Love this man's music, writing / lyrics, persona / demeanor, and his eloquent speaking and raspy, otherworldy, and most unique singing voice. Their concerts are awesome. Richard's stage presence is something quite freeform / expressionistic, with a wonderful interaction with the audience, during live shows. He genuinely appears to Love performing and sharing his music, and it shows. He is Not aloof, like some artists can be, and comes across as a little reserved which adds to his natural charm and allure. Richard Butler / The Psychadelic Furs epitomizes Rock n' Roll and being a Class Act, simultaneously. 🤜💥🤛
I just caught the Furs here in Maryland last week. Absolutely fantastic show! The new album sounds amazing live and Richard's voice hasn't changed. Met Richard and got a hug and pic! What a night!
One of my all time favourite bands. Lucky to have seen the Furs many times, thanks to John Ashton kindly putting my friend and I on guest lists for a number of small shows they did in Sydney in the 80's. Amazing band live and they still do great shows. Nice guys all of them. Remain grateful to John for his kind gesture. Tim showed me over his bass at the Manly Vale hotel. Very down to earth guy. They had the drummer from the Birthday Party playing with them on that tour and Anne (RIP) on Cello. It was an odd tour given all the venues were relatively small. Also saw them at Enmore theatre in Sydney about 10 years ago. Another great show. Only me waiting at stage door after show which felt odd. They came out to their van and again happy to chat very approachable. Thanks for all the great music and memories.
Lots of 'self soothing' on Paula's part i.e. stroking of arms, legs etc. perhaps due to the underlying attraction for the Butler! Can hardly blame her, he's Yummy is Mr B!
Why is the Lady in Red Keep Scratching. Anyone? My Guess would be Heroine or some type of Opioid. Was this the Lady that dated Lead singer from INSX? I feel I have seen this Lady in a Documentary some kind, it's the voice.
@@ScottishTeeVee Sorry I wasn't clear. I understood that the "live performance in full....worldwide blocked by the bands record company" referred to the Psychedelic Furs in full so I was wondering if there was any way to access to their live performance. Thanks a lot.
@@alfparadise8670 I understand now. Yes I had uploaded the full performance, but it was totally blocked world wide, bits of the show can be seen on the Psychedelic Furs RUclips channel, but its not complete. I don't know where else to try and upload the video to in order to share it with others.
What a pity. I really like their music. Do you know how long does their entire performance lasts? Do they sing Run and Run or My Time? Have you seen their 1985 concert in Spain for the Spanish Music TV program La Edad de Oro? Really neat. Thank you.
Back then it was the thing to do, for bands. Stay in the UK and sell 50,000 albums or go to the USA and possibly sell a million, it was all about money.
Yeah, a couple dozen LA/ US. bands went to Europe to record so they could be Imports cuz there was no alternative section at the record store in the 80s. Sorry kids you missed out!: )
That's Paula Yates. Ex wife of Bob Geldof during the time he was setting up live Aid and ex lover of INX frontman Michael hutchence at the time of his death. She died not long after of a heroin overdose. Quite a rock chick and big celebrity here in the UK was Paula and certainly alot more famous than Richard Butler.
That's Paula Yates. She's dead now but believe me alot more famous and more successful than Richard Butler. He would of been very honoured to have been interview by her whilst she was still alive before she died of a heroin overdose. Her ex husbands/lovers were alot bigger Rock stars than Richard Butler. Although knowing Paula she would of probably fucked him after the show 😉

@@Davo-007 that's extremely sad. Teaches me the old rule never judge people till you get to know them a bit. I'm sorry to be callus. Be at peace mam. And again I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Its just the psychedelic furs are still very highly respected here.
@@lisetteheilman6361 I love the Psychedelic furs myself. They are doing a UK tour soon and I'm hoping to catch them. Just putting the facts right. That interview was on Paula's music show called 'The Tube' A very respected music show in the UK through the 80s, all the great rock bands at the time wanted to be on it and some great bands got discovered on it. Paula would often flirt with the bands whilst interviewing them, just like she is here with Richard Butler, and has she did with Michael Hutchence which led to an affair with him whilst married to Sir Bob Geldof. Michael Hutchence has we know died mysteriously and she committed suicide not long after from a Heroin overdose. You should read about her, she had such a colourful life that came with such a sad ending. Proper Rock & Roll.
We used to think Paula Yates was a bit crap at interviewing but looking back, she's pretty damn good. She asks good questions and she's kind of natural and sexy. Poor old Paula. And Peaches.
Fascinating footage. Richard Butler seemed like a decent bloke. Why does Paula Yates keep scratching her legs during the interview? Her slightly derogatory tone of voice in her comment at the end, of 'we are now going to go back to something weird and bizarre , the singing twins, its the Proclaimers again.' Stands out in an ironic way. As the Proclaimers have survived to this day, and are much better know than than The Psychedelic Furs or Paula Yates. I m not putting either of them down. I was a fan of Paula Yates. Just saying.
Why would you even ask something like that? He's been photographed and caught on video with several girlfriends from back in the day and he has a daughter now. I don't think gay men would be too jazzed in following those footsteps, do you?...

Shocking interviewer. Richard deserved so much better.
Have you seen him lately he's aged quite well. And who the hell is she😄
Yep, didn't care for her "unhealthy" comment. He looks great...
Yes reading her questions which were mostly crap!
@@kitchfairman5043 Umm. She's Paula Yates. Very famous. Ex wife of Bob Geldoff and baby mama of Michael Hutchence
Great hair
fantastic performance !! We saw them tonight at Buffalo NY
Oh that hair. I had it too.
He is like David Bowie and Johnny Rotten blended up into one human being
Yup I can see what you are talking about
Totally! But like a hint of Brad Pitt pretty boy in there too.
i think just very english
wait, he isn't welsh, is he ? na brainfart
Going to see them tonight at Tipitina's in New Orleans! My third time seeing them. Richard Butler rocks!! 💕🥰
Have fun!
Saw them a fourth time this Spring. Truly beautiful!
The man!
What the heck is she scratching??? Love you Richard!
Razor burn on her legs, I guess
Her biscuit
Smack withdrawal
Morphine itch
At one point she's about to start scratching the microphone
Lots of 'self soothing' on Paula's part i.e. stroking of arms, legs etc. perhaps due to the underlying attraction for the Butler! Can hardly blame her, he's Yummy is Mr B!
I'm straight dude I can honestly say he is much prettier than David Bowie!
She's rubbing herself due to the drugs in her system.
Absolutely 👏🏻
delicious man...
Thanks for watching and commenting Barbara🙂
I love how human he is. Like an everyday guy. Love you Richard. I don't like Paula.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for commenting
Yeah, well, we men have to deal with women like that.
What about Richard Butler is not to love?? He's like a perfect cross between David Bowie and John Lydon. I just adore him and the Furs.
Rich knew what trouble Paula was. I will never forgive her because I feel she was a big part of why Michael Hutchence died.
Love the furs ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching and commenting Katie-Jo

Wayne...Yes
i think he's a very shy guy, you can see it on his movements. he doesn't really feel well
Vagisil works wonders.
The apex!
She's scratching herself like a junkie.
Not "like a junkie." She actually was a heroin user and died from it.
What does heroin have that Richard Butler doesn't?
@@cathsalazar9930 That buggy interviewer is scratching at herself.
