Funny Story, My wife was listening to your RUclips video while working in the garden. She had to go to the front of the property. When she goes to the front of the property she generally talks to the cows across the road to see how they are doing. They do not normally listen to her and just go about their business😁. However, they heard your voice and started to come to the fence to listen. She did not believe it so she paused the video and the cows went away. She started playing it again and they came back. She did it three more times to prove that the cows across the road love to listen to you. Maybe they know something to.

I have been a member for 52 years, read the Book of Mormon many times, taught Seminary, Institute, Sunday School, Primary, RS, ...but I have never prayed that He will consacrate my performance. What you taught me today goes hand in hand with an impression I received in the temple a few weeks ago. Thank you Brother Halverson, your lessons help me to become a better Saint.

Hi Brother Halverson. We had a Relief Society Fireside with President Nelson and the General Relief Society Sisters on Sunday. We gave our Testimonies on Jesus Christ and how we spread the word. I told my ward about your Podcasts and how much I've learned from you. My Testimony has grown so much sense I have been listening to you and my understanding of the Gospel has also grown. I feel closer to the Lord and when I go to the Temple, I feel his spirit like no other time. Thank you for teaching us with the spirit. What I know is true what you say and you are truly blessed by the Lord and Jesus Christ ❤❤❤❤

PLEASE don't ever worry about REPEATING a personal story you share. As it is when we read the scriptures, we are constantly hearing/reading these in a "different part" of our River of Life, so each repetition has a different meaning, context, impact. I LOVE your personal stories and examples.

Brother Jared…I feel so blessed to have been part of your extended mission as part of the “Unshaken “ classroom😊. Even full circle now. I have enjoyed growing with you and while watching your confidence grow with this new format. Now, with regard to prayer. I had fallen away from the church for nineteen en years, and had eventually stopped praying, and rebelled consciously against even the thought to pray again. What good was it going to do me?
After a life changing experience 8 years ago…I began to pray once. Again. My prayers were timid, and I lacked confidence. While reading the Book of Mormon, in 3Nephi chapter 13 ..The Lord teaches the Nephites how to pray…The Lords Prayer🙏. So, from that very day…now, each morning before I pray in earnest…I begin by saying the Lord’s Prayer.
My time has become much more meaningful and sacred to my personal relationship with our Father in Heaven by following the example of His Son. I know He hears our sincere prayers…every one😇❤️. David

    Dear Brother Halverson,
I’m so thankful for your inspiring words! It’s helping me to understand the scriptures as you tell your stories. It’s been one year since my eternal companion passed away suddenly, shortly after we returned from our 2nd mission ( Kirtland Ohio Historic Sites),& I’m daily working on feeling joy . It’s not easy ( I lost a part of myself), but I know that my Redeemer lives and will help me be whole again! I’m glad you’re feeling better and putting your shoulder to the wheel! ❤️‍🩹⭐️😊🙏

Nephi is truly a hero in my eyes. Such faith and obedience, courageous in many phases of his life and yet humble enough to recognize his own weaknesses (quite frankly I couldn't find any, so he hid them well) and truly blessed of the Lord even through his many trials and challenges was this made manifest. Nephi's example of growing up in God has shown me the path that I must follow (spiritually speaking) to obtain the fruit of the tree of life and then endure by continually feasting on the words of Christ, praying without ceasing, living worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and consecrating my performances unto the Lord. I too, can hardly wait to meet Nephi at the judgement bar and personally thank him for his sacrifice of speaking to me out of the dust that I may believe in Christ and His words given to me through His prophet, Nephi.

It's as if you are planting some of the branches of the tree of life into the nethermost parts of our garden and as they begin to bear fruit helping us graft them back in. Love your outside of the box empathizing with Nephi in a general conference setting as he closes off the last two chapters of his book, pleading with us that regardless of how well or poorly his words may have been written, to please believe in Christ. Jared,
I want to try to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude for taking on this God given calling of sharing your heart, knowledge, and testimony with us.
You have brought the scriptures alive for me in away I’ve never experienced before.
A few years ago, I became interested in some of the books that claimed to have visions of soon to happen pre-millennial events. It took me down a path that initially felt based in truth and exciting to study, but eventually turned dark and empty. It thankfully taught me how to better distinguish the difference between the safety and security of true prophets from false ones.
I’ve been listening to your podcasts since the Old Testament and they have felt so refreshing. I feel more grounded, rooted, firm and secure in my faith because of your efforts, Not only in my faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but in also in my faith and connection in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I often find myself wiping away tears as I feel the sincerity and love you have for God and all of His children through your podcasts, which in turns helps me better imagine and feel how much more our Heavenly Father and Jesus must have for me and everyone else.
Thank you doesn’t seem to be a strong enough phrase, but please know that your and your family’s sacrifice of time, energy, and all that has gone into this labor is sincerely and eternally appreciated.

