Kudos to ya'll for putting that Squeeze record front and center. Such a great album! On Ghostbusters Frozen Empire - As a huge fan who first saw Ghostbusters II is theaters as a small child, this one was disappointing compared to Afterlife. I still had some enjoyment.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! You clearly have great taste in music too! We love Squeeze - got a chance to see them perform live a few years ago, and they were fantastic! Here's that video, in case you're interested: ruclips.net/video/9qe3Kg55uJA/видео.htmlsi=JpIcF2lWPPp5dFVT
I liked the new ghostbusters movie i am glad this one and the last one was a continuation of the two original I hate when they do 80’s remakes when they could just put the original back in theaters and save money it’s always a red flag when they say remade for a modern audience .
Yes!! We totally agree. That's a good way of putting it. Thanks Becki!
Awesome Podcast!!! Keep it up guys! Keep the 80s alive. I know I will!
Thanks, will do! Long live the awesome 80s!!
My mom and I were both like “Where the h word is Sigourney Weaver?!”
Right?! 🤷♀️
Great review!! I haven't seen it yet but I am really looking forward to It!!
Thanks Jessica! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Awesome! I saw the new movie this weekend with my friends and we really enjoyed it! We are huge Ghostbusters fans! I do agree that I wish we could have gotten to see more of Bill Murray in the new film. Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are my favorites, I was going into the theater thinking we were gonna see them in bigger roles than they did in Afterlife. Aykroyd I think had a bigger part than Murray did. 😊
Totally agree! We really enjoyed Akroyd's character in this one, especially that he was a RUclipsr, lol!
@@Our80sLife lol that was funny. Podcast is also hilarious too! 😀
Good review, you two should review some actual 80s films like Tuff Turf starring James Spader
Cool, thanks for the suggestion! We're actually planning a new series where we review 80s movies with a few of our friends, so please stay tuned!
Haven’t checked out Frozen Empire yet,,but I will,asap.
I would like to say that Annie Potts is,yes ,a widely respected actor, but I feel that she is seriously underrated,in the big scheme of things.
She always delivers, her character acting is soo brilliant!
On VH1,they have a show of just 80’svideos,and the last video EVERY time,is the Ghostbusters video🤣
There is someone, who was a younger child, when that song was topping the charts, and she thought the lyrics were
“Who ya gonna call?
Those Bastards!!!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lastly,I,like some sort of SasqSwatch hunter, have spotted some totally awesome Swatch moments recently, yay!
😉😅
Hey Charles, thanks for stopping by! You crack us up, LOL!! Totally agree that Annie Potts is underrated, she's wonderful! Good eye with the Swatch watches. I need to get Keith to change them all for daylight savings time - he has to do them because I can't do them with my long nails, ha!
Ah,yes, swatch sacrifices must be made, but not at the expense of fingernails!
I do hope you get lots of compliments on them as you go about from day to day,and cruise to cruise.
They had become my little orphans,in need of a kind loving home.
And they are now!
I probably should rustle up a few more, but need to battery test before sending, unless you also like expired ones, just for display purposes.
That,I can definitely do!
Oh,one 80’s movie that needs not a remake, but a great sequel,is ‘Big Trouble in Little China’.
Ty would be fantastic.
As long as it was well written, and ahh,the cast,it would be great to see them in their origional roles…
Great review! Sounds like a good movie.
Thanks Melissa! Two thumbs up from us!
Slow beginning. I couldnt wait to get out of the movie... Sorry I didn't see something else. But, thats just my friend and mines opinion. He was so bored that he was biting his nails throughout the movie. And, I was bored and wondering WHY were people laughing? I guess a teenager wasn't into it though either... because it sounded like they were talking on the phone the whole time... I guess we are debbie downers! lol. :( (I did like Slimer as a visual effects though.... :) But, after the movie... my friend had come up with all kinds of ideas about how they could have made the movie better...
Bummer. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the movie. What did you think of Afterlife? We liked it better.
The trailer and clips looked kinda cool. MAYBE ill see it. Its funny how you mention kids because i was around 7 or 8 years old when i saw Ghostbusters in the theater. I think it was scary for me. Also, went with a step father that is now bad memories besides. So maybe im just not a ghost busters fan. I visit NYC several times a year, so I kinda like NYC. I live in CT. Apparently it has a bad reputation? Lol! But we are close to everything here, with some beautiful areas, and all seasons. I cant believe youre from Kansas. I cant even believe thats a real place. Isn't that where the Wizard of Oz was? @@Our80sLife
And, yea... I don't know. Maybe it's our personality types. If anyone is familiar with meyers briggs. An intp and an infp going to see Ghostbusters....Like, Einstein and Walt Witman going to see Ghostbusters. Just saying... I do have certain 80s attachments. But I have my limits.
Got to be honest. I thought it was all over the place.
There are way too many characters, some really pointless scenes.
Really lazy member berries thrown in our face.
The main villain was kind of boring in the end.
And everyone becomes a ghostbuster by the end of the movie?
I liked Afterlife
The storyline in this movie veered into an odd direction, but considering the state of the movie business now, it was not surprising. Clearly that angle did not go over well because the movie's appeal is not having legs. Those modern touches only make the "nostalgia" of it (an overused and even misused word) look more like gimmicks thrown in to deceive because they really served no other purpose.
I did not like the set-up of "Ghostbusters: Afterlife." It was like "The Force Awakens," with pointless angst mother-father angst and everyone not liking Egon, along with everyone barely knowing much about the Ghostbusters having existed.
We agree, it was a weird flex. But we did find the movie entertaining. Anyway, thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing your thoughts!
I have not seen the film yet (and am planning to at some point), so I am going to postpone watching this video until after watching it.
Good call. It's worth seeing in the theatre! Enjoy :)
@@Our80sLife Thanks! Hopefully it is in my hometown theater soon.
