BEASTMODE LEG DAY - Intense Leg Workout with Dumbbells | Day 1

- Yes! It’s Beastmode LEG DAY!
Focusing on the quads however hamstrings and glutes will be involved throughout!
For this lower body workout, you will need a pair of dumbbells, a yoga block/thick book (optional as this is simply to target the quads that bit more during squats and for greater range of motion in rear step lunges), a chair for Bulgarian lunges and a wall for yes… wall sits!
The dumbbells I am using are 12.5kg each.
Each exercise will be performed for 4 sets!
There is only one exercise within this workout that pops up only 3 times and is performed for only 1 set at a time; a 90 second wall sit! 🔥🔥🔥
The timer will be on for 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds rest throughout!
HEEL ELEVATED SQUATS X4 sets
STATIC LUNGE X4 sets
STAPLE: 90 SECOND WALL SIT!
STAGGERED SQUAT X4 sets
BULGARIAN LUNGES X4 sets
STAPLE: 90 SECOND WALL SIT!
LATERAL LUNGE x4 sets
HEEL ELEVATED SQUAT SLOW ECCENTRIC x4 sets
STAPLE: 90 SECOND WALL SIT!
ELEVATED REAR STEP LUNGE X4 sets

This is one of the hardest leg-workouts I’ve done in a while! Ouuuuch!!! The second and third set of wall sit really got my legs shaking. At the end of the workout it was already tough to walk properly. Guess it’s gonna be a challenge getting up and down the stairs in my house.😂

First time to do one of your workouts. The leg workout was a killer and I didn't use any weights. The wall sit was hard for me but so challenging. Love your workouts and Thank you for what you are doing. Will continue to watch you , workout with youand let you challenge me and inspire me.
First day of Beast Mode and I’m really looking forward to this good solid quad workout today...wall sits and Bulgarians must be everyone’s favourites!! PS...just finished! It is very hot here...at least for UK...and quad workouts are always sweaty...so now I am almost dissolved in sweat! I really enjoyed this...those 90 sec wall sits were just killing...but a brilliant challenge. I had to take a short...2 second... break in the second one after Bulgarians and half rep staggered squats my thighs had almost ceased working....but in the first and third I managed all the way through! This was a superb quad burner...what a great start to what is going to be a brilliant series! Have a great day Caroline and everyone! Matthew

Caroline, you unlocked Beastmode in me!! I’ve been working out with you for over 1.5 yrs and I’ve never felt what I felt yesterday! My quads got so pumped up by the middle of the workout that the pain went away and I was just pumping through reps like it was a walk in the park! Even my fast heart rate didn’t phase me. It was a new experience for me, wow! I guess this is what you call Beastmode! 😳

Wow! Just attempted this workout again after a few months and was able to do it with 12.5 kg weights, plus hold all the wall sits! It's been a slow but steady road to get here, and I am so happy.
Out camping with my husband and I was so nervous we weren’t going to have cell coverage to do the workout, but I just finished and boy am I glad I bought my dumbbells from home. Thank you Caroline for this killer workout…mosquito bites and all 😝

Hi Devansh, the intro is amazing! This workout has a lot of my least favorite exercises (Bulgarian lunges, wall sits, elevated squats and lunges, etc.) but I'm still super excited and I know my legs will be dead by the end! Have a great session!

What a way to start the Beastmode Series! That was great. It went by so quickly, but my legs felt like it was an hour! I don’t know how she held that wall sit for the entire time. I stood up at least 4 times but my goal each time was to last a little longer each time without taking a pause, and I did! So I’ll call it a win 😉
OMG I did it! I made it through all wall sits🙊🙈🙈 I couldn't even hold it for 10 sec before 🤫 thank you Caroline 😍😍
this is one of the best leg workouts on youtube i swear. i loooove repeating exercises. makes it go by so quickly. it's more of a drag to do 1 set of 30 different exercises haha.

OMG I can't believe I made it. Thanks Caroline for preparing for BEAST Mode. I didn't think I could do the marching wall sit but I did it - all wall sits done! 🥳🥳 so excited as just a couple weeks ago I felt totally burnt out.
I am too afraid to sit down, I might no be able to stand up. The best leg workout I have EVER done. Looking forward to Glutes&Hamstrings in a couple days.
This was fabulous! The 3rd set of the staple ( wall sits) were a particular challenge and I was heartened that Caroline also had to stand up (although I had to get up twice!😂 I very much appreciate the effort Caroline puts into creating these wonderful programs and for her to allow us to see her pushing through them.

Been a while since i've worked out with Caroline but this was definitely a wake up call to how much strength i've losed😭 however, i'm motivated ! nothing gets my legs burning as much as Carolines leg day, hopefully this program is what i need to get back into fitness. 2023 resolutions still count !

You really don’t know how amazing these workouts are and how much you need them until you stop doing them. I’ve had a bad week, it’s been hard to do the simplest of tasks and this workout is exactly what I needed. Just finished Day 1 of Beast Mode! Chose it as a way to literally, and figuratively finish up 2021 STRONG! Totally loved it, was elated that I could do the same weights as Caroline and do all the exercises quite easily (at the age of 67!). Caroline is definitely my favorite mentor in all things resistance training! Have learned SO MUCH since I found her!

Oh my word……what just happened? I started out in my workout room and then it’s all a blur. I was on a trip. I loved it.
I love sets, I love a solid weight lifting, strength workout. I barely made it through the last 2 sets of wall sits, never felt a burn like that in my quads. I sweated like a beast. It was a trip I tell ya. Thank you. I’ll be back for more.

Just WOW, i start training in january and after 4- 5 months i felt i hit a plateau. I needed more... then i find Caroline 😀 i really feel that i will get result. Love her way of challenging the body. After 3 weeks i feel more strong and i see my body changing. I just need to buy heavier weight😆

Day 1 Done. Great workout! 🌟🌟🌟 Had So Much Fun! Def a scorcher. 2nd set of first exercise already felt the burn. Elevated Rear Step Lunges got tricky with the balancing as my legs were shaking. Loved the Staple! Took it as a challenge to do Wall Sits for 90secs. Legs getting stronger. Finisher was just Brilliant.
Also did STELLAR Abs workout. 🤩

Done with 12.5kg dumbbells. Sure enough, those wall sits were absolutely brutal... I had to stop multiple times, my legs quaking like mad. Seeing the beautiful and athletic Caroline struggle as well is great motivation; you are struggling not because you are weak, but because the workout is very difficult. 💪🏼🔥
I can't resist an abs add-on workout so I did that too. 🙂

Just finished this intense workout and I can’t walk straight anymore. Definitely one of the most challenging workouts I’ve done. Did this in the boiling sun of Sydney Australia.
