Symptoms commonly caused by a bad main board in this model include:
-No sound

In this video we are going to show how to replace the main board in this Vizio E601i-A3 model. We will go over the boards in the TV. Here we have the main board, this takes in all your inputs, so it has your HDMi, RCA connections, VGA, Tuner connection and everything there. So this is your main board here, this cable here goes over to the controls on the side of the TV, where you can turn on your TV, or change the channel. This cable here runs to the power supply board, these two LVDS cables run to the T-Con board, which is right here. These wires go to the speakers.
Over here we have the power supply board, it has one cable here that goes to the main board. Then here it has one cable that goes to the panel and here a connection that goes to where you plug in the TV. That is off the camera shot.
Down here we have the T-con board. The T-con board has the two LVDS cables that go to the main board and then we have two ribbon cables here that go to the panel.
In order to replace the main board, we will want to start by disconnecting all of the cables on here. We will now show a close-up to see how to disconnect them. Disconnect all of these cables and connections and then remove the screws that hold this main board to the panel.
Pull these connections out. Be very careful with the LVDS cables as they are very fragile. So we have disconnected all of the connections, now we will go ahead and remove the screws that hold the board to the panel.
We have removed all of the screws and now we will pull the board off the panel. Then you can put your replacement board in the exact same location that you just removed your other board. Then we will put the screws in to attach the main board to the panel. Then we will reconnect all these cables and connections. Pinch in on the side of these LVDS cables. Push them in tight. There you have it, we have replaced the main board for this TV.

still be heard. This issue is attributed to a limited batch of chip assemblies from a supplier, in which there is a small percentage chance that the chip assembly prematurely fails; this causes the timing control board to be disabled, which disrupts the video signal to the display. Do I replace the T-Con board or the Main board?

Hi Jimmy, I have a Vizio E420i-AO when I push the power button I see a faint stand-by light at the bottom of the T.V which fades out after 3 seconds. No picture, No backlight or sound. any recommendations? Thank you!

Now, there is sound and the inputs change, but there is no video. I tried the composites from the Blu_Ray player and had the same issues. Is this the main board or maybe the TCOM board?

Just watched this. I have the Vizio XVT423SV. The HDMI #3 input is sensitive to cord movement (regardless of cord used) resulting in loss of picture. Suspect the #3 port is shorting out/faulty. Your video appears to offer the correct solution/fix. I am not sure however if the HMDI ports are a part of my model's main board as I can not find complete description of mother board(s). Advise please.

hi. I have a Vizio xvt423sv. recently, it shut down by itself during a storm. After reseting all the power, I tried to turn it on but it will only show the orange standby light on the bottom of the tv. there are no visible damage to any of the boards or components. The screen is completely black and will not turn on. Any help you can give is much appreciated.
I have an Visio e65-C3 with issues. About 6 months ago our neighbors house was directly struck by lightning. We lost our surround sound head unit and other things throughout our house. Over time our TV has started acting out. First, the smart apps starting timing out when we would try to stream something. After a few more weeks the vizio button wouldn't even bring up the smart app bar (I'm guessing the smart TV component is dead). Last night, at the very end of "Age of Ultron" the tv started power cycling. It would come up for about 1 min then restart. Now it restarts every 30 seconds. I'm wondering if I need to replace the main or power board. Any suggestions?

