You don't need to remove the dashboard fully. Just undo the screen screws and the bolts near the door and steering cowl. After that the dash will pull back about 3inch. simples.
Great video, lots of detail information. I'm ready to tackle my "81 Westy with some rust in the same area but not as bad. Would you recommend fiberglass work or reinforce bondo? Thanks for your whatever suggestion.
Champ! Thanks man! I have to do this to my beast - we don't have any pick-a-part's in Perth, WA though so if it's as rusted as that one was.. crikey.. I'm gonna need to take up a welding class :/
Dang , you guys were brave to work around that (…..) nastiness. I’m not generally easily queezy but , yeah , I’m feeling pretty ill . I’m convinced that North Americans are becoming more and more , errr , base . Or just , nastier . I’ve travelled in countries where people don’t have the luxury of pooping regularly in clean water (pretty weird that we do that , when you think about it) , but , for some reason I find what you guys endured far more , yuck factor 9.9 . I’d ask how much the yard charged for that front panel piece but , 4 years ago , idk. Good work !
Great job. Nothing better than renovation. Work of art.
1:37 Harbor freight for a couple suction cups
