@@saiko_oro Amen to that. I found it enjoyable overall and the anime actually did some things better than the game (mainly when it came to establishing Joker and Akechi's relationship), but it suffers from poor animation in some areas as well as lackluster pacing.

I think of the animation as a supplement to the game so I played and watched it synonymously and it worked out great

To be honest, a lot of the issues when I watched it when the anime was first released is how weird they animated all out attacks, how boring Ren was compared to Yu or P3 Makoto and the approach to the palaces and bosses which I think should have had episodes each

Despite how much criticism the anime gets the ops are pretty good
Pretty good is putting it lightly. It’s where the damn budget went lol and it shows
And the voice acting. Hearing Ren's voice ALONE makes the anime's existence worth it for me. Not to mention the fact that all the other English VA's are phenomenal.
It's almost like like they made the intros and then said "ya know what? We should make this into an anime"
Only the first intro is good, the second is just random things that happen. Like Futaba playing basketball and Ann and Ryuji naked?

I think these lyrics really fit the themes of Persona 5. It starts calm and the chorus really pops off maybe symbolizing the Phantom Thieves anger as they awaken. The main chorus “Break in to break out” shows that the thieves are breaking into the palace in the metaverse to escape their prison in the real world. This only really works with the new party member of the palace. Futaba with hereself, Ann and ryuji for kamoshida, Yusuke for maderame, kaneshiro and makoto don’t really match, but you could say that Makoto is following Sae’s justice, Haru with Okumera, Akechi with Shido because of the rank 10 scene.
Persona 5 and it's music and characters and style are just... some of the best I've ever seen.
I'll love it and remember it forever.

That is, if the anime Persona Part 4 and the additional anime story come out just as good. But that's not to say that no one knows about it and it's bad because it doesn't match Persona Part 5.
watch the p4 animation and p3 movies, massive difference in quality. the p5 animation lacks a lot of the charm and passion those did, some of which was fully intentional. for example, they purposefully made ren bland to stick with the "insert protag" idea which was a horrific idea for the anime, where as the p4 anime makes incredible characterization of yu from his highs to his lows

@@player2-lightwater914 JoJo and Persona are pretty similar franchises about a bunch of people that use spiritual manifestations of their inner selves to punch for them, and P4 and Part 4 are so similar in premise and plot being about a bunch of high schoolers chasing a serial killer.
While JoJo Stands have very, very oddly specific and absurd powers which adds creativity to the fights, Personas (Personae?) are limited to physical and elemental magic, but the similarity is still there. And iirc Hirohiko Araki is good friends with the creators of Persona.

I love the intro i would repat this sequence from time to time just to listen to the song especially the beginning.
That song and clip are fitting sooo much to general character of the Persona. It's often funny and happy serie, but that song underline the darkness and seriousness really good, because these are also present in game and anime. I love it.

I always loved this opening more than the second one. The second opening was too long and too slow while this one had a steady pace and I just really loved the part with joker in the subway car 😅

It's been a month since I finished the anime and oh boy I want to watch it again 😭

The anime is actually really good, it's just that most people are really biased to the game rather than the anime. Despite its flaws, it still manages to capture the feeling of the story.
I think I would've liked the anime better if it had more creative freedom. The P4 anime had fun gags and interesting moments, the P3 movies made changes to work as a 4-part film and give the MC a character arc, so I was underwhelmed by a straight adaptation of P5.
