@@tonyroman1569Yes, well-- it beats most of the crap RR's that exist today, so I can dream about it .
I know that I am not the only one.

All of your videos are well produced. Alco RS’s are one of my favorite engines.

Awesome. I was only 3 1/2 to 4, during those years. I do remember seeing the blue B&M running through Haverhill, MA. Hearing the Midnight fright running through from Riverside in Haverhill.

Wow that brings back some great memories. I lived not far from the Hoosac tunnel in the 70's. As a boy and into my teen years we would fish the Deerfield River. I have explored both west and east ends pretty well. It's been some time since I have been there but the west portal has changed significantly. Much of the infrastructure you see in the opening clip has been removed. On the east end, That wooden building before the bridge is long gone. I forget now when they took it down. If I also remember correctly the switch just before the bride is long gone too. There was siding and junction for the old Hoosac Tunnel and Wilmington RR that was in that area. After the Bear Swamp power project was finished in the mid part of the 70's that siding and the HT&R spur was removed as the road bed ran into the dam about a mile or so upriver. It is, or was, a great way to get upriver on foot quickly to fish back to the bridge. I was 6 or 7 around the time these films were shot. My memory of the details is lost to time. I cannot remember seeing the Maroon paint scheme on the locomotives but they must have been there. But I remember the deep snow and blue locomotives. I don't ever recall seeing a F unit loco out there. GP7 and GP 9's(? the low hood ones) and the Alco switchers locomotives I do remember. Cheers

Really enjoy seeing these RR movies from the mid-1960s to mid-'70s - back when I was doing most of my railfan activity as a teen/young adult. Brings back pleasant memories of hours spent watching trains at trackside.

Has anybody noticed one thing that's missing all the box cars? ... it's when people used to respect other peoples property. There's no graffiti on any of those cars back when it was a civilized country, not like it is today. They definitely knew how to Railroad back then ... not no more. 😢
