Ketchup Juice If you didn’t already know, a couple years back the f59phi locomotives were sold to metra by Amtrak California. They used to run of the Pacific Surfliner from Los Angeles to San Diego. These f59s were my childhood. Waiting at the station for the headlights to come around the bend with my old camcorder out was the best feeling of all. I sure do miss them but I believe their new home isn’t to bad.

Fun fact: Metra 217 is former Amtrak F40PH 364, that was sold to the Virginia Railway Express renumbered V32, was then sold to Metra in 2017 after VRE retired their F40PH-2s, rebuilt to a PH-3, and bears Metra's Thunderbolt Paint Scheme
Ah River Grove, I know that place well. My house is a 10 minute walk from there, just inside the Chicago boundary. I'd walk to that station a few times a week and record everything I could. I got videos and pics of the old F40Cs, a Milwaukee Road geep, plenty of old Soo Line locos, and more. Now a days I go down to Bensenville yards.

Same here. And soon were losing all f40ph’s as coaster is replacing theirs with chargers and Caltrain removing theirs for electric trains
