This can lead to a lack of understanding of the fundamental principles of design and, consequently, less effective results.
To be a truly effective graphic designer, it's essential to have a solid understanding of design principles, combined with the ability to understand and meet the needs and goals of clients. This involves not only creating visually appealing designs, but also ensuring that these designs clearly communicate the desired message and meet functional requirements.
Therefore, while creativity and artistic expression are important in graphic design, they should always be aligned with a defined purpose and a deep understanding of the needs of the client and the target audience. This balance between creativity and functionality is what truly distinguishes good graphic designers.
