I hear you loud.. I was paying $100 with the consultant I started with. She dropped me with no warning like three months in. I found a very good person and she charges $150 for 6 week retie. I am also a Sisterlock consultant and have chosen not to do my own hair. It’s a lot of work to do myself💁🏽♀️
It is really annoying they have such ridiculous prices. I know you don't want to do your own hair but at some point you might have to or maybe teach a family member that can help.
I don’t think the prices at face value are the issue, it’s time you see stylist wasting. It one thing when there’s a flat rate it’s another when the cost is based on time. I don’t feel I should be charged for the time spent making personal calls, ordering food, texting, or socializing with people in the shop. It’s crazy how many stylists don’t realize that’s stuff you do on personal time or breaks not while working on someone’s head

I pay $250 for 3 hours retie in NY. Mind you, my sisterlocks are the larger size and my length is short. I’m only a year in, i don’t know what to do at this point. 😞

Wow. Now I'm anxious. I started my sister locks journey a year and half ago in Philadelphia and I just moved to Austin, Texas and I am concerned and hope I will find someone who will do a good re-tight for a reasonable price. I used to pay $70-$80 for a 6week re-tight plus an optional $20 tip

And if you do the front the loctician can do the back for a reduced price.

I have microlocs and already pay $150 every 7-8 weeks.. I’m afraid the price will go up. I’m probably going to have to do my own reties eventually.