We have a Vizio E500I-B1 with no backlights, but has sound, and passes the flashlight test with images on screen. Figure LED driver board based on your wonderful videos/info. However, took the back off and there is no individual LED board, just the T-Con, main and power boards. Do we replace the whole power board? Thank you!
Have Vizio E601i-A3 Used to work perfectly well. For no apparent reason we lost use of remote control, as well as the control buttons on the side edge of the TV. Cycled power many times, changed batteries, and discovered some off combinations of the side buttons pressed gave some control of the unit. Managed a factory reset too did not seem to help. Can't access any Smart Tv network functions. What do you recommend. Video is perfect, just can not control the unit.
We bought this tv years ago & got about 6 months use before the problem started, vizio smart tv model E601i-A3 SERIAL # LFTRNWBP2502118. We bought online from Walmart, but before it arrived, my husband decided to take down the wall between our room & the bedroom next to it. We left it in the box for about 6 - 7 months, before we hooked it up. It worked about 6 months before it made loud noise and shut off, we rebooted it & it worked for a while & did it again. The TV has been setting since, my husband was going to get it fixed, but didn't follow through. He passed away 3 months ago & I've decided I want to repair it. I called Vizio when we found out about the recall, but was told out TV wasn't on the list & the warranty had expired 6 weeks before! At the time he paid around $1000, a lot of money for us. Can you give me any advice? I think one of your videos covered this but I can't find it now.
Hey ShopJimmy, I have a Visio E601i-A3. the backlight on the LED screen goes out after a couple hours of usage. I initially replaced the t-conn board because the i thought the whole screen was going out and it did not have a problem for a few weeks then it started up again. I realized the problem was just the backlight so I replaced the power supply board and again the problem went away for a few weeks then started up. do you think the backlight is just bad or should I try to replace the motherboard?
I have a Vizio M50-D1 and I ordered the complete repair kit from your website and am having an issue where the sound works fine via the sound bar via hdmi and the tv just momentarily goes black for a few seconds randomly after being on briefly and then shows the picture along with the info screen as if it was just turned back on. I have tried 3 different hdmi cables switch's Sound bars etc which makes me think it is one of the boards causing the issue. Which boards should I replace when I have the tv open. I was planning on saving the replacement boards that don't need to be replaced yet for another time if needed.
Vizeo, E601i-A3 & E701i-A3, Over the Air Broadcast channels dropping in and out. Sometimes it works great, other times, it seems to loose them. I've connected another TV to the coax and it holds the channels with no known issues. I've had this TV drop the audio out on Broadcast Channels as well. I figure it's the RF Tuner but do you have any suggestions?

I have a Vizio E420 A0 and I am not sure where the t-con is located. Is it on the Mainboard? the simptoms my tv has is that the image flickcers, and the color changes to green. I just need to change the T-con and Main board. but as I said, i dont know if the t-con is separated from the mainboard.

Is the power board replaceable by moving the screws and cable removal like the main board?
I have a question. I have a Vizio Eu43u-D2. I have power and a picture, however the picture is jumpy/hopping. I unplugged one side of the ribbon cables that go from the T-con board to the panel and it shows half the screen off and the other half is jumping/hopping. If I do the reverse/opposite ribbon cable the half of the screen that works, is a perfect clear image. I replaced the T-con board, but that didn't fix anything. Is the main board the issue?
Hi Jimmy. I have the Vizio E6019-A3e. I had a power surge during a lightning storm and am unsure of what's going on. When I hit power, I don't believe I'm getting any backlighting, but I do get the led light and the red light by the fiber optic input to come on. I have no picture, sound, and the flashlight test didn't seem to work. I don't see any obvious burn marks on the boards. Where should I start?
I have a vizio tv model E55oi-AO. Sometimes when I turn it on the picture is almost like a it is a negative of a picture and it will not go away by itself. If I turn it off and then back on, it sometimes fixes the picture. What do you think is going on?
I have the Vizio E701i-A3. It has back light but no picture at all even on the flashing test. I’m not sure about sound but there is none right now but I’m not certain anything would be producing sound. I ordered a new t-con board for it but after further diagnostics I found the 12 volts is not being sent from the main board to the t-con board on one side of the cables. I have a vizio M3D650SV which gave out on us with a loud pop.. had absolutely no power, (I tested the outs and they all read 0)
I went ahead and replaced the power board and now I have it will turn on to standby (bottom logo that says vizio will be on orange then white when it turns on) but no backlight, picture, or sound.
What should I be looking at next?

