judgement begins in the house of God. God's people should try being more involved in the community, take Jesus to the community and then they might see the change they want in the church. But many are too concerned about numbers and titles and APPEARING religious. Jesus is not going to reject a person based on who they voted for. But there will be many who don't make it in despite "I did this in your name and that in your name." It's a heart job. I think it's great to have these conversations but what about a solution (making Jesus known) like helping young confused children get out of transgenderism instead implying that if Christians love them they've compromised. Again, Jesus came to save them. Jesus was honest with the woman at the well, the woman who was being accused and others. He also offered himself. Should churches be defined by race?
Ethically focused churches are not biblical. There is neither Jew nor Greek. The Bible is anti-tribal. Partiality is sinful.
Ultimately, no. The Church is multiethnic in theory. In practice we are divided just like the early church. Racism, among other factors in the church forced division. There are some language and cultural barriers that divide the church. It isn't necessarily bad , especially the cultural differences. People need to be taught the Word of God in their language and cultural context. The only one who can bridge that gap or difference is Christ himself. The oneness of the body is not seen in worshiping together but a common witness to the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus and the out pouring of love when we do get together as one body.

The black church is dying for several reasons. One, it has not even tried to be relevant in a rapidly changing world. Recently, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Christian hip--hop is burgeoning artform and yet, most churches do not embrace it. The result? Good bye, young people. Two, earlier this month an author Daniel K. Williams penned an article entitled: "Democrats Can’t Rely on the Black Church Anymore: The path to winning the Black vote no longer runs through the church door." The black church has lost its political and social leadership mantle. Three, I don't see a single woman on that platform. Gone are the days when anointed, theologically trained women were content to simply serve the male clergy meals at the Pastor's Anniversary Dinner. That day is dead. Four, gang warfare has become pervasive in black communities all across the nation. Few churches have an emphasis on reaching the communities surrounding their churches have been overcome by gang life, drug dealing or human trafficking. Pastors can not connect or relate with those folks. Sometimes they are afraid of he people in the community.
The carnal world is not suppose to change the church. The church is suppose to use biblical concepts to change the carnal world.