Back when I was young, and I assure you, I am older than you, the word depressed did not mean what it means today. I knew very few people that would have been considered clinically depressed, so maybe be back in the day of Jacob and Nephi anxiety didn’t quite mean the same thing as it does today. However I get your message. Hope you are feeling better.

Brother Halverson, this lesson was so impactful for me. Thank you. I loved the acronym Find the principle, Explain it, Apply it, Share it, Testify of it. F.E.A.S.T. Brilliant!!!! The words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do. I love your amazing faith and incredible understanding of how to apply the Word with your cloud of witnesses. You have truly learned how to live by faith and call upon God in faith as you navigate and assist others in their faith crisis. What a tool in the hands of the Lord!!! You are amazing! I love your humor, also. I am grateful to say that your Jesus is my Jesus and I'm happy to share Him with one who loves Him as much as you do. I remember when Elder Scott said what you quoted from him about principles are eternal truths packaged for application. So succinct. I love quotes like that. Thank you, so much, dear friend. • @edrickers
    @edrickers 3 месяца назад +2

“Do the scriptures really tell us everything we need to do?“
It actually doesn’t say “the scriptures.“ It says… “The word of Christ will tell you all things….“ And then Nephi seems to repeat himself and instead of saying “the word of God will tell you all things he says… “The Holy Ghost will tell you all things you need to do.”
So, it’s actually the Holy Ghost that is the iron rod and the word of God. It’s personal revelation. Reading the scriptures is like setting the plate on the table. They help us prepare to feast on God‘s word because they do bring the spirit. When the spirit comes it’s personal revelation through that medium“ that tells us all things that we should do.”

2 Nephi 32:6 Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
I wonder if this manifestation of Christ "unto you in the flesh" could be applicable on an individual basis to this promise:
D&C 88:67 And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.
68 Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.
69 Remember the great and last promise which I have made unto you; cast away your idle thoughts and your excess of laughter far from you.

Nephi lamenting his weakness to convince his readers to come to Christ sounds like it is also your own lament 😢 (1:08ish). However God is content to work through our efforts, weak as they may be.
I sometimes wonder how Lucifer ever thought he could convince EVERYONE to trust his plan for saving us, for that was his "guarantee." It's not God’s way to convict us to believe in Christ, but rather to teach correct doctrine, and let us govern ourselves, as you said earlier in the leson.

Appreciate the somewhat shorter time. It means you are able to stay out of the weeds of Isaiah. For too long Isaiah has been seen as speaking to men. It is after he married the prophetess that his rhetoric becomes beautiful. Isaiah is speaking to women in the language of sacred geometry, disguised as the numerology of men. And someday we will see how the Asian scriptures are in their training in the calendars of acupuncture. They testify of the simpleness of the gospel plan of Jesus Christ. They testify of how taking on the yoke simplified and heals all aspects of life. They have preserved and kept sacred the plain and precious truths of the gospel as they have lived the tenants of their cultures.
I love the way you avoid presching a strange gospel by staying true to the words Nephi sacrificed so much to put down on metal plates.
Nephi understood that his story was in place as a type and a shadow for our day. He lived it fully and with great faith that there was a purpose and reason for his life, the lives of Laman and Lemuel, and the lives (stories) of every person he has so carefully included.
In the beginning, he was angry. Yet, by the end, he understands the value of every life in Heavenly Father's plan. He gets how he behaved wretchedly because he wanted to cancel justice so his brothers would not leave the family.
Yet, justice served him in preserving his brothers as enemies so there would be a story for him to tell. What am amazing story they helped create.
How blessed we are to trust that our small efforts are God doing his work and through us. How blessed we are to trust that our enemies will actually save us and prepare us for the Savior's return. How blessed we are to be able to trust his contraries as they guide us through life.
Thank you for safely sharing what you are able and doing so by the spirit.