Have a Vizio model E320-AO. Can't remove back cover after all screws removed. Don't want to break plastic. Is there a trick or pry point to remove? Someone yanked on the TV while cable was still screwed on and busted off threaded connection-need to replace, fix or solder back on. Thanx

Jimmy's I have a Vizio TV that lost all sound from the TV (Model M706-G3). Attaching a soundbar works. I have read that it is most likely the main board. Are there any other troubleshooting steps I should do to confirm? Please note that the day the sound stopped on the tv, the tv did had an electrical smell come from it. The soundbar works fine, but now the IR sensor also went bad, so while I replace it, I might as well replace the main board and get my internal sound back at the same time.
vizio 550vl shows menu but all pictures are a scrambled screen. same on all inputs sound works great?

I have Vizio and never used the component input for Wii until trying to now...Wii worked on other TV but not on my older, but bigger, E601i-A3. Wii controllers work and Wii drive spins up like always, but get a "No Signal" indication when I am on the component hookup INPUT. I know it could mean several things to trouble shoot, but any suggestions on where to start?

I have the TV above, Visio E601i A3. Pretty sure lightening got it. At first we had sound but no pic then so after the sound quit. With the back off, I have a red light in the main board and the white light showing power on. It tends to flicker and go off along with the red light on the main.Screen is black at all times. What do you think?

Hi theres this vizio m series i want to buy that has a picture blur problem at the bottom of the screen. It flickers then The picture looks like it doubles and it happens every couple minutes. I'm wondering if replacing the main board will fix it. Its a good deal on the tv and the main board is 50 bucks.

My Vizio HDTV Mdl E601i-A3 audio varies greatly over a period of several minutes. Also I don't think there is any output at the audio out jacks. It appears that I need to replace the Main Board. I could not find this board on your catalog search page. Do you sell replacements? If not what is the board ID.

Hello, I have a quick question that maybe you could help when figuring out what part I need. I have a Vizio XVT473SV TV. The television turns on and the standby logo flashes (orange to white) for about 30 seconds. Finally the TV stay in an orange standby. I turn the TV on, and there is no picture, but I can get sound out of it. I purchased a main board thinking that was the problem, but the TV still does the standby logo flashing. Finally I turn the TV on, I get the bootup logo and it's stuck on that screen with no sound. Did I receive a faulty main board? yes I have a Vizio E70-C3 I already replaced the T-con board because I thought it was the issue. the TV comes on and the backlight lights up the TV and then after a few seconds and goes black again and then starts this pattern with a green line in the center it goes up and it goes out a lot of vertical lines different colors just not the type of symptoms that would make me consider the LCD screen yet I also am not sure that it's the main board but as I said I've already replaced the t-con board once you send me an email I will send you a video are these actual symptoms as they take place if that will help

I have a Vizio model D65-F1, 17 days after my 2 year warranty expired the TV started cutting on and off by itself repeatedly, it never would fully come on, only the V emblem would show then it would cycle of, after some time it would occasionally come on to a channel but I could not change channels, turn the volume up or down, nothing would function, then it would cut back off and start cycling power again. I have a Vizio 60" E601i-A3. My toddler sprayed febreze on the screen and it when out. The TV has sound and it lights up to a blue screen(not as bright as normal) then gets dimmer. It brightens each time you push a function like volume or menu ect.. I have tested the transistor on the T-con. The side with two leads I get continuity on one and the other I get nothing(not sure it that is normal). Can you please help me avoid having to to purchase a new TV as it is not that old. Also, with the flash light test I can't see any images like menu or volume... Thanks!
HEY BUD I HAVE A VIZIO M SERIES 46" LED 3D TV. I TOOK OFF THE BACK AND CHECKED THE POWER SUPPlY AND MOTHER BOARD AS WELL AS THE OTHER COMPONENTS FOR BAD CAPACITORS or burn marks. Everything appears good like new. The TV will not start and doesn't light the Vizio LOGO. It went off before and a day later it came back on and worked normally. Then it went out again for weeks. Then i plugged it in and had a perfect blue screen no lines. It did not have any settings options or menu .The side buttons on the TV would not function. I tried the 30 second power off unplugged then restart and now it will not come on at all as before.I tested the fuse and it beeped as good.Weird to me that it may start sometimes to a blue screen and then shut down completly for weeks.(Solid Black) Any suggestions or recommendations would be most appreciated. I have this same model (E601i-A3 ). TV turns, you see it light up, but screen is still darkish and no logo when it turns on like you usually see when it turns on. The screen then darkens a bit after about ten seconds, but not as dark as when it is off. When hitting Menu you get no visual to that it's been opened. The sound through HDMI ports works fine though so it is just the picture not working. Which board should I replace? Thanks.

