For me (I'm 66), that is what a truck should look like! Beautifully perfect with great colors inside and out.
I did have a few Tonka trucks just like this, the red ones.

Gorgeous FSJ. I have a 83 that's 50% there. Much respect for the work you've put into your rig. A few years ago parts were everywhere...now things like fuel tanks seem to be non existent.

Poly fuel tanks are still available.
I wish someone would reproduce the tailgates :(

Yeah, parts are getting harder to find. We've been buying parts trucks to get what we need. Fuel tanks are available, as cschow mentioned below. But most things aren't available.

Even a rusty, crusty fuel tank can be patched with fiberglass resin and fiberglass cloth.

nicely restored J10 you have, I know very well how much work it is to restore an old J10 because I did the same on a 1985 Pioneer two years ago.

Sounds fairly good. About due for a camshaft, lifters and timing gears & chain. Really not difficult to replace.😎☕

For fans of this model, like me.
This truck was manufactured in Argentina since the 1960s by Industrias Kaiser Argentina (IKA), and then by IKA + Renault Argentina, first under the name "Gladiator" until 1967 and then as Jeep T80 and T1000, for 500 and 1000 kg. respectively, and also with 4x4 versions.
Undoubtedly a truck well ahead of its time, especially aesthetically.
It was manufactured in this country, until 1978.

I am certainly a fan of these...I have been for many years. Thank you for the information - IKA made some great vehicles. I also like the overhead cam straight six engine, especially after IKA did all the work to turn it into a reliable race motor. Sometime I'd love to have one of these motors!

Nice to know. I have a J10 that the cab has been in my garage for over 10 years. The bed is outside and only has some surface rust. I purchased it in Louisiana from an EBAY auction and flew down to pick it up. I slapped on my VA plates and drove it home at night stopping off in Raleigh, NC to visit my son. I got paid for hauling an engine for another Jeep fan so it paid for my gasoline. Installed bed liner soon after I got it home. It has a camper top that came with it so it is being used for storage of Jeep parts. The plans are to give it a new paint job and treating it gently after everything is updated. I like the paint job on Pioneer and the pin stripes so I am saving the video for inspiration.

You are making me jealous. I have a 1985 J10 long bed that I am restoring. It has a solid body and frame. I am going to save your video so I can use it for inspiration. I had trouble finding a gas filler hose but found a brand new one in Australia that I purchased. I believe that I have all the parts that I need to finish the restoration. I purchased new window glass for the doors from a junk yard in California many years ago. I even have some spare parts in a loft in my garage from earlier Jeep FSJs that I have owned and sold such as bumpers, grille and a bench seat. I wanted bucket seats so I bought a pair from the same jeep junk yard in California.

Door glass and cab rear window glass is flat, if I remember correctly.
A good glass shop, that handles automotive glass, should be able to cut brand new replacement windows. Even smoke tinted safety glass.

Where did you find the rear bumper end caps

    • @barbhansen6923
      @barbhansen6923  2 года назад

The end caps were on the truck when we got it. I've heard that someone on eBay is making aluminum end caps that will fit. They require painting, and aren't cheap. But, they are cheaper than any original you might find. Good luck
