Does anyone think it would be cool if they turned The Fire Tides from a scraped graphic novel into a high to medium budget 45 minute short film. I know I would. And it would also be more epic and more interesting.

yeh, there was a segment that I cut out explaining that the dragon feeds from Drago's rage and because of that it ignores the Alpha's roar.
@@NewOrca Why does it have to be just rage Drago is feeling that the dragon is feeding on? Why not other possible emotions he's probably been bottling up and hiding? What about possible grief about losing his village and parents? I'm getting sick of the whole he doesn't have other human emotions that don't give a shit about his parents being killed, they have no part in his motives and its all about him simply wanting power and not because he thinks this is what his parents would have wanted so is partly doing it to make them proud.
Personally I was a little disappointed that they didn't go into detail what happened to Drago in the third movie, so I am glad that some of that info is out there and hopefully the comics will release at some point. They sound extremely interesting! And the fact that these things are planned makes a lot more sense why they they didn't go into detail in the third movie, it was sort of planned all along.
Also now you have peeked by curiosity when it comes to #ShirtlessHiccup, hopefully I don't scream in bisexuality.

The original idea they had for Drago in the 3rd movie was he was supposed to have a redemption arc due to him getting washed up on an island home to another dragon so he had to figure out how to earn its respect in order to get off the island. But they cut this out due to the arc required a lot more time and work on it which they didn't have to do and slot it into the film's screen time. Which I don't understand why they didn't just use THIS idea since they probably would have had more time at that point instead of tossing that out the window and going with this whole: He learns nothing, is hell bent on killing Hiccup so Hiccup kills him the end. Cuz I actually hate this idea. Why waste a good redemption arc if you had plans to redeem him in the first place? Making him stay evil and dies just makes his entire backstory with the whole potential trauma he's suffering due to what dragons did to him pointless and irrelevant.

Gotta admit, I do love your videos. HTTYD is still my fav film to this day so to see all the videos and to also see someone takes passion with this franchise as well. I’m so happy to see this love for these films, so thank you for the vids

I don't really like what they're gonna do with him in this comic. Sounds like they're just going with "He learns nothing from his defeat at Berk and Hiccup is gonna end up killing him". Especially when taking into consideration his scrapped role in the 3rd movie where he was supposed to get some actual character development and steps to redemption as he got stuck on an island that was home to a single dragon that he had to figure out how to earn its trust and respect due to it being his only way off the island which he ends up becoming attached to it. I seriously thought they were gonna adapt this concept into the comic. But no....
Drago's not had a happy beginning in life which he didn't do anything wrong as a child to deserve this beginning. Why should he have an unhappy ending? What because of Stoick? BS! Dagur wasn't nice to dragons and he's guilty of killing Heather's adopted parents yet he gets a second chance and a happy ending!

Hiccup fighting Draggo sounds so cool, cause he may be a passifist, but he's cappable of running someones fade no issues at all.
When I saw audrys video ( I don't know if I spelled her name right ,but if I did I'm sorry) I was surprised that he was alive, I thought he drowned, because he had one arm and he can't swim with it, I was also surprised that dragos arm was bitten off by the unholy offspring of lighting and death itself, I guess some peoples theory about night furies and Drago was correct, I also love idea of having dragos metal arm replaced by a tormentepede I'm drawing my own design of the species, and I love valka's backstory in fire tide, I was expecting the speed stingers to have a redesign, like the fireworms and the skrill in the third movie if the graphic novel is ever released. You should talk about the characters all the time.

Personally I was never too big a fan of Drago Bludvist explicitly because his motivations was never too clear to me besides the capturing and taking over the world.
I mean if they set him up like Viggo Grimborn as this brilliant strategist that wants to utilise the dragons as a means for financial or utilitarian gain then I would've been more satisfied with it. But as it stands he was still pretty decent as a villain in my eyes.
The villains in the series are better than the movies'
@@mr.darkassassin7997 I agree. I think it's because they had more time to develop their villains in a multiseries than they ever could in a film. I think they could've executed the films better by presenting the villains differently but for what we got I'd give them a solid rating.
@@scott1660 Yup tbh I heard that Drago is going to be returned in the third movie as the original idea but the writers scrapped the concept and replace Drago with Grimmel, that could've been better for Drago's development character and improvement from the second movie. I really liked if the franchise only had one main villain
I saw so many people saying Grimmel is better than Drago, tbh I had some issue with him too he's kinda undeveloped as Drago he had a backstory why he killed all the night furies but they never really showed him anyway making him less threatening to humans and dragons' race I know Grimmel is a portrayed being the Hiccup's antithesis but the execution just fell apart
@@mr.darkassassin7997 Yeah I also heard that Drago was going to be reintroduced into the 3rd film although I would like to say that Grimmel is a more refined version of Drago so they really should've just changed it so that he had either humbled himself in order to sharpen his plot for revenge or simply doubled down on reasoning for his existence outside ruling using dragons.
The biggest threat in all of the films in regards to "villains" unsurprisingly was the Red death in the first film. She controlled the other dragons through fear, she displayed she was ruthless in killing other dragons for the sake of hunger, she was built up consistently throughout the film and then had a massive pay off in her death permanently scarring Hiccup by taking his leg. None of the other villains in the series had such a greater set up except maybe Drago when he killed Stoic but even then it felt somewhat shoehorned in.

