Metra, Canadian Pacific & Norfolk Southern at River Grove, 24.01.11

This is the former Milwaukee Road western mainline which joins the Indiana Harbor Belt one station to the west at well-known Franklin Park/B-12 Interlocking. Canadian Pacific/Soo/IC&E freights have trackage rights on Metra here to access the Belt Railway of Chicago at Cragin Junction. Norfolk Southern has rights here to access CP's Bensenville Yard. Metra's Milwaukee District, West Line and North Central Service commuter trains make up about half the traffic on this line.
Train 1:
Metra F40PH #122 leads 7 bilevel commuter coaches west on MD-W Line train #2219 into the River Grove station.
Train 2:
Inbound MD-W Line train #2238 is led by cabcar #8519 with 5 other bilevels and F40PH #104, the "City of Chicago" as it leaves River Grove.
Train 3:
Canadian Pacific AC4400CW #8603 is a one-engine wonder as it brings an autorack train west toward the BRC.
Train 4:
Metra F40PH #102, the "Village of Mokena", has 7 bilevels in tow on MD-W Line train #2221, heading west toward Elgin.
Train 5:
CP AC4400CW #9755 and Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern SD40-2 #6201, the "City of Pierre", run light from somewhere down the BRC, back toward Bensenville Yard.
Train 6:
Another one-engined CP train, this time a Chicago-bound manifest, is led by another AC4400CW, #8548
Train 7:
Inbound Metra MD-W Line train #2240 has MP36PH-3S #417 for power as it departs toward Union Station.
Train 8:
It's the beginning of the rush hour as MP36PH-3S #416 leads 8 bilevel coaches outbound on train #2223 toward Elgin...
Train 9:
...as a Norfolk Southern autorack train passes by on its way into the city, with SD60 #6703 and #6676 for power.
