    Fair play the BSA on using up all those unsold bolt action R12's.

    My Hw97 is at present a takedown rifle. In fact its more than that, because its in bits. If all those bits were sold in a nice foam lined box would Hw charge more. As always a good vid.

    I like the idea but if you're going to do a proper take-down sub-12 airgun it'd be like the Air Arms S510 TDR. It is just the S510 action (which is one of the best going) but they've completely redesigned the stock and how it attaches, you cannot fire it with the stock off, the trigger is fully protected and it's super-light.
    This is exactly what you said, an R12 with a thumb-screw rather than a bolt.

    I’ve got an irrational loyalty towards the BSA brand probably because of my first proper air rifle - a second hand Airsporter dad bought me in the 1960’s BUT this is a nonesense. Other companies are being really innovative in terms of folding stocks etc and I’ve got the original AA TDK which they subsequently “improved” by welding the silencer to the barrel so it was a lot less of a take down🤷‍♂️. I love the concept and anything that disguises what we are about these days has to be a positive, just like a silent backstop and a moderator on the barrel are so important for the backyard plinker - but this isn’t innovation, it’s an embarrassing mistake.

    Brocock folding stock idea is the way to go.

    I wanted to love my BSA R12 - I thought it was everything I wanted in a rifle, but following several returns with the magazine and trigger issues it eventually got part exchanged for something else. Shame really because theyre visually stunning rifles.

    I maybe the only one who actually likes this. Yeah you are paying a premium but it comes with everything you need to get up an running and it'll fit nicely away in the back of the cupboard to keep the wife happy! Plus the extra capacity carbon buddy bottle is cool af. It's on my buy list, dunno if the missus will be so happy when she finds out the price of it though 😂

    I really dont know why all manufacturers dont make their rifles ambidextrous, i remember as a child in the early 80's every left hand option was £100 more than the RH, disgusting.

    I agree that this isn't a takedown, but rack saying he thinks take downs are a gimmick in his opinion is very much at odds with his review of the Fx dynamic takedown. He was drooling over that one

    Why has it got an 11mm one piece mount when bsa rails are 13mm

    Essentially you can buy the quick release screw , put it on your own R 12 and there you go, you now have a takedown rifle, it's not a real takedown, but I like the idea.

    Your missing the point with the BSA takedown it's been designed for ease of transportation to and from your shooting destination brilliant well done BSA.

    That sort of soft touch does go tacky and perishes after about a decade. So what do BSA expect we do with the stock after that ?

    A take down air gun is a waste. Just get a folder. Like for stuff that accepts buffer stocks.

  • @brechany
    @brechany 6 месяцев назад +3

    Not a take down. Just a gimmick to shift old stock.

    Any gun held in the stock by one bolt could be classed as a take down! I bet the fx drs is quicker to do than this 😂😅😂😅