If Drago doesn't have a redemption then i'm gonna be mad. Cuz he was supposed to have a redemption in the 3rd movie to begin with. Why waste that?
Also i'm disappointed that its a Night Fury bit off his arm. Considering he's implied to be from far away from the Viking region and a more warmer climate I thought the dragons where he lived were a whole different set of species native to warmer climates but no its a dragon we've already seen and know about....
Its possible Nightfuries come from warmer climates but were driven here, hence the rarity.
It would've been cool if said Nightfury was maybe Toothless' family member
Would have been amazing to see him redeemed maybe reestablishing a healthier connection with his old bewilderbeast, and I would not mind if he died helping Berk and the dragons, it might have also given Grimmel a more stand out role as a Dragon slayer while Drago would be seen as a failure of a conquerer or something

It simple. He drowned. Nobody would survive that fall, while standing on top of the forehead when the forehead it’s another object. The pressure would have prevented him from reaching the surface in time as well, considering he only had one arm, even the prosthetic arm wouldn’t help

Steven Spielberg is the cause of the change in the Third movie. DeBlois wanted to show Drago’s change in between the middle of the movie. Grimmel should’ve been in the warlords place as a secondary antagonist. To me he didn’t stand out as intimidating, spouting out crappy one-liners. The movie is a great movie but it dragged out to me. Drago should’ve sent Grimmel after toothless. Hiccup and Toothless would have both had their primary villains. The invasion into the dragon world would’ve been great as the climax.
The comic book could be become the new httyd show instead of 9 realms

at what point did hiccup become a pacifist? he killed the Red death in cold blood after all. not to mention countless dragonhunters, berserkers, outcasts, and speedstingers.
It's a moral he develops as he gets older and does uphold. When has he ever killed a berserker? But at times he may feel he has to break it in extreme circumstances but that very, very rare.

I hate the concept of Drago learning nothing, stays evil and then Hiccup kills him when an early concept for the 3rd movie actually involved him developing into a better person by getting washed up on an island that was home to an aggressive dragon (the species wasn't confirmed) and he had to figure out how to earn the dragon's trust so he could get off the island while in the process he ended up growing attached to it and he was supposed to eventually side with Hiccup in the climax to take down Grimmel as Drago also had beef with Grimmel due to him taking control of his fleet during his absence. Why has nobody made a video which discusses about this scrapped 3rd movie arc for Drago?
Oh and a Night Fury turning out to be the dragon species that ripped off Drago's arm because he tried doing the exact same thing Hiccup did with Toothless is such a lazy idea. Just because he's supposed to be Anti-Hiccup doesn't mean his bad experience with dragons needs to be an exact carbon copy of what Hiccup did! Not to mention it doesn't explain why his village got destroyed (what did that one Night Fury do it?) nor does it show us anything about his family like what they looked like and his relationship with them before they were killed. Considering Drago is supposed to be from some other land/country that is much hotter and sunny and far away from the Norse region you'd think where ever Drago lived there would be a totally different set of species of dragons. So I seriously thought we would get to see some species we haven't seen before that are only found where ever Drago used to live.

@@Sahintali This comic did have potential with all the other plots and stuff that were supposed to happen in it.
Just either remove Drago entirely so his fate is still ambiguous leaving it up to the fans to imagine if he did die or survived so everybody gets to be happy. Or just use what was supposed to happen with him in the 3rd movie by tweaking it a little (along with a better flashback and the dragons responsible for ripping off his arm and massacring his village not being Night Furies) and we're good to go.
