This op catches an entire different energy from the game this makes it look gloomy and serious and badass while in the game is funky seriousness and you know what? I like that
And the voice acting. Hearing Ren's voice ALONE makes the anime's existence worth it for me. Not to mention the fact that all the other English VA's are phenomenal.
Considering how this animation was funded by the creator, I would imagine the lack of budget , and yet he gave us an animation anyways ? I respect that! :D I think of the animation as a supplement to the game so I played and watched it synonymously and it worked out great
To be honest, a lot of the issues when I watched it when the anime was first released is how weird they animated all out attacks, how boring Ren was compared to Yu or P3 Makoto and the approach to the palaces and bosses which I think should have had episodes each

I think these lyrics really fit the themes of Persona 5. It starts calm and the chorus really pops off maybe symbolizing the Phantom Thieves anger as they awaken. The main chorus “Break in to break out” shows that the thieves are breaking into the palace in the metaverse to escape their prison in the real world. This only really works with the new party member of the palace. Futaba with hereself, Ann and ryuji for kamoshida, Yusuke for maderame, kaneshiro and makoto don’t really match, but you could say that Makoto is following Sae’s justice, Haru with Okumera, Akechi with Shido because of the rank 10 scene.
When that chorus kicks in with those violin strings, I get goosebumps everytime. Such an amazing song. Wish they could've incorporated this song into P5 Royal, *Minor spoiler ahead for those who never beat it* . . . . . ...more specifically, during the Holy Grail fight just before the final boss.

That song and clip are fitting sooo much to general character of the Persona. It's often funny and happy serie, but that song underline the darkness and seriousness really good, because these are also present in game and anime. I love it. It's epic! I have goosebumps! I want awaken my own persona -.-
I always loved this opening more than the second one. The second opening was too long and too slow while this one had a steady pace and I just really loved the part with joker in the subway car 😅
People are going nuts about the anime being rushed, but they are forgetting that this is a freaking 100+ hour game. Details are gonna be glossed over. I thought the animation was awesome given the amount of time it had.

I think I would've liked the anime better if it had more creative freedom. The P4 anime had fun gags and interesting moments, the P3 movies made changes to work as a 4-part film and give the MC a character arc, so I was underwhelmed by a straight adaptation of P5.

That is, if the anime Persona Part 4 and the additional anime story come out just as good. But that's not to say that no one knows about it and it's bad because it doesn't match Persona Part 5.
watch the p4 animation and p3 movies, massive difference in quality. the p5 animation lacks a lot of the charm and passion those did, some of which was fully intentional. for example, they purposefully made ren bland to stick with the "insert protag" idea which was a horrific idea for the anime, where as the p4 anime makes incredible characterization of yu from his highs to his lows
I know that the anime isn't great, but as someone who cant afford a ps4 or a ps5 its great for me cause it allows me to get to know the story line and characters without spoiling the uniqueness of the characters who I hope that one day I will be able to learn about in the actual game
