    Great action this week ! As new :
    -the headshunt used for the first time on screen
    -some nice crane action
    -and great actresses with a Mogul (no need to say more coming from me !), one of the most "specific" UK engine with the Q6 (rare breed, only another 0-8-0 tender type like her existed in the UK), the chubby over-the-top british 0-6-0 4F (I can't imagine UK steam without one of these !).

    Sometimes I look at the layout and I am treated to some wonderful scenes just like this. That is a nicely preserved old Hornby Dublo breakdown set, unmolested. I often wonder just how good the layout would look if you just showed the detail without any trains at all....I often think this is the ultimate test of a layout and certainly this would pass with flying colours. Thanks Mr R. and happy holidays. Cheers, Bob

    I thought the mogul was going to run round and shunt the breakdown train to get the BG at the other end before departing, then the 4F would return to it's train and continue. Nope a 3rd engine............didn't see that one coming. Great watch as always, thank you. All the best Dave.

    Hi, Lewis
    Just a continuity comment - which does not detract from a fascinating and instructive tale, woven with thought and verve. When the Q6 (63443) arrives to couple up to the detached crane kit, the headshunt is occupied by the rescued 4F (44044). This remains so, once Mogul (42969) couples up to the stranded coaching stock at 08:44 & at 08:59 the consist passes the 4F alongside the headshunt.
    However, by 09:32, in another rush edited in, the consist is passing the same site, adjacent to the signal box, but the 4F has vanished!
    Your stories and scenes are so realistic, especially when accompanied by the sounds, that such an vanishing act stood out.
    Not a criticism, more encouragement to produce additional high quality escapism. Peter

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  2 года назад +1

      That’s well spotted, the 4F had been transported by the Hand of God onto the workbench at that point - I just have filmed that shot later on in the day!

    It was good to see the old crane out working again. KWVR is worth a visit on their steam gala day if you want to record any sounds of a crane working. Not sure if any of the other preserved cranes are demonstrated.

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  2 года назад

    Looks like the tender derailed first to the left side of the track and then had magically slid to the right one when the rescue train arrived. Anyway, nice to see the red Dublo (originally Tri-Ang) red crane operating. One of the rarest models imported by Hornby France in the late 60s to complete its H0 range (and hastily compete with its local rival Jouef and its quite amazing 85t "Cockerill" model).

This is exactly the sort of thing when I made a few suggestions on one of your previous videos (about spending a day at each of the three stations, showing parts of your railway being used that we don't normally see) and you have certainly not disappointed here. As another poster mentioned earlier, I did wonder where the 4F disappeared to; was it something to do with the Tardis, although that is still on display? Ok, let me see if I understand this. The woman in the blue skirt who was murdered several months ago, has been replaced (by a Stepford wife, mayhap?)
    Blinded, the driver fails to notice the vegetation which has suddenly appeared upon the track, and proceeds to derail his tender. (Tender what, we may well ask?)
    Meanwhile, the Tardis lurks behind the depot for no reason we can discern.
    All is explained when the derailed 0-6-0 is first lifted onto the track, then snatched forthwith from this reality with only a green tractor to bear mute witness to the abduction!
    Has the happy young camping couple been snatched, too?