Have a Vizio M550NV 55". It powers on, Vizio logo flashes orange/white/orange...etc, goes solid white on the logo, backlights power up but no picture or sound. I've checked all fuses and OK. I have a question....so I have a rca 42 inch flat screen tv... one day the picture stopped working and I thought hey it may be my main board. This happened four years ago so I lost the information on what exact main board i need so I'm going off of the one i ordered to fix it the first time. Now the one i ordered to fix the problem at the beginning ended up burning the video part of the circuit because for some reason the manufacturer made the male end (on the main board) alot bigger then the female end (wire that plugs into the main board) so I have to match it up perfectly which I didnt and it shorted the circuit...could I have gotten the wrong main board if so I dont know what exact main board I need. I've been stuck on this question for four years now I hope you guys can help. I called everywhere and they tell me they cant help me with any information either because I didnt buy it from them or my warranty is up....I'm stuck and need help. I dont want to throw it away because it seems like a simple fix I just dont know what part I need. hi I have a vizio 47" VL470M....the picture is working fine but the front vizio light is blinking white and the sound is also blinking in and out in sinc with the light....is it the main board? please help....I love this channel and your vids....thank you for the info
Hello...I have a Vizio E420I-AO Flat Screen TV, Today 9.6.2015 I turned the TV on with the remote and the TV came on however I am not able to change channels nor turn the TV off via the Remote Control or the Side panel Buttons. The only way to power off the device is to Unplug the power cord from the back. I have changed the batteries to no avail. I went and purchased a Universal Remote and the same thing occurs.
Once Unplugged from the rear the unit will power on from the side panel buttons but instantly freezes and it cannot be powered off nor can the channels be changed. When powered on there is a picture and audio....Thank You in advance, Wayne

If your TV panel is bad, it may be more cost-effective to replace the TV as panels are typically hard to find in stock, difficult to replace, and expensive. i have a vizio e601i-a3, it has intermitnet problem it powers on ok then may shut off after few hours wont power up then un plug wait and repeat power light comes on and the logo comes up but thats it
Hey. Love the Channel. I have a Vizio VT470M that has black screen( no backlights). I have replaced the inverter board with no change. It comes on and the Vizio light on the front lights up then dims. The main board was replaced a while back and all seems to work with it. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. +David Michael Franks Try all repairs and troubleshooting at your own risk. I recommend running the flashlight test on your TV. I have the E601 i-A3E and I have back light, sound, but no picture. I ordered a new Tcon board from your website, but the problem stayed the same. Should I switch the main board too? The notes for that part suggest it would usually not be the main board. I'm stuck!

I have a Vizio M65-C1, I came home one night and tried to turn the power on, nothing! No standby Light, no clicking, nothing. I took the TV apart. There are NO visible signs of damage, blown capacitor etc. I began probing. The current going into the Tv from the wall is 117.9V (a little low, but i tested two wires and multiple outlets and they also read 117V). The Ceramic slow blow fuse is also good. Capacitor banks seem to all have 24v. on the pin section containing the stand by voltage the standby read at 5.1v (same as on board). However, the other pins in that junction that were suppose to read 12V were reading 19V. Not sure if that's an issue or if that 12V is suppose to be when the power is on and the resting voltage is set to 19V.

I have a Vizio VL370M and I have vertical lines and then whiteout fuzziness then back to verical lines...Sound is always fine..its only the picture..It usually comes back but it is happening more and more frequently, also the Cable in jack point for the cable line does not work ONLY HDMI....
