I literally sat here trying to fight my way through all the enemies at fort faroth to get this thing. I've died maybe 50 times. I watch this video, try just running by all the enemies once and get it first try
yeah and the endurance it grants gives you extra equipment load so you can use better armor to counteract the debuff too, very good talisman for early-mid game or if you just dont have that much investment in vigor and endurance
Thank you so much for this concise guide, especially showing how to do the jump. I tried 7-8 times before this video wondering why I wasn't getting to the talisman even though I went down the right drop down with the ladder, but ended up getting turned around to the entrance of the fort every time.
I’ve been watching videos of things to do in early game and it has been painful to sift through tons of useless talking on some of the videos. This was a breath of fresh air man. Thank you for showing the exact location and how to get there
Thanks ... your guides are way better than most ER youtubers. I summoned my wolves on the platform where the rats are, just before dropping down to get the talisman. The wolves kept the rats busy... for me to climb back up and jump down to ground floor to escape the fort. Took me two tries. But I did make it out alive. Why the trouble? Lol I had 100k runes with me.
When you're on that screen that shows your stats, if you press Y/Triangle itll swap that pane to show your defensive stats to see exactly how much your defenses are lowered.
@@Faustainedwell it’s not gonna be exactly 15% depending on everything. Mostly your armor changes and whatnot. Plus to see exactly where you stand defense wise
My character started as a dragon priest then later changed into an arcane fighter/priest with a bloody slash twinblade. This is exactly the talisman I need to offset all the levels i put into mind/dex/faith/arcane. The increase in health let's me survive more hit. The increase in endurance gives me more stamina to dodge and let's me wear heavier armor, and the increase in str/dex give me so much more options in weapons.
The damage taken is increased by 15% Edit: I know it’s been 2 years but maybe someone will see this in the future, probably some new Elden ring players
It's sad that we don't know any exact numbers for that damage yet. From extremely rough math and comparisons to tests made with the Scarseal, it seems that you probably take 10-15% extra damage from high damage attacks and 3-5% extra damage from low damage attacks. The disparity comes from the increased flat defenses you get from all the stats you get (leveling increases defense and strength increases physical deefense), which affect light hits comparatively more. But 10-15% worst case extra damage is something I'd take for _twenty_ levels anyday, without even taking the ~200 extra health and equip weight for tanking into consideration.
@@jackasad2180 In short? Yes. Long answer? You likely have around 1000 hp, depending on your vig investment. Let's say a boss does 500 damage with a heavy hit. Out of that, 10% is 50 damage. This talisman alone gives me ~200 health, so it itself absorbs four hits of that extra damage. When we take into consideration all of the other incidental defensive boosts this talisman gives you, it mostly pays for itself for the extra damage taken. Remember, 20 levels worth of stats is huge, the biggest increase i think a ring(talisman) has ever given in a souls game. The crimson amber medallion gives 1% of health(?), which is 10 with 1000 hp and Erdtree's favor gives 3% extra health, which is 30 with 1000 hp.
Someone did the math and it comes down to this - if you already have around 2000 hp then you are about breaking even. If you have any less than 2000 hp naturally then you are only gonna benefit from this talisman. In short, put this on and forget it. Op asf
If you are worried about the extra damage taken, it just get worse for you when have a hardcap stat upgraded on your character, it's what says in the wiki
I have the Scarseal but i can't find the Soreseal. I went to get it in the past and i dont have it anymore and it's not on the corpse in Fort Faroth ? Am i missing something ?
you didn't mention those oversized rats, they got me good. At least the place gives lots of runes, deadly as it is! Now for attempt three, I hope I get my 20k runes back as well as the talisman : )
I tried so hard to make this talisman work and it just got me shit on making fights harder. Where most boss fights are a battle of attrition and patience the extra damage to you is not worth the extra damage for you. It literally FEELS like you're taking 50% more damage. I was struggling on the very last fight of the game (radagon) and I spent two hours dying over and over and over. I switched this talisman to something else and best it first try. I'll never equip it again lol
Awesome. If you run it just like this, you will get one small smack like in video. But if you want it even easier, get beastial torch so rats don't bother you
Picked something up right there in the past. Went there and nothing was on the ground and now I go to see my inventory and dont even have the soreseal. Very weird.
I am more worried about what's outside of the fort than inside, I can't tell if my dumbass got lost or that giant white dragon is along the road that started screaming when I tried to get away from it and debuffed me
Just a question cause I have that talisman how much is the increase in damage taken is it really noticeable or since most people do big damage does it not really make a difference?
@@203cyclone As you go through the main story, you'll get more slots to equip extra talismans. I'm a little past the first main boss and I can equip two.
So there are two scarseals and two soreseals. Radagon for “physical” stats and Merika for magical stats. Apparently you can’t equip both Radagons or both Merikas but you can equip one of each to raise all stats.
